Steven Johnson is the powerhouse behind Sonic Audio LLC. He has been installing custom car audio for over 12 years and has has gained an advanced certification in MECP. Brad at Sonic Sound is very knowledgeable and truly shows interest in what they do.
Phone calls were answered professionally and appointment was on time.
I had LED headlight install and am very impressed with the quality of service and product. They were very patient with my questions as I was worry that the LED might cause an error message in the dash.
Brad had a logical answer for everything that I asked. He did not do try to upsell anything. He has straight forward price quote upfront. He also ensured that he did enough research on the specific of my car before starting the work.
I highly recommend this place.

So… I was dumb and had to get a device installed on my vehicle for a year. You know what I am getting at. Initially, I had it installed at another place in Hillsboro. There were initially some complications due to my vehicle being a push button start vehicle. Well, long and short, I had to routinely go back to this place during the day to wipe the violation clear and address the problem. Through no-​fault of my own, the installation was not correct, even though they assured that it was something else defective. Fast forward to a new job and new location closer to my work. Here comes Sonic Audio!!! I called and spoke to Brad, and was able to explain the problem. Right away, he knew and made me feel at ease that again the problem was not because of me, but the bad work done before. I was able to make a Saturday appointment (yes…open Saturday and always open until 7 PM… SCORE). They were able to see the problem and complete basically a reinstall for me. They charged 1 hour of labor and to wipe the violation, but it now worked correct. They were friendly, knowledgeable and were fast at solving the problem. While I was there, they were working on a semi-​trucks new lighting. They have LED lights for vehicles there too. The customer was excited and happy to see the finished lighting product that they provided. I was curious about it for my vehicle and they were able to help swap out some LED turn signal, reverse lights and license plate lights while I was there too. All was done quickly, professionally and at a great price. They have a couple dogs there on sight that will gladly play fetch as well to pass the time. Slight drawback is sometimes it can take a while, but it is because they are busy. They are busy because people want to take their business there. The team there has earned my trust and business. I’m getting a couple more LED lights and any stereo needs will be done by them too. Thanks Sonic Audio!

Brad and Steven, are probably the most talented ambitious guys in this market today! Not only can they pretty much take care of every need for your car but they carry themselves very highly.
There are many places where someone can go to get car audio installations done, but why go to a place like Car Toys where the customer service is bleak and their focus on selling you something u may not even want or need!
Sonic Audio is world’s apart from those guys! They care about you as a customer and form a relationship and are always there to assist you in your car and audio needs!

Went on the previous posted reviews and had a great experience… both Brad and Steven are thorough professionals. Steven worked on my Land Rover Discovery II Series ‘2000 model.
He replaced the factory fitted Harmon Kardon tuner with an aftermarket Sony system that I had ordered online, which had HD radio and connected to Satellite Radio. Steven did a very neat and clean job of the installation including finding an ideal location for the Satellite radio antenna. Would highly recommend these two guys. They were super friendly and very knowledgeable and knew what they were doing. Thank you for doing a great job guys!

Not sure what’s the guy name, I was calling regarding gps tracking systems for 2 vans I own.

Brad was really patient and professional when it came to helping me find which subwoofer and enclosure type I liked best. The prices Brad gave me were very reasonable.
Steve worked swiftly and definitely deserves the nickname Sonic. Although he was swift, his install was exceptionally clean and the sound is awesome.

I’m so very happy with the audio/​backup camera installation Sonic did for me. They’re very conscientious, professional, and wanted to make sure I was completely happy. No question on that account. The install looks like its factory. The car was returned in beautiful shape. And they walked through everything with me to make sure I understood how to use it and that I was satisfied.
Oh, and did I mention they did it all for a very reasonable priced?
I would definitely recommend them (and already have).

Brad is the most knowledgeable and creative car sound guy I’ve ever met or heard of!
My Satellite Radio wasn’t working well and I was on a long road trip in my Nissan Frontier, sooo I looked on Unilocal for a good shop near Portland and found Brad at Sonic Audio. Don’t be put off by the little shop in a warehouse district. Everything was clean and really nice – and the coffee was good. I got an excellent new radio and an amazing bass amp/​woofer for a very reasonable price. They were able to hook up the radio and my iPhone through my steering wheel controls, a really nice feature. My dash looks better after this installation than it did before. They took time to show me how to work all my new stuff and sent me off with reliable radio and thumpin’ bass. Later I had trouble adjusting the brightness on my radio display and called Brad – he called right back and was able to talk me through the process on the phone. I highly recommend these guys and will definitely drive to Portland from my home in the SF Bay Area for future auto sound work – they’re that good.

Really happy and very impressed.
Had a stereo with Bluetooth and backup camera added to my SUV. After a high pressure/​low customer service experience at Car Toys, I vowed to find a place that didn’t make me feel like I was supporting something evil.
Thanks to Unilocal I ended up contacting Sonic Audio. They immediately emailed me an itemized estimate based on their recommended equipment and they were happy to help me find something without expensive features I didn’t want. I was able to schedule install within a couple of days, and everything went smoothly.
No last minute «custom» parts I needed to buy! No undisclosed costs! I couldn’t be happier and the install is beautiful. Highly recommend.

I searched a number of stereo shops in the PDX area to do an install on my 2015 Subaru XV Crosstrek, and I decided to work with Sonic Audio based on other reviews as well as the good feeling I got after first talking with Brad on the phone. He listened to what I wanted, asked smart questions, and made some great recommendations. Brad spent a lot of time with me on the phone and via email determining the ideal gear that matched my car and desires, and to follow up to a variety of questions I had. I ultimately decided to get a full acoustic treatment, amp, all new speakers plus sub, and to keep my stock head unit.
I dropped off my brand new car (it had less than 50 miles) and was kind of nervous to have the entire interior removed for the acoustic treatment to the entire car. Brad and Steven texted photos of their work throughout the job, which was awesome, and kept me informed of their progress. The Subaru XV isn’t known to have the quietest ride, and after the acoustic treatment was installed I noticed that the ride was much quieter and enjoyable, which is wonderful whether I have the stereo on or off.
I felt these guys do very high quality work, and that they focus on the details to get the job done right. I was very impressed with the quality of the install and the sound of the new system. Brad made the entire experience very stress free, and was always available to answer my never ending questions. I give them my highest recommendation. Thanks!

–on time service (I waited as they installed, nice comfy couch)
–once installed, they walked me through my device, made sure it connected to my iPhone, made/​accepted calls approp as well as played music
–looks like it was always meant to be there gave the dash a much needed overhaul
–I know if I need to go back for help on using the system, they’ll be there for me
–the audio is great quality. they installed an aftermarket pioneer DEHX6700BS
