Tuck’d Away Bar & Grill

Had a fantastic Burger, Italian Sandwich and Chickpea burger! SO shocked at the incredible service and food! The décor isn’t top notch and that is why we were so surprised at the great taste of the food. Our Vegan son loved the chickpea burger and my husband and I loved our meals as well. Lucky for us we just discovered great food and outstanding service!!!

Tuck’d Away is conveniently located and there is easy parking all around (metered). Usually in the day time its pretty empty but I went there the other night and it was packed. They had a live band and people were up dancing. One thing I noticed is that this bar seems to attract an older crowd. My friends and I were probably the youngest there that night. The food here is good and their drinks are usually good as well even though my mojito was really sweet that night. The waitress at the bar kind of had a demanding attitude that night which was a turn off. I guess we looked so young that she didn’t think we were 21 and rudely yelled «Before anything, I need to see IDs».
Pros: location, not a very popular place so its never overcrowded and the food comes out quickly
Cons: their music selection, their décor sucks (they need new furniture) and they also need a wider variety regarding their drinks menu

I’ve been here literally a couple times and last night reminded me of how unremarkable this place is. we sit at the bar and we start to order drinks. The waitress cuts us off & rudely Wails «before anything I Need ID’s!!»
I’ve never been asked for something so simple so rudely. So we continue after IDs, cool maybe she’s protecting their jeopardized license, who knows. She was fine after that (so we thought) since she got what she wanted.
I ordered a mojito and it was super sweet with no sugar cane. It was flat and didn’t taste like a hint of mint or lemon which is the best part of refreshing mojitos and what I look forward to.
I also ordered buffalo wings and sweet potato fries. What a mistake! The fries were super soggy with Syrup all over them and a side of the syrup. it tasted like an old pancake. Disgusting.
The wings were reasonably ok. Spicy n juicy.
Once we hit outside to leave we sat in the car to chat like girlfriends and here comes the bar tender with a cop friend smirking. They were power tripping and told us to move the car from in front of the place meanwhile they smoked and giggled.
You can count me out from revisiting this place! The bartender definitely broke the experience.

Great place!!! Being that i live 2 blocks from this place, i feel like its an extension of my living room and i love that! The food is good and has that comfortable lounge feeling. Great spot to relax and hang out.

Where have you been all my life! I pass by this place every day on the way home from work and only visited last night. It is a comfortable bar restaurant, with a nice bar and friendly bartender who makes great kick ass drinks. Many variety of good strong and healthy sized drinks on happy hour menu as well as appetizers. I can recommend the Cosmo’s.
My husband and I shared the sampler for two — $ 15. It was very hardy and filled us right up. You get mussels, chicken wings, fried wontons, pretzel bites, two sliders and spinach feta quesadilla. The portion is big and more than enough for two w/​o dinner. They have at least 10 types of wings so you could order what you want as well as the mussels as marina, fra diavolo or bianco. I liked that there were choices with the sliders too. The bar and restaurant were doing a nice business yet the food came out quickly and was hot.
I will definitely return for happy hour and will also like to come back on a weekend for lunch. BTW, nice, new and clean bathrooms.
UPDATE, I’ve been back for lunch, dinner and several more happy hours and it’s still great. Lunch specials for $ 12 include a huge salad, soup, entrée and non alcoholic beverage. So full after eating lunch. Dinner menu has a variety of options, all satisfying, reasonably priced and delicious.

I was in this restaurant several weeks ago. The food is decent and it is in the neighborhood.
I saw a drunken fool harass an elderly couple at the bar. The owner and bartender did nothing to stop the filthy mouthed drunk.
Finally the entire family left.
I left shortly after and will never return.

Very down to earth and spacious restaurant. They could fit many more tables, but I’m guessing that because nearby parking can be very tight, the Village of Tuckahoe limits the number.
As for the food, we had the Ruben and something called, I think, a burger quesadilla. Both were great, but the burger quesadilla, which was recommended by the owner, was truly outstanding. Portions were huge; we could barely finish. The desert, a brownie with ice cream was also very good. Prices are very fair.
Only disappointment was that the selection of beer was very limited. I tried the beer from Broken Bow, a Tuckahoe brewery. It was excellent.

This place was seriously amazing. May not be the most tasteful atmosphere but it’s style is very unique and different from your average pub. Good beer choices and the food is amazing. We had fried pickles and pretzel bites. Both tasted amazing. I usually hate fried pickles but their fried pickles and sauce were delicious. For entrée I had a «tucked cheese steak» aka a cheese steak but the steak they used for it was very tasty and tasteful. Can’t wait to come back!

Well their wings are amazing!!! Totally addicting.
Their drinks are pretty good too the music not so much there’s no variety and only caters to some peoples likes. It’s cozy inside and it has wonderful service. If they can liven up the music a bit add a lil variety it’s would be an amazing place.

