Coldstream Adventures

A breathtaking adventure for the beginners and shredders alike in our group. I highly recommend Coldstream Adventures, Larry Hahn, the owner and all the fabulous guides that have a knack for making everyone feel safe and comfortable. We had a blast!

My family and I attended coldstream adventures when we visited Squaw Creek resort and had an amazing time! It was snowing an unusually high amount covering a majority of the trails we took, but we had an amazing time. Our tour guide made sure to check that we were safe the entire time and adjusted his speed to whatever we felt most comfortable. While we did get stuck in the snow a couple of times we were quickly helped out and safely made it back to base. I recommend anyone who’s in Squaw Valley to attend Coldstream Adventures!

Wulfe and crew are solid. We got the private tour guide and got Stein, and Stein! You kick ass man, big thanks for taking us on the best snowmobile trek ever. It was top.

Fantastic tour. Did not feel like a big group, despite being 13, and plenty of time for riding fast, if that is what you like. I highly recommend this company. Our guides Thor and Stein were great.

Tim was a great guide for a fun filled snowmobile tour up in the Coldstream Canyons. Zipping through the pine forests, the only limit on our speed was hanging on to the corners! Great scenery, almost like a private tour of the mountains! Definitely recommended for anyone with need for speed.

Scheduled a snowmobile outing with Coldstream REALLY early in the season, on December 1^st. We thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon. They ran good dependable equipment, delivered solid familiarization briefings and accommodated a wide variety of experience among riders until everyone gained a certain level of comfort. They also keep a wide variety of gear to support folks who may find themselves kin Truckee less than prepared, needing cold weather gear for their outings. I noted that they comfortably outfitted a number of people that day with highly serviceable gear. Can’t wait to do this again sometime!

Such a great experience! Easy check in with Larry and Tim our guide was wonderful. We’d never been on a snowmobile, just can’t believe we waited this long! Beautiful tour through trails, gorgeous views and all around best 2 hours! Looking forward to coming back with our kids next time!

Super fun and very knowledgeable and friendly staff. They take you on trails that weave thru beautiful snowy forests and into meadows. You get to have some fun in the open meadows and zip around at your leisure, have some «throttle therapy» they like to call it. Totally worth it, best idea and highlight of our trip. Recommended for single and double riders!

Wow! What a fun time! The staff members are very helpful and accommodating. The snow happened to be a little light this time of year, which really didn’t matter that much. If this is your first time snowmobiling I highly recommend this tour. I can see how this activity could be dangerous/​confusing/​frustrating for a first timer out on their own. The tour itself was well worth every penny and offered some awesome scenic views. I especially liked our tour guide who was very friendly and helpful… Must go!

We had the best time! They let us go for the last ride of the season and we really loved every minute of it. The two hour ride was the perfect amount for our first time. We saw some beautiful views up there and got to have some free time in an open meadow. Our guide was fabulous and made us newbies feel confident in handling the rides.

This is my 2^nd time going snowmobiling with this tour! I just can’t get enough of it!!! The guides are helpful, they try to make sure that each time that we came we had a different and new experience and that is exactly what we got. I get a little worried on some trails too and the guides were sooo nice and understanding, but even if it’s your first time, you will have an absolute blast! I recommend this to everyone going to Lake Tahoe!!!

Our first experience was simply EPIC so we had to go again. The second time we stayed at a secluded cabin (the only way to get there was via snow mobiles) and that was another incredible time. I highly recommend Coldstream Adventures –the staff is knowledgeable, courteous and friendly. They really know the trails and made sure we had a wonderful experience. You got to try it yourself to believe it! It’s one to remember. Our group talks about how much fun this was and we cant wait to go back again and again. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

This past weekend was the second time that I’ve done this tour. After the first one I literally could not wait to do this again. This second time was even better than the first! My group and I got to stay at the cabin overnight, and it was a blast. The scenery and the views are unreal. Words simply can’t explain how awesome this was.
The Coldstream crew was awesome. They were very courteous and professional. They are also highly competent and very knowledgeable about the terrain and it’s history.
If you’ve never been snowmobiling, I highly recommend it as something you HAVE to try at some point in your life.

