History
Established in 1995.
Our home has been accommodating people since 1928 when it was first a tourist home with 4 rooms. After the depression, it became a boarding house providing a room and 3 meals to teachers who taught at the school behind the house. The business continued to evolve as the children grew up and became adults and their mother, Margaret became older. Carl Smith came back from the War to marry his wife Virginia and moved back into the home with his Mom. The only teacher who remained the entire time before it became a Bed and Breakfast was Margaret Elliot. Margaret moved out to a small cottage next door. The Sage Cottage was the first Bed and Breakfast run by Dori Norris. Dori took the business very seriously and added herb cooking classes combined with her love of gardening with herbs. We bought the house in 1994 and renamed it Gothic Eves, Bed and Breakfast. It started with 4 rooms and now has two houses with 8 rooms and we renameed it The Inn at Gothic Eves. We welcome you!
Meet the Business Owner
Rose H.
Business Owner
I am 56 years old, I lived in Maryland till I was 34 when I moved to Trumansburg NY to start this business. I was a plant Genecist working at National Institutes of Health before I became an Innkeeper.
My favorite things to do are almost all connected to being healthy and outside. Gardening, growing cutting and arranging flowers occupy some of my time. Scuba diving, traveling, hiking, skating, swimming and most any sport that requires you to be outside are my favorites. I love cooking and enjoying spending time in my newly renovated kitchen. Finding new local and organic ingredients to use in my cooking and creating new breakfast menus has been very challenging and great fun.
I have traveled to Europe, Thailand, Canada, most of the East Coast of the US and some out west on a number occasions.
