History

Established in 2014.

My name is Lydia and I have owned and operated One Love Child Care for the last year and a half with a co-​owner. We have now decided that our efforts to help the need for quality child care in the Truckee/​North Lake Tahoe community would be better suited if we branched off and operated individual in-​home daycares. Therefore, I have created Tahoe Tykes in my safe, cozy, and engaging home in Truckee. The daycare is CA state licensed and I am CPR & First Aid trained. My love for this community and its families has grown over the years of being a pre-​school teacher (Playdate Preschool & School age) and nanny/​babysitter for over 3 years. I enjoy pretend play, arts & crafts, singing & dancing, yoga, and anything that gets kids moving and having fun!

Business Owner

I have been working with all ages of children for over 10 years, beginning as an elementary public school teacher in Maryland, then Reno, and then moved to Truckee to be a preschool teacher/​after school care provider. My love and energy for the little ones motivated me to take my career in a different direction. In October 2012 Ms. Lydia and a partner, Ms. Sarah began and operated a successful in home daycare in Sierra Meadows. Over a year had passed and we decided that there is a great need in the Truckee/​Tahoe community for infant/​toddler child care, so we realized that if I opened a daycare out of my own home I would be providing a great service for our community. I also have 12 ECE units from Truckee Sierra College, and am up to date with CPR & First Aid classes. I enjoy singing, dancing, making silly faces, and engaging children in gross motor activities. I also loves getting creative in the kitchen, baking, cooking, and getting crazy with art/​science project!
