Heard from several folks who like the restaurant. We were not impressed at all. Chicken was overcooked & dry(hard to swallow). Steaks were not cooked as ordered. Tater tots were mushy and not crisp. I guess we needed to drink a few beers before tasting the food. Not going to be a return trip.

Local 7 gets 5 stars because most everything I’ve had has been very good, and I just like going there! My only change would that it was open later, but hey, can’t blame them! Their burger is excellent and always cooked right! Last time I went, the bacon was crisp and broken up with the cheese on top holding it all in place, exactly how it usually is at Downwind and in my opinion how it should be! And on the second Saturday evening of each month all summer, there is an excellent car show right in front of it on Tuckers main street! Can’t go wrong!

I really like this place. It is casual dining. I thought they would only have traditional BBQ but they have a full menu with vegetarian and pescatarian options. I had the salmon BLT on bun with a side salad and my boyfriend had the smoked wings and tots. Both were delicious. I have no complaints about the food. The wings were crispy and meaty and cooked well through. Some people don’t like larger meaty wings so that may be an issue depending upon preference. The service was good. The gentleman was friendly, attentive without being obnoxious, and gave me a good recommendation of the salmon BLT. We went for lunch and it wasn’t crowded or noisy. I would definitely come back and most likely will order take out as well to try more menu items. So glad I found this place in Tucker. I live in Tucker and hate that I have to go to Decatur or Atlanta to get food.

We came here for lunch on a Sunday and it did not disappoint! The hostess was very pleasant and sat us right away(Renee). Our waitress(Shannon) got our drink orders almost immediately and then took our food orders. My husband ordered a club sandwich with onion rings and I had the cheeseburger with sweet potato fries. The onion rings were cooked perfect with a very light and tasty batter. My burger was good but a little greasy. My husband gave his club just and«ok» rating. Overall the service was good, the food was good but nothing spectacular. If we lived closer we would go back frequently just for the onion rings.

This place is awesome clean cool atmosphere and the service is fast and the food is HOT! We were on lunch from work so being fast helps. They have pretty good prices and there portions are very generous. For starters we ordered the fried mushrooms&artichokes this came with a chipotle ranch dipping sauce 1 thing I would like to point out is the mushrooms were fresh and you could tell they had not been frozen but made on premises the batter was crunchy and delicious. When you think of bar food you automatically assume most of the fried foods like fried mushrooms are frozen bagged food that is not the case here. For an entrée I got the Salmon BLT the(Salmon was cooked perfectly) with the tater tots w/brunswick stew cheese red onions and bbq sauces(I had to try it after seeing every1s reviews on it) what was awesome is that every tater tot was sooo crunchy. The other people I was with got burgers and a french dip. Everything was great and I would definetly come here again.

