Great prices, clean place, well organized, helpful staff.
First time there, I came because I had bought the $ 20 for $ 10 deal. Unfortunately, I got there with only 20 minutes or so before closing. I did find some great deals on jewelry and beads! (What thrift store has a display just for bead?! First I’ve seen!)
When I got to the register, my purchase was only up to about $ 10, and they were ready to close. I thought I could use some of the coupon now, and save the rest for later, however the cashier informed me that it can only be used once. I was a frustrated because I had really wanted to use it, and I didn’t know if I’d be back since I’m from out of town.
I explained my situation and asked politely if they would please let me take another quick look so that I could use my coupon. The cashier deferred to the manager, who said no problem! I really appreciated this accommodation since they could have just told me sorry we’re closed and left it at that.
Took me about 90 seconds to find some more great deals in the jewelry case and I was out of there! Bonus: Free makeup bag to hold my new treasures! Thank you for making my first experience great!

Nice staff they were so helpful. Great items was shocked most of the thrift stores in town have a poor selection, but not this one. Very clean store, we will definitely be coming back.

Great if you are a woman looking for clothing that doesn’t have the «thrift store clothes» look, and great if you are looking to get cookware. The staff is extremely friendly. The store could be less cluttered, particularly in the furniture section but sometimes that just can’t be helped. Pretty dusty air in there that set off my allergies.

Clothes are very expensive in my opinion, 5 dllrs for used shorts? buuut they have the colored tags deal, that changes everything… plus! I got the cutests leather riding boots for 4 dllrs! last week, hubby got great jeans for $ 3dlls, ofcourse, with colored tag

I had a Groupon for this store, $ 10 for a $ 20 purchase, but I put off going there because I’m lazy and the location is a bit far away from me. BUT IT IS SO WORTH THE TRIP! I wish I had discovered it sooner, since I’m moving out of state this summer.
I’m a thrift-​shop junkie, and a while back I was looking around for a small sofa. I was dismayed to find most second-​hand furniture out of my price range. (Really, Goodwill? $ 100 for a loveseat? $ 6.99 for sunglasses? Pfft.) In fact, the bargains in most thrift shops don’t seem to be as good as they once were, maybe because vintage is cool now. I had the impression that 1^st Rate 2^nd Hand Thrift Store was a high-​class operation, which it is, and I didn’t think their prices would be that low. I was wrong!!!
I went there to use my Groupon a couple of days before it was due to expire. I got off the bus at the wrong stop, so I had to walk for about 25 minutes. It was an unseasonably hot day, and I’m sure I was looking pretty beat when I got there. I have a hereditary hand tremor that gets worse with exertion. The first thing I did at the store was to ask for a cup of water, and a young man hustled to get it for me. Hallah, the manager, looked very concerned and asked me if I wanted anything else, like a cookie. I told her I just needed water, and she said if I needed more or if I just wanted to sit down I could go in their break room. So extraordinary for a business. It was like being at a friend’s home.
I got a pair of leather ankle boots that were marked $ 6, but they turned out to be 25% off. For my $ 20 Groupon I got the boots, a silk shirt, a pair of linen pants, a polo shirt (classified as a t-​shirt, and those are $ 2 each), and an embroidered cotton blouse. There is a huge selection of great stuff. I looked at some groovy vintage aprons but didn’t buy one; I wish I had. I remember once seeing a young woman wearing one, not to cook or clean in but as part of an ensemble, and it looked really cute.
According to Groupon, I didn’t need to print out my voucher (which was good since I don’t have a printer); I could just tell them my name when I paid. Hallah wasn’t aware of that, but she let me go into her office, pull up my Groupon account, and write down the UPC number. Again, extraordinary. A lot of businesses would have just said tough toenails, go print the voucher and come back. That would have been incredibly inconvenient for me. Hallah recognized that and was SO accommodating.
While I was waiting to pay, a guy came to the register with a big picture frame and said something about it being 50% off. The cashier said that sale ended yesterday, The customer said that the sign was still up. Hallah heard that and told them the 50% off price would be honored. I’ve never been in a place that goes to such lengths to make customers happy.
Before I left, Hallah asked if I wanted some more water for the road. I said yes, and she came back with a big plastic bottle – the nice, reusable kind – full of water and said I could have the bottle. Free.
There are a hundred little ways in which your day can fall apart, and a hundred little ways that a kind person can put it back together for you. This is especially wonderful when the person is a stranger.
I love love love this store, and you will too.

