I’ve been to the Troy Café a few times now, and while I haven’t had the gyro recently, the coney dogs and fries are still just as good as they’ve ever been. The place is small, quiet, and the prices won’t make you go broke. If you’re in the mood for something different, try the«special sauce fries». They kind of taste like thousand island dressing with Parmesan cheese sprinkled on top, something that my girlfriend enjoyed more than the chilli cheese fries, and she ‘really’ likes chilli cheese fries. I don’t have much to compare to concerning management, but it appears that their hours are now more on par with a normal restaurant. I haven’t been able to go very much in the past because they used to close before I got out of work.

Troy Café was one of my regular lunch spots. I went today and was so incredibly disappointed. They are operating under new owners, with a completely new menu. The place looks brighter, but the food was terrible. I had a gyro(who can ruin a gyro) and it was almost inedible. The lamb was not the frozen gyro meat planks, but it was so fatty and overdone that it left a foul taste in my mouth that even chewing gum and repeated tooth brushing is not alleviating. Rice pudding was made with very hard rice and was served cold in an unappealing way. Troy Café use to be a great little spot for quality food — not any more. I’m going to look for another lunch spot.
