At the PET+E.R., you can take comfort in knowing that your pet will be cared for by some of the region? s leading animal specialists. The team at the PET+E.R. treats each of its furry patients as if they were their own pets with the utmost care and compassion. As a leading emergency and critical care veterinary facility serving Baltimore, Towson and the surrounding areas, the PET+E.R. provides the highest level of support possible for pet owners whose pets are faced with the most severe emergency and critical care situations. The PET+E.R. has a comprehensive suite of emergency and critical care services all under one roof to handle extreme animal injuries and illnesses.
History
Established in 1986.
The PET+E.R., previously known as the «Animal Emergency Center,» opened its doors on York Road in 1986 when a group of veterinarians identified a strong need for a pet hospital that was specifically focused on emergency and critical care and that was open beyond normal business hours. These Baltimore-area veterinarians opened the Animal Emergency Center to support patients with emergency and critical care situations when their offices were closed.
As the hospital expanded, it changed its name to the PET+E.R. and, in 2003, moved to its state-of-the-art facility on Luskin’s Hill to better serve the veterinary and pet-owning community in Maryland. To date, the PET+E.R. is one of the only critical care facilities in Maryland that is fully owned by veterinarians and is open for patient care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