Been wanting to go here for a while since the reviews looked so good. We went on Saturday for a late lunch and there was a party taking up the 90% of the space. Not really a problem… we still got a table and was able to order.
I have been looking forward trying their chickpea burger, and my husband got the honey chicken sandwich. I have to say I was extremely disappointed in the chickpea burger. I’m not sure what technically qualifies something as a «burger» but I don’t think throwing a patty of panko breadcrumbs and chickpeas between flat bread does. I was so surprised that it didn’t come with any lettuce, tomato or onions. Maybe a nice piece of cheese and some sauce of some kind would have spruced up this very dull «burger.»
Either way, I was very disappointed. I ordered the parm fries to go with it and they tasted very stale.
My husband did like his sandwich which is why I’m giving them two stars. However, I am not sure if I’d ever waste my time going back here when there are a bunch of other places in the area.

The best wings!!! We also had Mac and cheese and fish and chips entrees, both very good. Server Michael was great. Nice place to have in town. Will definitely be back!

Was looking for an alternative wing spot and Tuck’d Away popped up. This was the best random stop i think ive made thus far this summer. MNF and .50 wings accompanied with amazing drinks and good service. If this place is neat you … you owe it to youtself to make this a regular stop when going out

Food was okay but this is more of a bar hangout than a place to eat dinner. There were a bunch of smokers right outside the door of this place and the smoke smell would come into the restaurant every time someone opened the door and this ruined our meal. There is nothing worse than smelling smoke when you are trying to eat dinner. They should make them smoke across the street away from the place. They shouldn’t let them smoke literally right outside the door for the place. Plus, people have to walk through all that smoke to get inside. Gross.

Excellent food. Great atmosphere. Couldn’t be more relaxing eating on a couch with the family gathered around the table.
The mozzarella wedges were delicious. The tomato soup was sweet with a hint of garlic. Sliders were beautiful; juicy and not too well done. Ruben was tasty with just the right amount of kraut on a toasted bun. Cheesesteak was really nice. Perfect blend of peppers, onions and meat. Not messy or dripping with sauce. Garlic parmesan fries were crispy and not to oily. Sweat potato fries were served with maple syrup which is always a plus.
The service was excellent. We were seated immediately. The server was friendly and prompt.
Price was about $$. We will definitely be back.

My go to spot! Love the drinks and the food. Everything here is simply amazing! Owner, Mike is great and very attentive to his guests. Local hot spot!

What can I say this place was amazing. The waiter who I believe was named Michael was amazing. I’ll admit I was being a tad bit annoying and he was nothing but pleasant. I was curious about the sauces that the location offered so when asked the waiter offered me samples of whatever sauce I wanted (a rare feature). I loved the Thai sauce they had for the wings was amazing and for you jerk sauce fans the jerk sauce is awesome. The wings were cooked to perfection .
The entrees we choose were the salmon which I saw was good although I’m not a fan of wine sauce I would saw it was good not great. I’m comparing the salmon to a Havana central salmon which I think is the best. My girlfriend had the honey chicken wrap which was a ¹⁰⁄₁₀. The waiter suggested parmesan powder fries and boy he was correct in choice. The fries were great I might say the best fries I’ve had in a long time .
The music was great I went on a Saturday and they had a live band which played pretty neat music.

Great food and service! The salmon was delicious. Would highly recommend for an after work drink and bite to eat!

We did take out which might be why I didn’t give it more stars. I don’t think their food is bad I just don’t think it travels well. Will definitely have to eat in next time and update my review. Chilli was good and my husband did like the wings.

So for months my wife and I have been wanting to try this little place that opened down in Tuckahoe last year, and I have to say it was a very pleasant experience.
SERVICE:
Have to say was great as we called ahead to see if they would honor the Groupon offer of «dinner for two» instead for «lunch for two». No problem whatsoever. (And we were comped an extra side of fries for my daughter. very cool). Not to mention very attentive and friendly.

FOOD/​DRINK:
For our appetizer we had the Chili Nachos, which were very tasty and the portion was very generous. If you get it without the Chili you might not feel as satisfied but that’s just me. (The only thing that was need was maybe kick like onions or jalapeños but I like spicy). I had the Buffalo wings and I have to say they are one of the best I’ve had in awhile, not over cooked, but very flavorful and spicy. Could barely finish the 15 so maybe go for 10 next time, LOL! As for drinks they do offer special cocktails but we just had beers this time. Yonkers IPA was nice.

AMBIANCE: Nice, cozy, not a big place but inviting. Good for drinks and appetizers. Plenty of screens so if ya want to see a game you get to see it from anywhere. A few couches for a loungey feel but not extravagant. Overall, nice local neighborhood bar.

LOCATION: As for getting there there are many options, locals can walk, (like we will do next time) but you can grab the #8 Bee-​line bus or the Metro North Tuckahoe Station that are just around the corner. Driving is ok, street parking is the only option as the place has no parking available but don’t see it as a problem.

PRICING: Your usual type for bar & grill. Not expensive. No complaints
