Sutter Tracy Community Hospital

I had a black out episode and 911 was called. They took me to Sutter Tracy. The bed was way to small and it was hard to stretch out. Most of the nurses were nice, but then there were a few who were rude and very uncompassionate. On the day I was to be released three doctors said I could go home. It took nearly six hours to get my paper work in order. I finally got up and got dressed and walked out. One of the nurses told me to get back in bed and wait for the discharge paper. I told her my ride was here and that she could mail me a copy of my paper work. She was rude and agitated, because I refused to comply with her orders
I told her they had no right to hold me and walked out. My ride signed my paperwork. This is the second time that I have had problems with Sutter Tracy. I will find a new hospital and go there from now on.

Came here because I have an infection that keeps coming back. When they took me in to give an urine sample, the bathroom was FILTHY. Trash everywhere, urine all over the toilet, gum on the floor, a hospital shouldn’t be like this. When they put me into a room, my Nurse was outside my door, talking to another Nurse about the patients in a VERY DISRESPECTFUL manner, she was very rude to me in person. When the doctor finally came in, he was trying to say that I didn’t know if I had an infection or not, I’m a woman, he is a man, I’ve had this infection before, and I know my body, and I doubt he has had this problem, he was also very rude. Come to find out, they never tested my urine at all. I will never go back to this hospital.

Sutter health insurance has got to be the worst insurance out there I’ll explain why 1 I just name had sugery on my hand an after that n eeded physical therapy so they give me 8 weeks so far so good but at the end of that the doctor said I needed more so he v ordered it it took them a month to ok 4 visits 1 day a week for 4 weeks an the physical therapist saw me she said my hand
Had regressed back go what it was right after sugery. iwent one day last week an she said what do they expect us to do with this .an i went back to the doctor .he said he could order more but you might loose what they’ve done this last 4 weeks. ok problem 2 I have gi. Problems also an my doctor for that has run all kinds of test an meds. for over the last 3 year then he finally found a med that would work the insurance company say they won’t over it how can anyone get better with this kind of coverage.

DO NOT COME TO THIS HOSPITAL. If you have the time or transportation to go to a different hospital I highly recommend you do that. I go into the ER with excruciating abdominal pain, and after tests we find out that I had an ovarian cyst that erupted. A man walks in without introducing himself, (DR. AUTHER ADAMS) and tells me that on top of what I already have that one of my ovaries are twisted and mostly likely will have to remove it which will reduce my chances of ever getting pregnant. (this is after another rude Doctor by the name of Jorge Gonzalez came in and said the same thing, but wanted Adams to come and confirm, I don’t know which one of them was more rude) I was in more pain after he told me that than I was coming into the ER in the first place. I was in tears because of the fear he put me in and not once did he say it will be okay or that I’ll be fine, come to find out he was the surgeon that was going to preform the surgery on me.
After the surgery, first thing I asked when I opened my eyes was if my ovary had to be removed, they said no. I was on cloud 9. Usually after surgery it is the doctor’s job to come and comfort the patient, tell them what happen with the procedure and follow up with everything. He failed to do so. When the nurse came to discharge me I told her I refuse to leave without speaking to the surgeon that preformed the surgery on me. 10 minutes later Adams calls the room that I am in, «this is dr. Adams, you wanted to speak with me?»
He was so rude. He didn’t ask how I was doing or how I was feeling.
I replied with yes, well I want to know how everything went and if you were able to untwist my ovary. His response was, «the ultrasound was misread. Your ovary was not twisted. Make an appointment with me in a week to remove the staples.»
I was furious. My biggest fear was that my ovary was going to be removed and my chances of having children will be decreased, and you failed to tell me that right away? Your job as a dr. is to comfort and take care of the patients that are in your care, which he failed to do. On another note, I had no idea that I had staples on me, because I was on heavy drugs after the surgery I was okay enough to go to the restroom alone and move around a little by myself. since it was the day after, the drugs and Anastasia had worn off and I’ve been in a lot of pain. If they told me I had staples I would not have moved as much as I did the day before. So they failed to give me a lot of information that I should have been told. Not to mention I would not have known any of this if I hadn’t told the nurse to tell him to call me.
As a patient I felt very disrespected, they failed to give me information that I needed to know, and trust me when I say they are very far from comforting. I can say the nurses that helped me were very kind, but that’s the only good thing I have to say. Other than that please stay away from this hospital. Guarantee you will be taken care of a lot better somewhere else.

Wish I could give ZERO stars, they suck, they don’t care about the patients, and expect to sit there for hours in pain. Go somewhere else if you can help it!