Snowmobile tours are fun! My husband had never driven a snowmobile before, and it had been quite some time for me, but I miss the activities I did growing up in ND/​MN. Therefore we booked a snowmobile tour with Coldstream Adventures. 2 hour tour, there were about 14 of us + 2 guides and we hit up the trails and made some of our own. Beautiful scenery up in the hills of Truckee. Loved it. My fave part was when they let us loose in the meadow to drive around at our own speed and such. Guess who likes to drive faster than 35mph? That’d be me.

What a great way to end a beautiful weekend in Tahoe. My partner and I went to Tahoe for the weekend at the last minute when a friend had extra spots in his cabin. Needless to say with a few hours to prepare, and not having touched snow for years, I didn’t have much time to get organized for the weekend. The first day there, looking for something to do besides skiing on day two, I Unilocaled snowmobile rental and saw this small place that had a couple 5-​star reviews.
We get to the location in Truckee, attached to a Mexican restaurant, just after 10:00 am. The person on the phone said get there around 10, but no need to be there before. Well, when we get there everyone else is ready to go so we hurriedly sign the waivers and pick out a helmet. We get outside, go to our car (which we had mistakenly parked in the back instead of the front) and when we exit the parking lot to follow, everyone is gone. Fortunately, the other guy quickly got in his truck and led us to the location, near Squaw Valley. Reading other Unilocal reviews, this is not the first time something like this has happened. This is the only reason I am taking one star off. Don’t get me wrong– everyone was very friendly, but given that this issue is recurring, they need to tweak their system a bit or at least give you a map to self-​navigate to the staging area.
When we get there, the guides (two different people from the first two), were very friendly, helpful, professional and safety-​minded. The perfect sunny day with powder everywhere helped make the experience magical, but these guys were great. They took us to some bonus spots as well to really take advantage of the powder. They take you up a small mountain with several stops where you get amazing views of Northstar. I was wowed. A lot of the experience wasn’t just groomed trails, but smaller trails through the wilderness. This is a part of Tahoe I would never see unless I got good enough to backcountry ski or in-​shape enough to cross-​country ski. Two hours was plenty and it seemed like three.
I highly recommend doing this at least once. If you are up multiple days, it is a good way to take a break from skiing to allow your muscles to recover for the next day. Thanks again guys!

Wow! What an incredible adventure snowmobiling in the beautiful Truckee/​Donner area. We had some awesome guides who knew exactly what they were doing and were a lot of fun. Snowmobiling with Coldstream Adventures was well worth it and I will definitely go again. I’m excited to experience their other adventures, such as river rafting, horseback riding, kayaking, sleighriding, etc. I’m very impressed with the professionalism. Go snowmobiling before the snow goes away for the season! You will love it!

A great hidden gem. I went on a weekday and realized they had a promotion for $ 99. I booked it and they were very friendly. First you need to check in their office then drive to the location in a little bit outside of town. They go over key points on how to ride if you don’t know how. John was our tour guide. He took us around and was very patient and no rush when taking pictures. We stopped a few times to look at the scenery and went to an open area to have a few minutes of riding around without following the guide. We got our full time and a little more! I would recommend them and I’ll come back again

The snowmobiles were nice. Everyone was nice. We got there a bit too early. Signed up and Steve told us to meet at the staging site at 11:15 am. Maybe there was a miscommunication but we got there at 11:15 am and our group was ready to go and left without us. Tim, one of the tour guides stayed behind to take us (me and my gf). He took us on the trails pointing out viewpoints and a bit of history. Very very nice guy and patient about everything. The ride was gorgeous as it was lightly snowing and the skies were clear. Overall I highly recommend this place for your snowmobile experience!