«New Tucker restaurant sells the sizzle, fails on everything else» The Local No. 7 has all the right parts to plant a permanent flag in the burgeoning downtown Tucker revival, but unfortunately, it will turn into just another crappy dive bar unless they get their act together. I’ve given this place 5 shots now to get it right, and each time it has let me down. I am done paying for shoddy service and food that is completely hit-or-miss, with a decidedly pronounced slant towards«miss». As a Tucker homeowner, I would love nothing more than to see this place succeed and become a landmark in the community. Instead, I am looking forward to the next restaurant to assume the space currently occupied by the Local No. 7. The restaurant itself is really nicely executed. Its always clean, and the décor is what you’d expect in what is billed as a gastropub that’s a cut-above the norm. Parking is plentiful and easy to access, and the restaurant is nestled in a great location along Tuckers budding downtown main street. Before(or after) your meal, make sure to walk around a bit and wander in some of the other stores. There’s a lot of «good» going on downtown. Walk in, and be seated. Then prepare to wait for 5 – 10 minutes until a waitress decides you’re worthy of her attention. Last night, there were 6 people at the bar, and another 6 at tables. There were three servers working the restaurant. We waited 10 minutes to even be acknowledged. Once the menus were provided, our drink orders from their extensive beer list were taken, and then we sat for another 10 minutes until our beer was returned. So that’s 20 minutes from the time we walked in before we even got our drinks. In a restaurant that was mostly empty. On the upshot, we were entertained by the colorful clientele seated at the bar. No eavesdropping necessary since they spoke loud enough to hear them over the train that passes by 50′ from the porch. These folks may have been refugees from the recently torched Tucker dive-bar that burned to the ground a few months ago, but suffice to say, their vocabulary wasn’t exactly extensive. Whenever they found themselves lacking for an adjective, inserting«F*&King», «Sh*tty», or both seemed to fit whatever tale they were spinning — and management did nothing to quell the river of loud profanity. Out of the 5 times I’ve been here, 4 of them consisted largely of the same experience with salty, decidedly NOTKIDFRIENDLY language. Management — allowing this sort drunken debauchery doesn’t do your establishment any favors. I’d expect this sort of thing after 8 or 9 on a weekend night, but at 6pm on a Sunday? «Image sells» folks. You’re only going to be as acceptable to families as your clientele. Clean it up or you’re doomed. «Ok, Dan, but what about the food?» you ask. I’ve had the French dip, the reuben, the patty melt, a burger, and the ribs. With the exception of the ribs, everything else was typical ‘bar food’, which means«marginal at best». If you’re looking for gastropub level food, go elsewhere. This place has nothing on other places like Twains or the Marlay in Decatur. The ribs were a mixed bag. I ordered a half-rack on one of the nights they made them. Half of them were as dry and chewy as beef jerky, and the other half were actually quite good. Shame they can’t cook a meal correctly that they only serve once a week… Midway through gnawing on my ribs, my water ran out and my beer was half gone. I’d have loved another one of each, but my waitress found something better to do because I never actually saw her again. By the end of the meal, both cups were dry and I had to flag down the bartender to even be noticed. «More beer?» she asked? «No, we’re done here. Check please» I replied. And I really mean it this time.

We stopped in for a late lunch based on reviews on Unilocal. My husband had Buffalo wings which he said were excellent. My daughter had BBQ tacos and sweet potato fries. She said the tacos were wonderful but she wished she had ordered tater tots like me-though I tasted her fries and they were good. I found the tots to taste just like every other tot I’ve ever had-nothing special which I was expecting since the tots were highlighted on the menu. However, I ordered the Angus beef sliders that were smothered with grilled onions, mushrooms and cheese-excellent choice on my part. My daughter was happy to see that Bell’s Hopslam draft beer on the menu and enjoyed a glass. Service was slow and food could have been warmer-it was obvious it had sat waiting to be served for a while. The room was busy– no empty tables on a Sat. afternoon, so more staff would have been helpful. Our server was extremely busy. All in all, food was great, service slow but a delightful lunch when all was said and done!

I will be the first to admit first time I came not impressed at all but the more I come the more I am in love. Moved to Tucker in Nov and was eager to fund a new bar with true local flavor. So far my husband and I have met several amazing locals and became friends with he bartenders. Sundays are great for $ 10 bottomless mimosas, love coming during the week for the smoked wings or Chipotle barbecue wings. To be honest we have only sat at the bar.

