Rumors on 10th

The only person I trust to touch my hair is Kat. She is so sweet and always does my hair exactly how I want it to turn out. I’ve been going to Kat for a year now and I am at the point where I just let her do what she thinks will look cute to my hair. She is always able to work with my schedule and get me in as soon as possible.

This place lacks class and quality. I walked in for my appointment and right away noticed several of the stylist do not get along… very high school. So if you’re looking for a nice place to get the quality you are paying for. this is not the place! These gals need to be schooled on elegance. You charge a fancy price then you deliver a fancy service. If I could give zero stars, I would. I walked out after few minutes. Let me add the girl chuckled on the phone when I asked, if they have color specialist. Not a picky person by any means. Trust me if you go you will see. Pretty sure it’s friends and family that continue showing up. Thumbs down. Hope they get it together. They have a fabulous location

I can’t say enough about Naomi. She has been doing special occasion makeup for myself and my daughters for years. My daughter was married a couple weeks ago and Naomi did the makeup for all of the young ladies in the bridal party as well as myself and my mom. As usual it was perfect! I would not hesitate to recommend Naomi to anyone! I would love to add a picture but I can’t figure out how. Take my word for it. Everyone looked stunning!

Brought my Granddaughter in today that had a REALLY bad dye job done. A friend of a friend that is going to beauty school, you know the story! Ashley took us in for an emergency visit as my Granddaughters Senior picture photo shoot is tomorrow! What an amazing job she did! She was so friendly and warm and made my Granddaughter feel so comfortable. Her hair is gorgeous and we walked away so happy! Thank you so much Ashley!

Had my hair done his morning. Left super happy with how everything turned out. My stylist was super easy going and had a great attitude. The faucet on the sink broke and she couldn’t get it to turn off. It was actually funny, stuff happens and her attitude was great. I really liked her personality and she really listened to me and what I wanted. Totally going back.

I went to rumors on 10^th for the first time a couple of weeks ago & had highlights done by Lacey, I absolutely LOVE them & she was really nice & fun to talk to. It’s a cute salon, I enjoyed the atmosphere. I will definitely be back!

I come here to get facials from Naomi. She is the best!
She knows what she is doing and my face thanks her. She customizes treatments based on your specific skin type. She listens to what you want and more importantly, she knows what your face needs.

Not sure where to start, I had the worst experience ever!!!
I went in for a hair cut and intended on getting my hair blonder. I already had existing highlights so I just wanted my blonde highlights toned to an ashy color. Well Tanya the owner was my stylist. Started off by saying that she could get my highlights lighter but she would have to pull each highlight one by one and that would take all night. First clue that we weren’t on the same page. Then she suggested on just adding a glaze to tone down highlights I said ok. Well long story short… my haircut was completely uneven. front layers are no where near even… my 3 inch roots look exactly the same as I walked in. And I paid $ 120 dollars for what? for a glaze that didn’t giver roots and an awful haircut?
Please do yourself a favor and don’t waste your money. To top it off my daughter also got a haircut which is also un even.

I originally had an appointment at salon down the street, when I arrived at 10, the doors werent even open. Another client was outside standing in the cold and let me know that her stylist texted her that she was running late. I waited for 10, minutes, the salon hours had 9 – 7, I was confused and not impressed. I really wanted a haircut though. I Unilocaled another salon, and Rumors was nearby. I called, the girl on the phone was real nice and said I can be seen now. I walked down the street. Ashley was waiting for me. She gave me good advice, was honest, and did exactly what I wanted. I am definitely going to return.

I was tired of driving to Sacramento for a very expensive (but well done) haircut and color. This place was awesome! I’ve tried other places in town, but this one is the first one I’ve been truly happy with. Truly a great place and a great price!

I love going to this salon! The atmosphere is very friendly! I go to Kateryna religiously and she can do me no wrong. I went to her to get my extensions cut and colored along with styling my hair for photoshoots. Love this girl! If you want to switch things up or just get a trim, this girl has magic fingers!

I’m really disappointed. I was meeting my mother in law for the first time. She came all the way from New York to meet me so I decided to get my hair done. The lady who did my hair was nice but she was new at the salon. She study at Adrian’s beauty college (I was terrify when she told me that because three years ago I got my hair done at Adrian’s beauty college and they BURN my hair (Terrible experience).
Anyways I try to be positive before and after getting my hair done. It wasn’t what I wanted. I’m pretty sad because I’m not usually picky about stuff. It is sad to saythis but I waste my money here.

I got a haircut from Tanya, she is short and she’s mean. omg! I will never go back.

