Excellent service from Amy. Food was very good, did not have to wait, seated and served very fast,

Not bad service, not bad food. Horrendous prices for kids. We took our 5 year old here for breakfast, she wanted two eggs, small side of bacon and chocolate milk. The chocolate milk came out in one of those grade school lunch containers… $ 2.39. Yep, the same ones you used to pay $.10 for in school, which our kids now pay $.25 for in school. Free refills? Nope. They didn’t have a breakfast for kids with an egg or two, with a couple strips of bacon, so they gave us the one egg breakfast, and surcharged an extra egg, and a ½ side of bacon… the total was more expensive that our adult meals. Drinks included with the kids meal? Nope. Total for her two eggs, two strips of bacon, and ½ pint of milk: $ 8.78. Their cost? Maybe $.30-$.40 cents. So, in the end, eat here as an adult, because the kid tax is ridiculous. There is a reason why even living a mile away, we only come here about once a year. Try the Red Apple, Troy Family Restaurant, or any other non-chain establishment for reasonable kids meal prices.

Had dinner at cracker barrel on Wednesday evening. Service was good and quick. But when I got to last of my chicken and dumplings I got a large piece of plastic wrapper with my bite. The waiter was standing at are table and he seen it and offered me another plate. I told he no that is was my last bite. I know things like this happens and I wasn’t expecting anything for free. But I seen him go over and tell the manager lady on duty and she looked right over at the table. She never once came over and said anything to us, I feel she should have at least come over and acknowledged the problem

While traveling to St Louis, we spent the night in Troy and dined at Cracker. The food was great, as usual, and one can expect to basically get the same meal at any of their locations. The server(some young guy) was extremely inattentive however. After driving from Chicago for 6 hours we were FAMISHED. We ordered soup and salad, biscuits with butter, and then told him our dinner choices. He roamed around for 7 minutes, and I flagged him down. «Where’s our soup???» I asked. «Oh, I’m waiting for it to come up. Let me check.» …and he disappeared. Next thing, our entire meal was served. I understand expo gets the order and then sends out the entrée when cooks put up on line, however when a customer orders SOUP, a server needs to get that IMMEDIATELY. Male manager was quick to see what happened and wanted to correct it. I told him it was fine, we just wanted to eat as we were exhausted. Commented to my friend that the server was VERYNEW. Hopefully his training will be improved on. Manager was quick to give table to a more experienced waitress who was impeccable.

Thursday 6:300PM…dinner with 2 adults &19 year old. Country fried steak. meat dry & tough tasteless, milk gravy super thick & flour taste — terrible. Vegetables all very good & taste. Hamburger sandwich with fries… very good. Adult pancakes… overly dry &TOUGH… hard to cut with knife & fork(2 adults labored cutting them… NOT exaggerating!) and tasteless. Biscuits decent but not excellent… same for cornbread. Gift shop excellent & fully stocked but food quality continuing to slide downward over the past years. Need stronger management & quality control!!!

One Star is way to much for this place! Rude very rude greeter! Two other ladies tried to help but they didn’t have the answer to why you can’t be seated if one of your party was about a mile away. Will NEVER go to this place again!!! Sad when you can’t even make it in the door before bad service starts!

The service was crappy, the food was ok, mine was luke warm again but everyone else’s was hot. The server(Cory) rarely came back to our table, he seemed annoyed that we hadn’t made up our minds after being told we weren’t ready and needed a few minutes he just said we will start here and pointed to one person in our party. He said he would be right back after putting our food order in to get a drink choice from one of the kids but didn’t return until after the food had come out. I told the register people I wasn’t happy about the service and they said«we hope it’s better the next time you come». They never asked what my complaint was not offered to get a manager. Guess what, you won’t get a second chance and this may be the last time I eat at cracker barrel period.

I’m one of those people who is always out of synch: Saturday and Sunday typically are work days, and the«weekend,» such as it is, might be Monday or half of Thursday and part of Friday. Or something like that. Four to six weekends a year, I might get an opportunity for a Sunday breakfast, as I did recently at the Cracker Barrel. What a happening place at 10:00AM: it was packed, we put in our reservation, and they got to us in «11−15 minutes,» as promised. Meanwhile, we enjoyed all the kitschy country stuff in the store. Gloria Gaither is a gospel artist: why is she such an authority on home cooking that she deserves a cookbook? These are the things I grouse about when my daily coffee consumption has been delayed 3 to 4 hours. I don’t need pancakes or waffles, and I never want grits or gravy. Two eggs over medium(perfect), bacon, and rye toast is enough for me. With lots of coffee. Good food, good service, good price.

Food was good as always, server was a little pushy with the down home act but I guess it beats the freaks at other places. Tried to get my steak and eggs sirloin cut into medallions and that was not allowed because they couldn’t cut raw meat on the grill. Wasn’t it raw when you put it on the grill anyway??? Really surprised how busy this place was at 9:30 on Sunday morning, thought church didn’t get out until noon!

Road trip from Arizona to Toronto(yes, we are that kind of crazy) and we ended up making a stop to eat here in Troy. We went off the highway trying to find a place to eat and nothing got our attention. We were about to go back in the highway when we noticed Cracker Barrel on the other side. Comfort food is just what we needed on that chilly afternoon. Our server was very friendly and we were in and out just in time. I like the bench and the flowers by the entrance. Very nice touch.

Had horrible service then had the worst experience with a manager ever!!! They handed a 7year old a very hot plate and the plate was the only thing that came to the table that was hot!

We had dinner at the other location and I was introduced to the Tabasco pepper in vinegar with my dinner. I love them so much so the next day went to Walmart to find it but they don’t have it. So we went back to the restaurant/store to see if they sale them but they don’t. The manager at st Robert location let us bough one bottle. I want more so we stopped here on the way to WI. The manager here know my story and he let us have two bottle. I gave 5 star for their service and the food also good.

This place quietly screams«comfort.» I go here once a week in the evening. Friendly folks, great home-style cooking, oil lamps on the tables, a fire in the fireplace, and Christmas decorations in the gift shop. A breath of fresh air in a crazy world. Since I included them in my favorite breakfast list, I will admit that more often than not, I’ll order breakfast for supper here! Love the pancakes with pecans and real maple syrup…(sigh of contentment)… BTW, Amy might be the friendliest server in the world!
