Laurie’s Flooring & Window Fashions

We purchased a laminate floor for a large part of our home while doing a major remodel. The person who came to fill us in on the floor and what installation would involve was their best installer and very knowledgable. We felt confident going into the process — then the NIGHTMARE began.
When they came to install it was a different installer because their best guy was on another (more important) job. In the end, the installation was horrible with corners not matching up and other imperfections. Worst of all was that in just a couple weeks the laminate started to warp and one section actually started separating at a seam. We called Laurie’s and they said they would send out their «best» guy again to check it out. Of course he ended up being busy and they sent the original installer AND his father (supposed expert) to check it out. He instantly said it was water damage (we already knew that) and that it was OUR fault because it came from our dishwasher. They could repair it for $ 500. We’d already spent over $ 5000 on the floor and felt the poor installation caused the damage. They even had extra material from the job in stock. But since it was our «fault» they couldn’t do it free of charge. They even damaged the floor more while moving our refrigerator to check the damage. DO NOT USE THIS BUSINESS! They treated us with disdain and I actually told the «expert» to get the **** out of my house! I don’t treat people that way and it was out of character but this experience had made me reach my boiling point.
Bottom line — Laurie’s probably still has 5 boxes of our matériel in stock (hope so!) and I am sure that they have lost business from word of mouth (mine). We were led astray many times during this experience and treated poorly at every turn. I guess our $ 5K wasn’t enough to make it worth it to them to do the job right to begin with or make it right in the end. I hope it was worth it, because I am positive that an inexpensive repair not done has cost them more in the long term — I have talked at least 3 people into NOT USING THIS BUSINESS!
In the end we hired a local installer and got a good deal on just the right amount of matériel from another supplier to repair the floor.