I’ve been getting «mah hair did» from Tanya for quite some time now (going on 17 years?) and am FINALLY writing a review, better late than never, eh? I found her at the same salon where I had a not quite so great hair experience, and at 17 years old, that’s a TRAVESTY! I travel from the Bay Area to see her, she’s just THAT good.
I’m not the greatest of clients either, to ones that have NOT touched my hair. HAHAHAHAHA Imma picky girl and I’ll fully admit it (I don’t even like another to BLOW DRY my hair besides her), I’m glad (and prolly the other stylists) she knows my quirks and listens to what I’m thinking of and then telling me why it will or won’t work (no sugarcoating here) with my hair. I’m one of those that changes my hair color when the mood strikes me and do the upkeep like no other… No roots for this girl!
I can sit in her chair and say: Uhhhh idk what I want, you do it… and be TOTALLY happy with it. She’s taken me from long flowing locks, to short shoulder length hair (gasp!), blonde, red, and back to blonde to currently having a shaved side, all the while making sure that I am comfortable with all the drastic change I THINK I am ready for! HAHAHAHAHAHA oh to be a girl!
She expects the best outta her stylists and she teaches them well. Tanya knows her shit… and that’s that…

Let’s just say, I come all the way from San Francisco to see Tanya Garcia. After a horrible experience with someone who was a «curl expert», I came to Tanya and asked for help assessing the damage and fixing whatever she could.
She cleaned up the horrible cut, reshaped my hair and worked her magic to get my hair back on track.
I have been going to Tanya off and on for over 15 years (off, only because of geographical changes on both sides) and she has never disappointed; great cuts, great colorist, knows the latest styles and pays attention to your hair type AND to what it is you want done with your hair (even if it may not be in your best interest). She will tell it like it is and try and get you on the right path, because she is that good, but ultimately she lets you make all of the decisions.
Long story short… Tanya rocks!

This review is long over due. My first time at this salon was a very positive experience! The girls were very friendly, and the atmosphere is on point.
I love it, love it there and can’t wait to go back. Tanya colored my hair, and did a fantastic job. I absolutely LOVE the way the color came out. So does my husband!
Tanya is a no nonsense kind of Lady who tells it like it is and what your hair needs. She won’t sugarcoat it, if your hairs a hot mess she’ll tell ya, and what to do to fix it!
I love that kind of honesty, especially when it comes to my hair!
I live in Livermore and there are SO many salons to pick and choose from, but none as good as Rumors on 10^th, and I will defiantly be going back!

Lacey does a fantastic job with my highlights and bleach blonde color. She knows the trends and is able to deliver results. Communication is great, i walk out happy everytime! Ample parking, nice décor, hip tunes. The salon is clean and sanitary.

Whenever I am at Rumors I feel like family! Ashley has been doing my hair for 9 years now and I don’t trust any one else to even touch it! I have naturally curly hair so you need a very special set of skills to know how to manage my mane! My color and cut always turns out exactly how I imagined it! Ashley makes her clients feel extremely important and they become friends, not just customers. The owner Tanya is amazing as well and always makes me feel welcome! I definitely suggest giving Rumors and Ashley a shot!

I was not impressed with this salon at all. I had an appointment with Ashley last week. It was my first time at this salon and I really, really wanted to like it.
My first problem at this salon happened while I was sitting in the chair waiting for my color to process– Ashely started talking to another stylist about how she always charges new clients more than regular clients that come to the salon, and that she should start doing the same. As a new client this kind of made me think WTH! I am sure it happens at a lot of salons, but have a little more tact. You don’t talk about ripping off new clients IN FRONT OF a new client! In general I think these girls tended to forget that just because they may not be standing directly next to their clients, during chemical process or what not, doesn’t mean that we all of a sudden could not hear them talking. They would get together behind the receptionist desk and talk about other clients and things clients did or said that the didn’t like… not professional at all, save it for your own time, not in the middle of the salon.
The color I had put on turned out fine, no complaints (I just went a few shades darker brown) however when I got home I realized that the hair cut left the hair on my left side at least half an inch longer that the right and uneven layers. I ended up going to another salon to have it fixed.
I don’t mind paying a little more for good service and a good stylist, how my hair looks is important to me… but this definitely was not either of those things! I was EXTREMELY disappointed.
This salon was not a fit for me and I will not be back.

This being my 300^th review, I thought I’d make it an auspicious occasion and review Rumors.
An elite squad of aesthetic champions, this marvelous mass of make-​over mavens make me feel magnificent!
This is the best salon in Tracy. It’s so good, I drive from Livermore to Tracy because I love it here so much. These stylists know what they’re doing. That’s no surprise because it’s owned and opped by the legendary Tanya Garcia. It’s completely obvious that she knows what she’s doing, and knows how to keep the people who work with her happy. She also passes on her knowledge and expertise, which can only be a win-​win for any client.
I was her client before she started this shop. Because she’s so busy running things, I trusted her completely when she referred me to Lacey. Lacey has a different approach than Tanya, but it’s no less effective. She suggests colors and tweaks the cuts I want to accommodate my thinning hair. Best of all, she answers my questions and knows her products inside and out, and has on more than one occasion, made a special trip to a supplier to get the specific item I needed for my unruly hair.
Parking can be a pill if there’s an event going on in downtown Tracy, but that just means more people will stare at your gorgeous new do when you strut back to your car!