I’m rating my previous most recent experience …
I had excruciating pain in my abdomen all day by the time I went to the ER. When I got there the waiting room was empty with 1 person in front of me in the sign in log (I overheard their discussion, a lady with muscle spams in her back)… After signing in, we both sat, then triage called us back, then we came back into waiting room, labs called us back, then back in waiting room…
During the process of waiting, the waiting room began to fill. I sat there while the lady in front of me went in, and every person who came in after me went back… 2 hours have gone by, still sitting there waiting…
After 3 hours of waiting, everyone who came in after me has gone back, room has filled 4 times and empty 4 times… I finally go up and ask the nurse what is going on? She informs that other issues were more important than mine. I did not know horrible abdominal pain was so low on triage, under colds (which had come in after me, but went in before me, and had left)… that they had no empty rooms, etc…
After over 5 hours of waiting, I’m finally called back (the waiting room by then had filled and emptied over 4 times)… as they are walking me to my room I see nothing BUT empty rooms. Once back in a room I was out in about 2 hours. With no answer, no tests, nothing as to what is wrong, next day, and still have some pain.
Apparently you have to be a child, or senior and your seen right away, if your anywhere from 25 – 50 good luck getting seen no matter how much pain you are in. I could barely walk, but apparently a cold is more important then pain causing you to be weak, nauseous, and not able to walk much. Being told that my «problem» is not as important as others was the cherry on top of the cake.
The best part, is going to their website, an searching for hours there is no complaint form or area. So come Monday morning, I will be calling and filing a formal complaint. They need help with their triage, apparently whoever was in charge did not know what they were doing.
Also, they probably should have a separate area for people with air born contagious illnesses… so as to not spread the sickness…

My son and I were rear ended this morning. We went to the hospital for we both were shifted in this accident. Nothing broken, but pain was sitting in. Arrived at 10:41am.
We were seen and released at 4:54pm.
Only the charge nurse released us… which I later asked uhmmmm is the Dr going to tell us the results of our x-​rays?
Oh Rachel (PA) didn’t come talk to you.
My first question… was yeah… heres your sign lady.
When the PA return sure she told us what we already knew… muscle tissue was inflamed.
They released us.
No pain medication.
No ice.
No heat therapy.
We sat… that whole time, with nothing.
We were both given a subscription to get medicine at a local pharmacy.
Which we were in an accident… the pharmacy needed info from the adjuster to fill those prescriptions.
Needless to say… neither one of us were treated.
X-​ray and sent home.
Thank goodness we both can handle pain (well to some extent)
This hospital had poor bedside manner.
We saw the nurse twice. A charge nurse and a PA. Never a doctor. We were being discharge without even being told what the outcome was.
A nurse was rude in the beginning telling me she would not help me because I was on the phone, even when I said it was my personal doctor.
Which you think would be important to talk to him since he knows my medical needs.
We saw a poor young girl get her blood drawn… and poked 4 times… and the nurse had to call another nurse to asst her.

What the??? Went to the ER, all I got was blood test and did a EKG, the bill came 3 weeks later for over $ 4500!!! Charged a long list of $$$ with no explanation of what is for.

Was there with my mother to do X-​rays and the assistant was so helpful, patient with my mother
She helped changing cloths and getting for my mother all help needed to make her X-​rays correct

Absolutely love the labor and delivery nurses and the wonderful doctor that brought my beautiful daughter into this world. you ladies make all the difference at a time like this. helpful, caring, attentive just to name a few qualities the ladies at L&D possessed. can’t thank the staff enough.

ER visit for my daughter. SCAMMERS! They charge you as if you were inpatient when you’re not! She fell at the park and had a superficial cut below her eyebrow, all they did was put a little bit of glue on it on the ½ inch cut. We got a BILL FOR $ 1,700!!! When I tried contacting them no one ever answered, I just wanted the bill itemized and know why so much. It’s basically a SCAM.

Been here a couple times and love the staff. Even though I’ve been here twice (broke accrylic nail that was painful and felt dilarious at work) and love the staff they are professional and smart.
The people in the waiting room can be extremely wierd and creepy unless their elderly. I live in Tracy so I will come here when I need to, although I should get a primary soon.

I have to retract and give Sutter Tracy 2 stars based solely on their billing. After a family member spent 2 hours in the ER, the bill is absolutely atrocious! $ 8,000 for a simple CT scan? That doesn’t include the other elevated prices. It seems to me that this hospital is taking advantage of the patients that have insurance. Absolutely ludicrous!
From now on, if it’s not a life or death situation but need an ER, I’ll be driving to Valley Medical Care Center in Pleasanton. Funny… it’s a more affluent area but their charges are much less.

