The Black Sheep Bistro

Great Food. Great Atmosphere. A fun little restaurant in the small town of Trenton, KY, just a few minutes from Clarksville, TN. Located in an old service station, the Black Sheep Bistro offers indoor and outdoor dining. Their lunch counter is an old auto lift. The staff is friendly. It seemed like a family run place. I tried the «Filling Station» which is a sampler platter. I ordered pulled pork, smoked sausage, jalapeño corn, smoked beans, and lemon asparagus couscous. The pork was excellent, moist and tender. The smoked sausage was great as well, with a little bit of heat. The smoked beans were basically baked beans cooked in their house barbecue sauce — good but not great. The jalapeño corn was amazing, corn with a creamy jalapeño sauce — easily the best thing I ate that day. I was not a fan of the lemon asparagus couscous. It was served cold, and I was not expecting that. My guess is that it is probably an excellent dish if you like that kind of thing. I don’t normally go for lemon, asparagus, or couscous. I was simply trying something new. Chalk that up to personal preference.
My wife had a Chicken Caprese with smoked mac n cheese. She loved it. Shredded chicken was perfect and the mac-​n-​cheese was creamy and cheesy with bacon on top.
The prices were reasonable, and the food seemed to be made from scratch. This is worth a trip off the beaten path.

I finally had the opportunity to try out the BlackSheep Bistro! What a wonderful place! The old filling station turned into a new kind of «filling station». All of the dishes coming out of the kitchen looked amazing, which made it difficult to choose what to eat. I had the pressed Cuban with smoked pulled pork with a side of white beans and Smoked mac and cheese. It was delicious! I can’t wait to go back and try more items on the menu! Thank You!

The portions are generous and excellent. The corn side was super. I highly recommend the Dark Chocolate Coconut pie.
The surroundings are that of a restored old time gas station, without the fumes and grease. A great to have a relaxed lunch and kick back.

Great southern BBQ with a twist! The Black Sheep Bistro brings you in with their amazing charm and get you to stay with their food. I stayed in Trenton for 3 days and had breakfast and lunch there daily. Everything I experienced was great. The sweet tea and complimentary pickles at the table made me feel like I was in the country. The owner Mike chatted with me every day and made me feel like I was at home with family. Then the food, oh the food. They had daily specials for lunch. Amazing sides (think jalapeño corn and smoked Mac & cheese) and great desserts. If you are in Trenton or just driving through, make sure you stop at the Bistro.
