I have to say, I’m impressed. I recently had a brake line rupture, which left me with no brakes while driving. I called and talked to Craig about my predicament. He told me I could bring it in right away and they would get to it as soon as they could. Within an hour or so I received a call from Jamie, he was polite and professional. He gave me a quote and told me he would work on my car the rest of the night. I was told to expect my car by 10am the next day, but Jamie ended up calling me at 9am to tell me it was done. It was a little more than I expected ($ 485 for brake line fabrication) but I was happy with the service and the priority they gave me.

This is a very good place to deal with. The brakes went out on our Toyota Sienna while we were on vacation. I was very nervous about finding a trustworthy place to work with and we had two 17′ kayaks and two bikes on the car. They got us in right away, diagnosed and fixed the problem and had us on our way. Everybody including office staff and the mechanic was friendly and polite. They even offered to help us remove the kayaks The waiting room was clean and what could easily have been vacation setback left us with only a good story.

I had a great experience with Dave’s Garage. The fit me in for a servicing of my car before a long trip to the west coast. They are polite, the office and waiting area are very clean; there is good internet connection. It turns out that to rotate my tires, a wheel key was needed and it was missing from my car. Not their problem or fault but mine. For the next hour or so, they tried every avenue of getting a key. Finally because they have good relations with their competitors, a really good sign of their being good businessmen and good people, the nearby dealership unlocked the wheels for free for me and as a favor for Jamie, one of the owners of Dave’s. That was a very pleasant surprise.
The bill was very reasonable given the amount of time they had to devote to this «routine» service.
I will recommend them to everyone .

I was looking for a place to have my Porsche serviced in the Traverse City area and learned of Dave’s Garage. I stopped by to introduce myself and learn about the garage’s ability to service a Porsche. The guys are really friendly, know what they’re doing and they are certified by Porsche. I made an appointment to have my car serviced — oil change, check the major components of the engine and transmission, etc. They did a great job at a reasonable cost. They told me the best part about servicing a Porsche is the test drive. Sound right to me. I’ll be back.

Great great and awesome. These guys do it right! In and out quick for a new muffler and my car feels and sounds amazing. The staff has magnetic personalities, and customer service is king there. They drop you off and pick you up free of charge as well. New favorite mechanics. Could not reccomend them more

As a woman, there have been times when I’m uncomfortable having my suv looked at, not any more! Daves Garage is honest and amazing, they do great work and I highly recommend them for your repairs.

My car died due to some electrical problems and Dave’s got the car back to the shop for a new alternator and had me back on the road in no time at all. Great service.

The horrible experience I had at Dave’s Garage occurred some years ago, in 2002, so whoever was involved may not even work there anymore. But it was so bad, I will never forget, never forgive, and always recommend people go elsewhere!
I once owned a white Mitsubishi Galant. I needed to have the timing belt changed. I decided to let a friend try to change it for me, since I didn’t have a lot of money, and he said he could do it for half the price an auto shop would charge me. Unfortunately this friend was not as competent as he thought he was. He had the whole engine torn apart before realizing he would not be able to complete the project. So I had it towed to Dave’s Garage.
The next day I get a call from Dave’s. The owner says, «Are you sitting down? Because your friend ruined your car’s engine by turning on the ignition while the engine was taken apart.» Apparently this caused the pistons to get crunched (I think? I’m not too familiar with engines) and was not worth the cost to fix them.
This was obviously very upsetting, but I thought my friend had made the error. He didn’t think he had done it, but he wasn’t confident that he had not. We couldn’t believe that the shop would lie about such a thing. Later I heard through the grapevine that it was actually one of Dave’s employees who had turned the ignition, and he decided he would pin it on someone else. By this time it was too late to do anything about it, and my car was in the junkyard.
Don’t go there!

My car was leaking some fluid and before we made the drive back to southeastern Michigan we thought we should check it out. We called first and went to Dave’s Garage and a very help service person (John?) came out and check everything under the hood. We didn’t have to wait at all and he didn’t charge us. He also cleaned off the iced up wipers and asked if he could do anything else for us. If we lived in the area it would be our place to take our car for repair. It was just so refreshing to have someone who didn’t feel put out for helping a customer in a hurry to get back home for Christmas.
