As a 3^rd generation real estate professional, I understand the intricacies of real estate transactions and use that expertise to ensure client success. Both my father & grandfather are commercial developers in California’s central valley; I grew up engulfed in real estate.

Upon receiving my business degree from Cal Poly, SLO in 1997, I immediately began my career in hi-tech. Not completely enamored with data storage (no offense), I decided to follow my professional and lifestyle passions. In 2004, I moved to Truckee and began my real estate career with what felt like a million cold calls and endless open houses. I’m proud to say, I am consistently a top 5% Realtor in the Tahoe basin through professionalism and dedication.

I am the only woman to have ever soloed the Baja 1000 twice on a dirt bike. Forty-two hours strait on a dirt bike through the Mexican desert; I have heart!

History

Established in 2004.

Since receiving my real estate license in 2004, I have been a million miles an hour. My first year in real estate, I received «rookie of the year» honors from my international brokerage of over 500 offices.

I am one of the top producing Realtors in Truckee and work hard everyday to maintain that status. There is a need for superior customer service in Truckee’s expanding real estate niche’ and my goal has always been to fill it. My client’s are always amazed at how far beyond the extra mile I actually go.

I recently worked with Talya on the sale of our home in Truckee and the purchase of a new home in Tahoe Donner. Throughout the entire process she overcame the many issues and problems that typically arise during the sale and purchase of homes. Talya is one hundred percent «customer service» oriented. At one point the home I was selling had a foot of snow in the driveway. Realizing this would be an obstacle for the would be buyer to gain access for a walk through, Talya used my snowblower and cleared the driveway prior to the buyers appointment. This is just one example of her problem solving ability. Her response time to my questions via text or email were and still are amazingly fast! I can’t say enough about her high energy and integrity as a Realtor. If you want an Agent that knows the greater Truckee area and is always prepared, I highly recommend her!

She knows her product, knows how to read her clients and get them exactly what they need/want, is a shrewd negotiator, and is really fun to spend time with along the way. Since we don’t live in Truckee, we needed someone we could trust to manage the purchase from a distance. My wife and I first contacted Talya on the recommendation of a friend who had engaged her to help with his home purchase in Tahoe/Donner a year prior. We had found a property online that we were interested in and we needed someone who knew the area. Talya definitely knows the Truckee area. She is a longtime resident of Tahoe Donner and like our family, is an avid outdoor enthusiast. She bikes, skis and hikes throughout the Sierras and recognized right away the importance of that to our family. In our search for the right home she placed a subtle emphasis on properties directly connected to the trails so as to find us a home that feels as if it’s a part of the system, not just close by. Without us stating so initially, it was precisely what we needed.
Once we settled on the home we wanted Talya’s advice was invaluable in arriving at a reasonable price that we were confident would get us the home without overpaying. She was well acquainted with the listing agent and the other agents representing other potential buyers. We felt very confident that she had a solid understanding of all the players, their positioning and that we would ultimately arrive at a win — win deal with the sellers. This is exactly what happened.
During the contingency period prior to closing, Talya was a real partner in the process. As we were out-of-town buyers, we needed her to handle our interests in the property precisely as if we were there doing it ourselves. She did this and then some. Without our asking she made multiple visits to the home to check on the property inspector, researched some inconsistencies with the address, addressed and re-addressed a maddening gas smell; even pulling the range out herself to test for leaks! She treated the transaction with the care and thoroughness of someone purchasing a home for herself and not a client. We can’t recommend Talya Dodson highly enough.