I don’t shop here often, but since I got the Living Social deal, I chose to come here after leaving work an hour early today. I found some super fun and amazing stuff — a gorgeous glass relish tray, ridiculously huge sombrero (Crazy Hat Day is next week at work), sake glasses, and a beautiful Italian hand painted pottery goblet in blue & green. The cashier was really awesome and very patient, especially when I kept having to find MORE stuff to total out to $ 30. The book selection was awesome, and I love to read. Especially for only fifty cents for paperbacks, how can you go wrong? I need to shop here more often! There is so much fun & unique stuff here, you really need to do yourself a favor and stop in.

I love this thrift store. Every day they have select colored tags that are 25%, 50%, and 75% off their already low priced thrifted items. I frequent this place quite often and never seem to leave empty handed! I walked out with a pair of pants and a shirt, only spending $ 1.75!
Sidenote: they do have a minimum on card purchases so i would bring cash.

This is probably the best thrift store I’ve seen in a long time, they have all sorts of stuff and the staff is just incredibly helpful.
I saw how for the better part of two hours the staff was helping a client to decide over an old grandpa clock, and they even said they knew people that could fix it. If you are looking for cheap dishes, they have a ton. And they also have some furniture.

I wish I could give more stars to this establishment. I know thrift shops are always changing because of the nature of the business. New merchandise is constantly coming in. I went through every aisle and by the way it is quite filled to the brim with «stuff» I could not find anything. I do love going to thrift shops because in the past I have found a couple of hidden treasures. They have lots of clothes that really looked very shop worn. They do have pieces of furniture but nothing I couldn’t live without. I didn’t have a chance to meet the manager because everybody seems to be so happy with her. I will go back again and check it out because there could be some treasure that I have not found yet.

This is an awesome spot for great stuff. My daughter and I happened in there last May I believe, and we met the fabulous Hallah, manager of this great thrift store.
It’s clean and organized and it even smells nice!
But the customer service is off the charts! We have bought more since then and will continue to buy as long as she runs this place!

I shouldn’t tell you about this store, because then you will know where I get my collection of very old antique dolls for less. I found a collection of old wooden Bimbo dolls from the 1930’s for less than $ 14 each! And they were having a sale, so I made out like a bandit. The help was very friendly and the place is really a small store chock full of hidden items. Make sure you check in for discounts!

This place is awesome. Their customer service was so helpful. The manager is amazing. They are always eager to help. Take your time going through there and you will find a lot of designer clothing. I was ab Ln en to find a few vintage hand bags and Ralph Lauren pieces. They support multiple charities.

Had a great deal with the Unilocal deal! We were trying to find drawers for planting and got these metal containers for half price. It seemed they have some other cute vintage stuff too.

This is by far my favorite thrift store in Tucson. I try to go here weekly. The stuff here tends to be higher quality than other comparable thrift stores. I rarely tend to find items I think are overpriced. If I do find things I feel are overpriced, I usually just wait and see if it will go on sale with their colors of the month promotions (50% off one color and 75% off another color). I’ve gotten kitchen stuff, a table, an amazing lamp, books, etc here. Definitely worth a stop if you’re a thrifter. Staff is really friendly, too.

Tucson’s only Jewish thrift store! Yep they are, but they are also full of little treasures. Yes some of their furniture is over priced, but its all pretty cute, and in great condition, from what I saw.
Their clothing is a bit high too, but as I understand they have coupons and really good sales. I scoped out their book section, and found some first editions.
I bought 2 cook books, one was huge, and was only $ 2. I know for a fact new it’s probley about $ 30.
I also bought some vintage embroidered hankies for $ 2, and a kick butt silver ring for $ 9.
This place has some great finds, and I will be returning soon! :)

Wow! What a great place to spend some spare time and some spare money. Great deals on everything from furniture, clothes and all kinds of household items.

I go to thrift stores. A lot. I have been to probably every single one in the Metro Tucson area and I’d say I know the bulk of them inside and out. And there is a small part of me that feels almost secretly glad that there are no reviews for 1^st Rate 2^nd Hand. It’s just that when you find a place like this you sort of wish you could keep it to yourself.
That said, I want them to be around for a while and I guess I can let other people in on some of my awesome loot every now and again.
The constantly changing inventory is consistently cool and you’ll find a lot of amazing scores for not a lot of money. They are one of the few places that are open on Sunday and the downside to that is that they are closed on Saturdays. Aside from that the only thing I wish were different would be that they had a larger space. Don’t get me wrong here though. It’s a lot bigger than many thrift stores and is honestly pretty spacious. I’d just like to have more square footage is all.
