Dunkin’ Donuts

I walked into this Dunkin’ Donuts at 7:45am, with an hour drive on the highway ahead of me, and very little sleep the night before. In a daze I asked for a small regular coffee. The young guy behind the counter says «don’t worry, you have plenty of time to wake up». «Yeah, but I’m already running late for work!» I replied. He suggested I get a Medium Dark Roast for only $ 0.99, a bigger coffee costing less than a small. «Yes, please» I reply. After asking for a Pumpkin donut I realize that I have zero cash and at least a $ 2 highway toll at my exit. I show my debit card and ask if I can possibly get cash back, knowing that there is slim chance this would be possible. The employee reluctantly declined my request because they simply don’t have that option, but suggested buying a pack of gum at Wal-​Mart nearby where they would give me cash back without a fee. I thanked him for the suggestion and explained I needed $ 2 for my toll. Before I took my first sip of coffee he grabbed up a dollar and four quarters from seemingly empty coffee mug marked «Tips». He handed me the money and tried to refuse the gesture, not wanting to take what little tip money he might get that shift. He replied «If I got it, you got it, besides we can hardly divide this small amount of tips between all the people working today.» I thanked him repeatedly exclaiming how he saved my day. My debit card purchase was only for $ 2. This is the best coffee and donut I have ever enjoyed and the most kind and genuine service ever received. His name is Matt and he should be a district manager, training all Dunkin’ Donuts staff how to be heros, saving people’s day, one cup of coffee at a time. Thanks again Matt.

There’s no apoplexy quite like «how is it possible they fucked up my 2-​donut donut order at Dunkin donuts». And people wonder why there’s a jobs crisis — with the real crisis being people unable to do the simplest god damn shit imaginable — bring me the donut I tell you to bring me, can’t do that? Not only are you fired, but you’re going to jail where you can’t do any more damage with your inability at life.
I’ve never been more disgusted with humanity.

Used the drive thru to order 2 hot chocolates. We had no problems. Service was okay, and our drinks pipping hot.