This review is for the labor and delivery. Just went through my second labor here. The first time wasn’t so great. I really was worried about having my second child here, But my doctor, dr. Nguyen is awesome and wouldn’t want anybody else delivering my second child. This time around was the best experience I could ever imagine. Carissa my nurse was the best. She made my experience so less stressful and took such good care of me. All the nurses this time around were great. If it wasn’t for my little boy at home I would have never wanted to leave. Thank you.
Just went in for an MRI in the radiology department. The ladies in there were awesome. Had one previously at another hospital it was awful. So far this hospital gets five stars from me. Thanks ladies in radiology

First time I’ve ever been billed by the hospital then got a follow up bill from the dr directly for services rendered at the hospital. Would never come to this ER by choice. Took 4 hours to be seen by the dr for them to give us a cup of children’s Benadryl. Billed $$$$$ dollars for a 3 second consult and a 5 dollar dose of Benadryl. Suggestions for improvement would be to streamline your lower priority ER visits (not critical condition) to have a RN on staff dedicated to get them in and out asap. Seriously felt like we were forgotten about.

If you’re on the brink of death don’t come here cause you’ll have to wait 3 fing hours. The doctors take FOREVER to come and see you and the nurses aren’t any better there seemed to only be one who knew what they were doing.

Another delivery and another ER trip later…
In November I was admitted to deliver my second daughter. The admission process was easy, even with me stopping from talking every 2 mins to breath through painful contractions. Nurses Penny and Kris were amazing. The anesthesiologist, not so much. I think he was on-​call from an outside hospital. No bedside manner and slow to prep for my epidural. As a nurse in a ICU in teaching hospital, I’ve assisted with many epidurals and other procedures. Even interns and residents I have worked with were faster than this staff anesthesiologist. He was so slow, I had to deliver without meds or epidural because baby decided she wanted to come out halfway through the prep process.
Spent one night in the hospital. Mom/​baby nurse during night shift was great. I was given the ok to go home the next day by my OB as long as baby was ok from pedi’s standpoint. The day shift nurse knew, but didn’t take the initiative to contact the doc until we had to say something that afternoon. Then it was a rush to get our discharge procedures and teaching done. We ended up leaving at almost at 6pm
For a trip to the ER prior to the hospital admission:
I had to take my mom to the ER after a day of dizziness, nausea, vomiting, horrible headache, and inability to eat anything. I hate taking anyone to this particular ER. The wait time was long as usual. When we finally got to the back, the staff nurses were pretty quick as far as procedures. EKG, IV, and labs were done within a reasonable amount of time. Here’s where I was impressed. In all my other visits, I had never seen the ER physician. Maybe an NP, but usually the nurse. DR Su came in and saw mom and asked her symptoms. He immediately said they were going to do a head CT to rule out any bleeds or processes in the brain. Love that. And then he ordered meds quickly and they started IV fluids. Dr came back again later and said CT was negative and determined that she had a bad case of vertigo. Now I usually never see the doc once, let alone twice. We got discharge instructions and then sent home.
Thank you to Dr Su and the staff on that evening for taking great care of my mom. You definitely changed my opinion of the ER that day.

I don’t make hospital visits a habit. Okay, I’m a guy, I go only when I need to. One night, I needed to. Emergency, here I come. My family and I were in Tracy at the time, so to Sutter we went. The problem was solved, out we went.
That’s the short story. The long story was four hours long. It could have been longer, though; they did the most important paperwork first, then got me into the exam room. We filled out the rest while I waited. .. and waited. .. and waited. .. hurry up and wait. .. I think they could have shaved an hour off our visit. It’s a smaller hospital than the one we use at home, so I guess you gotta expect lower service levels. .. but should you?
Personnel ranged from joking-​around RNs, no-​nonsense RNs, MDs that don’t tell you everything, and other staff that done good. Those who went out to see my family calmed them down and were informative, telling them things they didn’t tell me (???). This review is written before the whole insurance/​billing/​co-​pay part has worked out, so I can’t comment on that yet.
It worked for its purpose. If you have a choice in the matter and it’s not time-​critical, I’d say it’s a good idea to read these reviews and then decide which hospital to go to.

Short stay is amazing. I have to go for infusions regularly and I always have awesome care and wonderful people :)

Come here if you want wait for hours on end with no status provided. Shift change. I guess it will be a couple more hours.
Edit: I brought my daughter in for a squeeze of glue on a cut above her nose. The wait took hours and the bill wiped out our reimbursable spending account. I will never come here again. It’s a third-​tier hospital that will send you your first bill in the form of a late notice. Beware.