You can find the Local 7 at 2316 Main Street, Suite A, Tucker, GA30084 right next to the railroad tracks that splits downtown tucker and directly across from local food landmark, Matthew’s Cafeteria. Parking is along the street or in the lot next to Matthew’s. I’ve eaten at Local 7 a number of times and in general the experiences have been good — this is a local pub favored by those in the area and it can get quite busy, especially on the weekends. I think it would be even busier except that local foot-traffic is limited. I’m a big fan of Tucker’s recent renovation of their historic downtown, however most of local city residents live a bit too far away to walk there and the streets for the most part aren’t very pedestrian friendly. The city doesn’t really have the population density near downtown to make it very vibrant, though it is trying. The restaurant itself is a glass-fronted shop-front in classic red-brick. The interior is very eclectic with a long bar along one side, tables and booths and a nice outside patio along the railroad tracks. Walls are festooned with adverts for local breweries and there are bicycles hanging from the ceiling, courtesy of Fat Tire(and New Belgium Brewing). I like the atmosphere quite a bit. The food is your typical pub food with wings, burgers, sandwiches and the like — they do serve tater-tots if that’s your starch of choice and I thought the onion rings quite good. I’ve had the Reuben Sandwich which I thought good if not great. Don’t bother with the fish and chips — it’s cod but the tail cut which really should never be used(tough and curled). We sent this back twice. I think Local 7 is really more about the atmosphere and the craft beer selection. I’ve enjoyed a really nice Boulevard Coffee Stout. The specials on tap seems to change fairly frequently with a bunch of fixed brands. The bottle list is above average for a place this size with lots of variety and some fine craft beer represented. I’ve also managed to try a dessert here, a German chocolate cake which was good but not great(a bit dry and frozen). Stick with the beer and the basics and I think you’ll be happy. The service I’ve experienced has been quite good. The other patrons for the most part seem to ignore you if you don’t know them but there’s at least a bit of diversity as you scan around so, while you may not be part of the recognized local crowd, you don’t get the attitude you might while visiting a downtown Atlanta pub. One thing that’s a little weird is that the bathrooms are shared with the building so you exist the back(there’s a common hallway) to use the facilities — efficient but a bit odd. I like this pub a lot and plan to visit more regularly. (also posted to my food blog)

Great burgers, a but pricey though. Overall it was a great experience. We sat at the bar, the bartender was very knowledgeable and answered any and all questions we had for him. It’s a small restaurant but is usually busy. We will definitely be back for those burgers, they also had a fairly good beer selections. But they also had a huge selection of whiskey!

Can’t say I received bad service cause I didn’t get any service! Bartender was too busy eating fries and going out for a smoke. Never got the beer my girlfriend ordered before I arrived. It’s a shame. As a bartender myself I’m not impressed !

Local No. 7 is more of a bar than a restaurant though some of the items we tried were pretty good. I liked the beer selection and the appetizer of onion rings was really good. At our table we tried the reuben sandwich which may have been better if it was grilled rather than served on just toasted bread. The steak sandwich had nice flavor but was a challenge to eat on the ciabatta bread with thick slices of stead. The best item we tried was the hamburger so I would definitely recommend sticking to the basics if you are going to enjoy a dinner with some drinks.

Well let’s see! I have going into here for a few months now. I’ll have to say their is a wide array of people that frequent it. All friendly. They have a nice size bar. Tables seating as well along with a nice size patio. Covered and open. It does tend to get fairly loud when the crowd is in. Only complaint. The food is pretty good had some of their ribs just the other day. Justin does a good job on the smoker. The burgers are good as well. The have a good selection of craft beers on tap. The bartenders and waiters do a pretty good job.

I must say, this place blew me out of the water. For all its casualness – for appearing to be «just another neighborhood bar,» I was really impressed with the food. And even though the bartender also had to come outside to serve us, this didn’t stop service from being really good. I had a the pork wings, some chili, and a few of the fried green beans. Yes, I said«pork wings.» This is a trimmed down pork shank, cooked to perfection, and served with Carolina mustard barbecue sauce. I thought they were spectacular. The chili is allegedly award winning. I can see why. Hearty and with a good burn. I’m getting hungry again just thinking about it. And the fried green beans are a hit. I’ve had this kind of dish elsewhere, but somehow these remain memorable. This is possibly the least healthy way to eat green beans, but you should still do it. Holler if you want some company.

I thought I would give them another try. Yeah well, still not good. Food is way overpriced. Terrible cold cheap bag fries. Not a $ 12 burger. Mediocre service. Last time I will be here. Sadly, Tucker needs better eateries. Go to Fork in the Road or Three dollar, better value, better food and service.
