Towson Computer Repair

Brought in my HP laptop for a hinge repair, and it ended up being a bit of a nightmare. They sounded very confident at first, said it should take one day and I could pick it up after work the next day. On Thursday they then called to say it would take more time to repair (now having it over the weekend!), and that the screen had been damaged — and I should pay for it. After agreeing to cover the screen, they then called on Saturday to say that the computer was not turning on at all, and they wanted to buy a new computer. The computer they suggested did not have many of the features offered on my computer (things you can clearly see: HDMI, VGA, two USB). Finally after a lot of back and forth, they ordered the same model.
When I came to pick it up, they said they were able to fix my old computer, but that they needed to charge me more. I only brought the specific amount we already agreed upon in cash. I had used a card for the deposit at an extra charge, so I refused to use my card again. Really, after them having my computer for a week longer than we originally agreed, I was hesitant to pay the original price.
My computer does not close all the way now, I have to manually shut it down or put it to sleep to turn off the screen. They just said ‘oh yeah that’s common in this repair, because the hinges are tighter now.’ ?? Very unprofessional, clearly a new company and still learning the ins and outs of customer service — and what jobs they should take.
I saw another one star review on thumbtack describing the exact same thing — unfortunately for me, it was posted on 5/​1, too late to save me the hassle!

First of all thanks for opening the store on a sunday! I am so happy to see my computer working again. I was tired of those pop ups showing up every time I would try to do anything! Now it works faster than what it used to (thanks for your suggestion to upgrade my ram)! Will recommend you guys to everyone I know!

Thanks a lot for fixing the DC Jack on my laptop! I thought i would have to buy a new computer as this one would never charge! I took it to best buy and they denied to do it! Dee and her team got my Power jack fixed for only $ 100!!! Thank you!!!

My laptop screen had broken and I needed to fix it urgently. These guys did a great job at reasonable price. Will surely go back to them for any computer repair needs!

Excellent, timely service and far cheaper than Geek Squad. I wanted to change the hard drive completely but they diagnosed and found this was not necessary. Cost me a fraction of what it would cost at Geek Squad. Highly Recommend!

I was visiting from California when my MacBook fell, and wouldn’t turn on. That’s when I went to Towson computer repair. and they fixed my computer within a few days. It worked great after. I highly recommend this place!
