Description

Specialties

2 Lads Winery is a 10,500 square foot facility located on 58 acres on the Old Mission Peninsula in Traverse City, Michigan. We currently have 22 acres of established vineyards in three separate blocks that were planted in 1999,2001 and 2008. We specialize in cool climate red and sparkling wines and have of small runs of white wines to round out the lot. Sustainably farming our land is paramount to the health of our soil, vines and grapes at 2Lads Winery. You get what you give!

History

Established in 2006.

Chris and Cornel (the «two lads») joined their mighty, superhero-like forces to fight the injustices plaguing the Northern Michigan wine industry — non-sustainable farming methodology, red wines that lacked depth and complexity and a need for a super cool tasting room! Our contemporary winery focuses on 6 varietals of grapes: 3 red and 3 white.

The unique wines we create from Cabernet Franc, Pinot Noir, Merlot, Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay and Riesling will tease your palate and excite your senses. We offer both wine tastings and unique food and wine pairing flights in our tasting room — you can also just buy a glass of wine, have a seat and relax with us for a while.

Come and see why we’re «crazy for reds.»

Business Owner

My time and experiences seeing people enjoy hand-crafted bottles of wine directly from the producer’s hands made a lasting impression on me as a kid. I’ve worked in the vineyards, cellars and tasting rooms here on Old Mission Peninsula and wanted to continue to buld upon the great work done here in the past and help to create a model for sustainable grapegrowing and the wines derived from that fruit. The satisfaction of farming, creating special wines and offering a unique and remarkable experience to our visitors is a source of great joy for me.
