Uncle Ed’s Oil Shoppe

I just got my oil changed here today. They were friendly, thorough, fast, and had plenty of employees working. I came on a Saturday and there was only one other car in for service. It probably took about 20 minutes. They did try to up-​sell on a lot of items but in my experience, they do that everywhere. It was a little more expensive than some other places I’ve been but I’d still come back to this place for the good job they do and the convenience of the location.

I received some coupons in the mail from Uncle Ed’s and decided to give them a try. They advertised fast service, which appealed to me since I dread getting an oil change in the first place.
They got to me right away and did a safety inspection-​so far so good. They tried to up sell me many different things (the main reason I hate getting my oil changed in the first place). There were two other cars there and only two people working. What I didn’t understand was they would spend a couple minutes at a time with each car and then move on to the next, never actually accomplishing anything. Anyways, my «fast» oil change lasted about an hour and 15 minutes… about 45 minutes longer than I hoped for. After deducting my $ 15 in coupons, my total was still $ 53.00, which I thought was pretty steep.
I gave them 3 stars because they were very friendly. They were obviously very understaffed… an oil change should not take over an hour!
I don’t think I will be returning here, I am sure there are other places out there that are much faster and less expensive.
