Cute, cute, cute! This place reminds me of the furniture section of Anthropolgie, from the creaky wood floors and whimsical selection of home goods to the prices. They sell furniture, home décor, yard and kitchen items. A lot of the items here are unique and I enjoy browsing them. On my last trip I bought some candy dishes that are hand painted by a local artist. They were a bit pricey but unique to MI so I had to have them. The sales girls here are friendly and helpful enough. The store is worth a browse, just don’t look at the price tag.

Nice place. Most of the stuff is more expensive than I can afford. I came here with a friend and we started looking around. I found a really neat vase that was a very reasonable price. My friend found a cabinet/hutch she couldn’t live without… I bought my vase. The sales lady was so nice and I was completely satisfied. My friend talked to her husband about the cabinet/hutch and then came back later on the evening for it. I think they were quite satisfied with their purchase. If you are looking to purchase higher priced, higher quality home décor, this is the place for you. I recommend!

I purchased a candle holder during the Street Sale along with several other items. When I got home and unpackaged the candle holder(tape, cardboard, bubble wrap all inside of cardboard) I noticed the glass was broke in half. I went back on Sunday and they were closed so I went in on Monday and explained that I didn’t notice the item was broke until I got it home so the clerk went in the back to talk to the owner and came back to tell me «all sales are final on Street Sales». No options. No face to face with the owner. Just a big NO. Its unfortunate that she wouldn’t give me a $ 5 credit(the candle holder was ONLY $ 5) toward another purchase in the store or even the courtesy to come out and meet me. I was very interested in a sofa they had in stock – do you think she could maybe discount it $ 5? Amazing! The clerks were very apologetic and seemed embarrassed for the owner.

The Nest is a cool local place in Traverse City where you can find things like frames, vases, candles, as well as furniture. They offer interior design services to help you plan and design your rooms. They have great, unique items that you can’t find at chain stores like Pier One, etc. I usually pick-up small gifts for friends or home accent items at the Nest for my house during our annual Thanksgiving trip to Traverse City.
