Todd Kono – Value Mortgage

Todd provided us with a hassle free, quick and painless refi. He is very knowledgeable, efficient and professional. He is quick to reply and gets the job done. I would highly recommend him and will definitely use him for any future refi’s.

It might seem like I am rating Todd and Value Mortgage too high, but it is well deserved. My wife and I originally tried another local mortgage company (who shall go unnamed) and they were painfully slow, wanted to charge us higher origination fees, and had a worse loan lined up for us. The worst part is that they wasted 3 months of our time. Fast-​forward to Todd Kono. This guy communicates excellently. Answering emails quickly, taking calls on off hours and weekends sometimes! He really blew me away with his solid work ethic. He gave me advice about removing an erroneous judgment from my credit report, was helpful with the appraisal process, and pretty much walked us through the entire mortgage process. He did all of this in a matter of a few weeks, not months. Awesome. My next property — I’d call him again.

A few months ago I entered a big bank and asked if I was ready with my credit score and financials to start looking for a home. To make a long story short everything was fine until I ended up in a contact for a property. Things fell through with the big bank and I found myself in a complete panic, under contract! I had no idea how to proceed. I had heard good things about Angie’s list, I signed up and found Todd Kono with Value Mortgage. I started reading the reviews for him and the more I read the more I became convinced that he would be the person to solve this. One guy said that he never writes reviews but he was writing one for Todd, (that’s me). Another said that they were in their new house and Todd had made it happen. I want to thank the people who wrote those reviews. They were spot on! Todd was amazing! I am moving into my new home next week thanks to Todd! Within an hour after sending him an email outlining my situation he responded. I filled out an application and by the next day Todd had a plan. His plan involved some things that were easy for me to do and some things that were tough. I stuck with it and was constantly amazed at how Todd stuck with it as well. He explained to me that part of the problem that I had with the bank was because I was one of thousands of applicants. A bank doesn’t have the time to spend on applications that are not cut and dried. They want easy approvals, and mine was challenging. Todd never made me feel like I was an imposition, he answered all of my emails and calls immediately. I know he must have spent hours on this. I honestly feel that he should have been paid more than his commission for all the time and work he put in. However, I did get the feeling that Todd enjoyed the challenge. There were bumps in the road for sure but he stuck with me and the house closed only one week later than the original closing date. Thank you Todd Kono with Value Mortgage! You have made it possible for me to own my first home and you have given me quite an education as well. If I could do anything differently, it would have been to contact Todd a year ago to get the advice and support I needed before jumping into the home buying process. I will be referring everyone I know whose even thinking about purchasing a home!

Todd is a brokers broker. Literally. I am a veteran mortgage broker in Eugene with Chinook Mortgage and couldn’t find the price/​service here in town to get some fairly complicated refi’s of my own done. I asked a couple of my regular lenders for a referral and one recommended Todd. I try to give great personal service and it’s super important to me that we get the same when we need a service provider of any type. Todd was that guy. He didn’t even blink when I went over all the twists and turns of our scenario. He was knowledgeable and extremely quick and responsive. Almost to a fault… had to tell him to go on home a couple of times when he was still shooting me emails at 9:00 p.m. :)
Since I’m a sole licensee I can’t do my own loans anymore so I was reluctant to take a complex deal to a new person. We ended up doing 5 refi’s w/​Todd and they were smoother than I could have hoped for. It’s not often I’m impressed enough to write a review but I promised myself I would tell the world what a great job he did for us. Thanks Todd for the dynamite service!

Todd, with Value Mortgage Inc. is the best. He’s honest and trustworthy. As a first time home buyer buying a home is very scary and Todd walks you through the mounds of paperwork so when you go to close you know exactly what you’re signing. There are no surprises. If you’re wanting to buy a home and want to pre-​qualify he will tell you what you need to do so that process will be painless.
