I have been the Broker/​Owner of Duarte/​Downey Real Estate, Inc. since 1985. Although I have over twenty-​five years of experience in real estate, having earned my GRI designation in the late 80’s, I continually educate myself on a regular basis over and above the mandatory classes. I have extensive training from the Century 21 system and other educational systems.

Whether you are selling your home, buying a vacation home or renting a summer home, I seek to provide my customers with the highest possible level of service. Being a family-​owned company affords us the ability to develop and nurture close relationships with our clients. Many of our customers have been listing and renting with us for years, and return due to the high quality we are able to provide.

I hate making big decisions.
A bunch of my girlfriends are getting together this June, with a long sandy beach and a sweet tasty cocktail in mind. I thought about a hotel, then I thought about a rental place, then I thought about giving up and making someone else plan it. After much pondering and indecision, I decided to vet out our options for a rental home. I was hoping the visit would be early enough in the season to be able to afford it! I contacted one of the realtors, Jess, at Duarte/​Downey to help me choose the right rental for our group.
Jess was extremely professional, helpful, and informative, yet not pushy. She made every step of the process so incredibly easy. She precisely zeroed in on the features I was looking for in a rental home, and has gone out of her way to guide me through the hundreds of potential rentals on their site, sticking to my budget, keying in house numbers by memory and even going so far as to set up a tour of some properties to help me make the perfect decision.
And holy cow, do they have a lot of rentals.
There’s just something about the kind of service you get from a family owned company that you cannot replicate by a big brand like Homeaway or Flipkey. I can’t wait to stay here in June!

It looks like Duarte Downey has taken their Unilocal constructive criticism to heart. My family rented a house in Truro through them this summer and it was a positive experience from start to finish. They got right back to me when I e-​mailed, the house was clean and in good condition, everything was great!

I agree that this agency deserves the 0 star rating. We had the misfortune of setting up a month rental with them. We inspected the place with their well-​intentioned, but ultimately ineffective agent Nicole before renting an 8-​room house. There were some key, but minor repairs that needed to be done. Even though Nicole told us everything had been done, many windows didn’t work, rusty furniture had been thrown on the deack when they promised us new stuff, and a drain pipe was hanging down into an outdoor shower. This after Nicole reported that everything was in lovely shape and ready for our arrival. After repeated conversations to do a couple hundred dollars of repairs on a $ 15K rental, they ended up doing about half the stuff. Avoid, avoid, avoid!

I would give them 0 stars if I could. I have been trying to 3 weeks to arrange a summer rental with this agency and NO ONE has called me back. I initially was «working» with an agent named Rachel, until she apparently decided to not call me back. I called the office and spoke with the receptionist who stated that someone would call me. NOTHING. In total, I have called 5 times with nothing in return. It is good to know that they treat their potential customers this way. I wouldn’t even THINK of listing a property with them if this is how they treat people. For rentals or purchasing property, look elsewhere!
