Crestwood Shoe Repair Shop

TL/​DR: This charming, old-​fashioned shop carelessly damaged my $ 600 Alden cordovan shoes.
I really wanted to like Frank and the fellows at Crestwood Shoe Repair. This store has the competent vibe of a shop that’s been in business for a long time. I brought a pair of Brooks Brothers loafers that needed a new heel, which they repaired promptly and inexpensively ($ 20). The work was so good that I entrusted them with a pair of Alden loafers in ravello cordovan — shoes that Alden allows you to pay $ 600 for after a one to two year wait. Given the quality of the first repair, I was confident that the folks at Crestwood Shoe Repair could do the same job at the same level of quality.
When I picked up my shoes this afternoon, I immediately noticed that there was a pin-​sized hole in the side of one shoe, and deep scratches to the leather upper by the heel — the result of sloppy shaping of the new heel.
Me: «There wasn’t a hole in this shoe when I dropped it off. I’m really very upset.»
Frank: «There’s no reason for me to put a hole in this part of the shoe. It makes no sense.»
Me: «That’s exactly what I was thinking.»
Frank was friendly and polite, offering to shine the shoes to make the scratches less evident. But the damage was done. You can’t polish out a hole. Sloppy workmanship seriously damaged a $ 600 pair of shoes.
And it’s too bad, because I want to support local businesses. Maybe I’ll go back if I need to buy a shoelace. But I’ll never bring them anything I care about again.
Pros: Exciting! Will they ruin my shoes?
Cons: I won’t be back to tell them what I think in person.

I brought in 5 pairs of couture shoes and he destroyed them all. They were new shoes and he got pen on them and then in trying to fix them dis colored the shoes. I wouldn’t recommend anyone who needs shoes fixed to come here.

I love this place, but here are a few tips:
1. Never go there when the owner is out because the guys in the back have no idea how to find repaired shoes. Never attempt to speak to these guys because they have nothing nice to say. They are rude and know nothing about customer service.
2. Never loose your ticket. I was in there with another lady and the guys could not find either of our repairs. If you loose the ticket, you are SOL.
3. They do great work and this is a dying art. If you follow 1. & 2. you shouldn’t have any problems. I will go back.

I recently bought two new pairs of shoes that kept squeaking whenever I walked on tile floors. I brought them to Crestwood Shoe Repair, and he the turnaround time was the same day. And he didn’t even charge me (I felt bad and left something in the tip jar).
The quality of the work was excellent and the customer service was extremely friendly. I will be bringing all of my shoes to this place from now on.

I live in the Bx and work in Westchester. My coworkers told me about Crestwood Shoe Repair. I fell in love!!! I proceeded to bring all my shoes that had issues for repair and never wound up paying an arm and a leg. This is THE go to place for shoe repair in Westchester. They open early, excellent customer service and the price is right! I’m surprised that there are not more reviews. Come on people, what are you waiting for!!!

You know that little shoe repair shop from years ago where they did incredible quality work, finished repairs the same day and charged amazingly reasonable prices?
It’s still alive and well in Tuckahoe, NY.
This family-​run shop is hands-​down the best shoe repair in Westchester County. The craftsman-​owner and his team have repaired many shoes and bags for my family, among them: completely resoling and re-​heeling a pair of English riding boots with leather soles and heels for $ 30 (and one-​day turnaround), repairing a pair of handmade sandals from India that had been worn to shreds, and perfectly dying a pair of leather booties. I could go on and on listing all the customized work they’ve done, but you get the picture.
These expert leather workers take on tough jobs, but will also tell you when a piece is beyond repair. They do wonderful work – and they work fast. Their prices are fantastic. And they open at 7am in the morning, so you can leave and pick up things before heading to work.
Though I live across country, I make the trip to this shop – and am glad to do so.
I hope this review brings them a slew of new customers – because I sincerely hope they never go out of business!

The customer service here is excellent and the turn around time is even better. I brought in a pair of black patent leather pumps that i destroyed the heels of on their first wear and they were able to stretch the leather and hide the imperfections better than i imagined, in less than 48 hours. On another occasion I brought in a pair or caramel leather booties that were so worn, the heal came off on one and the toe was very scuffed on the other. Within 24 hours, both heels were replaced, cleaned up, and look brand new! I recommend this company highly.

2.5 stars. Ok, I am torn about this place did good work and the location is convenient but waaaay over priced. There are only a few places in the area that I could find that actually fixed shoes. I tried to get an idea of what the place charged when I dropped my boots off but the gentleman couldnt or wouldnt tell me. Which lead to literal sticker shock when I went to pick them up. $ 75 to fix the soles on 2 pair of boots?!
For the price, I think I would rather take my shoes into the city.

If you ever need anything done to your shoes, bags, or leather goods, you must go here. They have good hours and a convenient location for commuters (I believe they are open 7am-​6pm or 7pm). I brought in a pair of shoes that had a cracked heel and were scuffed up, not expecting much. They repaired the heels on both shoes and cleaned them up… for less than $ 5. It’s like having a brand new pair. I also had a bag with a broken strap and they repaired and cleaned it.
The service is phenomenal– they know their stuff and are very friendly. The turnaround time is usually pretty quick, and the prices can’t be beat. The owner is a jovial little man, and I am happy to support him and his business.

Jesse was on the spot about place you don’t find many businesses like this place anymore. Took my wife’s boots to my regular shoe repair guy to get stretched and my guy told me that it would be impossible to do because «no one around could fix them because no one has a boot stretcher». Well I jumped on my iPhone and searched Unilocal for another local shoe repair and Creastwood shoe repair shop came up with that great review and it was accurate. Not only did he say no problem but he told me it would be no charge.
I guess i’ve got a new shoe guy.

You don’t find many businesses like this anymore. The repair shop has been in one family for over thirty years and each family member at the shop does excellent work. The first time I stopped by, they were patient with my silly questions, gave good pointers, and fixed up the soles of my shoes in a jiffy. I was so happy with how that first pair of shoes looked that I immediately took off the shoes that I was wearing and asked them to make the stitching stronger. They happily agreed and charged me no extra. In fact, they knocked five dollars off the original price and said, with a big smile, «Have a great day!» You can’t beat that kind of service.
