I work in the insurance industry. I called John to introduce myself to him and send some business his way for a friend that lived in the Troy area. I managed to get John on the phone for all of 15 seconds before he rudely hung up on me. Before I even got done telling him my name he rushed me through the conversation by cutting me off and asking me what I wanted. He then proceeded to rudely hang up the phone on me after hearing I work for a different insurance company without even asking me why I was calling. Little did his pompous self know, I was actually trying to give him a referral. I’ve been working in sales for many years, and this is by far the rudest, most self-​absorbed and childish individual I have ever come across. State Farm handles Auto and Renters insurance, great company. But John? No. John is jerk.

Pretty incompetent and refused to take responsibility for their own mistake. I ended up getting fined $ 300 by NY DMV because it took them a month to notify me that the automatic payment for my card failed (since bank re-​issued me a newer card). Told me that NY state legally requires them to send mail notifications only and immediately acknowledged themselves that those are pretty useless because no one notices them since they look identical to regular invoices. Didn’t notify me by email or gave me a phone call because that’s not what is legally required by NY state. When inspection is due, they are ok giving phone calls though. In other words — once problems arise, they won’t take responsibility and will try to hide behind legal technicalities.
