The competition for Mediterranean food is tough in Michigan. I wasn’t impressed with La Saj. I liked the garlic spread but the rest of my meal was just okay. The crushed lentil soup didn’t have much flavor. I think the Beef is much more tender and flavorful at other places I have tried. I didn’t finish the chicken because I had a bite that was complete gristle. Won’t be back…

This is my second visit, I had to come back to make sure everything was as good as the first time. I kept it simple and did the raw kibbie and hummus for lunch. Never have I had better!

Was driving by a commercial building, and noticed it had a restaurant sign. I was hungry, so went in. Nice place. Well done. Small and tight, but nice. Booths only fit very very skinny people and children. Tightest booths I’ve ever seen in a restaurant. But given how small the place us, figures they tried to squeeze in as many booths as possible. Service was superb. Great attend entice servers. Mine and all the others. Food. Above average. But given how many middle eastern restaurants in the area, this is good. Good menu. Too many choices. Huge menu. Nice soup selection. I ordered chicken vegetable soup, and chicken kabab in oregano sauce. $ 9.99 lunch price. Garlic spread/dip is SUPER garlicky. Soup was tasty. Not great, but decent. Chicken kabob is not kebab; its sauté chicken bits in an decent oregano sauce. Grilled Veg is weird; one whole mushroom head, 2 large slices of carrot, 2 slices of squash, and some potato slices. Not sure I’d call it grilled veg. Service and ambience get 4.5 stars. Food gets a weak 3 stars. Will come here again and try other menu items.

I think we found our new go-to place just around the corner from where we live. The bread here is really soft and fresh; absolute melt-in-the-mouth. The bread is why I would suggest you dine in rather than take out. But they have a fast take out service as well. We ordered the cauliflower/eggplant sandwich and the falafel/tabbouleh/humus sandwich. Both were really tasty. But I loved the cauliflower one. very delectable.

This review is for the carry out experience only. I did have lunch in once though and I would see no reason to think your experience wouldn’t be every bit as good as their carry out. This place has become my family’s carry out«go to» place. Everything we have had there has been great. My family of four(4 and 12 yo kids) orders the following: La Saj Combo #2 for 2. It comes with rice, grilled veggies, a choice of soup or salad(both are great) and a bunch of meats. We order an additional side of rice, grilled veggies, and a large hummus. The whole meal is not super cheap but it is less than $ 50 and very much worth it. There are a bunch of things I like and appreciate about this place that I think separates it from its peers. First off, the homemade bread is insane and they are VERY generous with it. I didn’t count but our last order came with north of 20 pieces I would guess. I always feel like bread is an issue when I order other places. Their hummus is world class and their garlic sauce is just right. Not at all overwhelming like so many out there. Lastly, its the little things for me… for instance, they give you both ranch and the more traditional oil and vinegar middle eastern dressing for your salads. It is a nice touch. Anyway, for me, having a carry out option that is reasonably healthy and this good is really a blessing. Cheers to the La Saj team for a job well done. You have earned a long time customer.

My family eats here whenever we shop around the area and I had my baby shower here. It is one of my favorite Arabic restaurants for many reasons. To start, the food is fresh and flavorful. The wait staff is attentive and friendly, plus the managers are accessible and accommodating. The venue is also beautifully decorated and they’re very clean. We booked my shower here because they have a private room that could fit the amount of people I needed and it has a gorgeous chandelier that I love. From start to finish, the event manager and owner made everything easy for us. They provided our party with a full staff that nicely accommodated our guests. Everyone raved about the food and enjoyed their meals. Several friends also hosted their parties there after us. I was glad to recommend them, their level of service spoke for itself. Their chicken cream chop and chicken tikka are my favorite. The kabob is also delicious and tender. They make fresh bread that is warm and server before your meal with garlic sauce, too. If you’re in the mood for Middle Eastern food, this is the place to get it.

The greeting by the manager kicked off an excellent meal. All the little things were right: tasteful decorations, prompt warm bread with a garlic butter, and a great recommendation. The lamb was cooked perfectly, not overseasoned, and generous portions left enough for round two for lunch. If you’re up for an adventure outside of the usual restaurants, definitely try this Lebanese restaurant. Will be back soon!

Called tonight to make sure we could come in without being dressed up… She said to come in however we were dressed! Very pleasant on the phone. Went in. Was there at 9:29… He said we close at 9:30 can’t help you. On the website and on Unilocal! It says 10:30. I showed the manager that would not seat us. His response was I’m sorry we are closed. The hours are posted everywhere. We drove 20 minutes to eat there. And he said«sorry.» Sorry is just not good enough buddy… I will never be back. And I’ll be sharing my experience with all.

We liked this place very much. The pita is amazing. Biggest problem is that it is so delicious, with garlic butter, that you will have a hard time finishing your dinner after stuffing yourself with it. I had a vegetarian platter with hummus, fatoush, falafel, tabouli and grape leaves. Very good. Servings a little too large, I hate wasting food! The service was prompt and friendly. We will go back.

When I found out this place was opening I was so excited, and now that they are open I am even happier. The food is AMAZING and very consistent. My order is always correct and because I eat at this place at least twice a week, the manager now knows what I order. Mike(the manager) provides the best customer service and he is always smiling. He remembers his customers by name and makes sure they are happy. I appreciate good customer service. This place will not disappoint you. I love their chicken tawook, hummus, fattoush and sandwich’s. It does not matter what you order because the food is great! Amazing food, service, and management! It’s a must try!

Beautiful ambiance, top notch service, excellent food. We ordered vegetarian. The falafel were just the right balance of crispy and soft and everything else was nicely flavored. A special shout out for the veggie ghallaba, which was one of the best dishes I’ve ever had at any Lebanese restaurant.

Being generous with a 4, probably would be a 3.5. Was super excited for this place to open and think it’s on the Grape Leaves level, so 3.5. I’d rather drive to Birmingham and eat at Pita Café if I have a extra 15m to deal w parking and the drive. Or drive 30m and drive to E Dearborn for the real tasty deal for half the price. Been there just twice, and people seem to love it, so I need to go back. Had tried their tabouli, hummus and shish tawook sandwich. Everything was good but not above average, IMO. Thought their tabouli was too watery too.

I’ve gone to lots of the Middle Eastern restaurants in the area and in Dearborn, nearly all are delicious but this one is a cut above. The bread was extra hot and fresh, the garlic dip had herbs in it, yum. I got the veggie ghallaba and it was particularly fresh and tasty. My friend got a veggie plate with hummus, grape leaves, falafel, spinach pies and I forget what else, and it was very generous and also good. It was all very clean and pretty inside and orderly. Even the kitchen area looked clean. So I’ll give it a rare 5 stars. Oh also, the prices are about the same as any other restaurant like this in the area.

Great food. Went there with the girlfriends for a evening of good food and chat. Had the grilled shrimp… enough to bring home for dinner the next night. Loved the bread and hummus. Wait staff was courteous and responsive. The only reason I gave it a little lower rating was they don’t have their liquor license yet. Once they secure this, it will be an amazing place. In fact, writing this is bringing on the desire for some of their hummus. I’m seeing a visit this weekend to La Saj.

Husband and I walked in very excited to try the new La Saj. The restaurant is smaller then expected, but also has a separate hall area. It was packed around 6pm Sunday night, but they were able to seat us right away! Food was great, we had soup, veggies, and hummus.(Great for a light snack). Can’t wait to try their entrees. It was a little noisy when guests would great their own guests. I noticed they were greating their own guests over tables that were seated with quiet families. It was a little too much — but what can you do!
