History

Established in 2008.

After 15 years in publishing, I decided I wanted to spend more time with my dog, Harley. I started my canine massage career in early 2009 and Harley was a very willing practice subject.

After an injury to his knee, I branched out into canine orthotics and prosthetics, working with industry leader OrthoPets Veterinary Orthotics-Prosthetics.

Wanting to get more dogs moving, I invested more time in learning about canine carts/wheelchairs. I work with many manufactures but prefer Eddie’s Wheels and have trained at their office in Western Massachusetts to achieve the perfect fit for every dog.

I’ve always envisioned a location where dogs and their people could come and work (play) they’re way to a happy, healthy dog. In January 2015, I opened A Loyal Companion Swim and Recreation Center, a full service dog gym and learning center. We’re proud to offer all of our services (FUNFitness, swimming, learning, massage, senior support, mobility solutions) under one roof.

Meet the Business Owner

Kate T.

Business Owner

I love helping dogs move comfortably. The joy on a dog’s face when he conquers a tricky piece of balance equipment, overcomes his fear of water and allows the water to support him or relaxes into a gentle massage is priceless. Being able to call this my work is more than I could have ever hoped for.

I’ve spent the last seven years reading, studying, practicing, watching, learning and listening to the best sources I could find, including Purdue University, University of Tennessee, Rocky Mountain School of Animal Acupressure and Massage, and countless books on topics such as canine communication, gait analysis, canine structure, osteoarthritis, canine movement, fitness for dogs, dog sports and more.

I love to learn and I love to share that knowledge. I hope you’ll stop in an visit our location so we can share it with you.
