GBMC’s main campus also includes three medical office buildings-​Physicians Pavilion East, Physicians Pavilion West and Physicians Pavilion North I. I am seriously questioning whom they employ in their billing department. I received a total of one (1) phone call regarding a payment of $ 15 that they said was due. I asked them if they could please check whether they had already received it from me, because I thought I had seen the $ 15 go out of my bank account already.
MONTHS later — as in, close to SIX months — I get a notice from a collection agency. So, rather than do their jobs and follow up on my question, GBMC turned my account over to a collection agency. Truly astounding. Terrific work.

While my daughter was there (today, 4÷19÷15), she said the staff was nice. And, the wait, well, we all know about an ER visit. But the attending physician forgot about her while she was being discharged, and went home. Isn’t that a pleasant experience. You’re definitely a number. The staff had to call the phy. at home and ask about discharge instructions. Awesome, huh???

I was sent to this hospital by an urgent care. I spent 5 days here and left with no resolution to my condition. Instead they focused on a pre existing condition I have and blamed that on my current condition. There was no relevance between the two. I dealt with all interns and non English speaking doctors. The best part were my nurses. They were very sweet. I will never go here again. Total waste. One month later and I’m in no better condition than I was. They failed me.

My Grandmother was in ICU and on her death bed and these terrible, money hungry people charge everyone for parking!!!

GBMC has served my family very well for 5 decades. It is the cleanest hospital. No sticky floors and NO smells. I don’t know how they do it but literally all staff speak to patients, family and visitors in the kindest ways and always offer to attend to any need. My Mother had a stroke and their ER team administered a magic drug that brought her back to normal after a while. I needed them for welder’s flash in my eyes and received prompt relief. Two daughters had 3 babies and 2 needed time in the NICU. All were the best experience.
Ps: the cafeteria is wonderful.

I love Gbmc. My doctor is awesome. He answers all my questions and concerns in the fullest possible layman’s terms he can find. I understand everything when I leave the office.

my father was a patient here and based on his admission, i would never allow my mother here.
the ER physician never examined my father — never pulled out his stethoscope. he did not even speak to my mother who was in the room. he did not tell her that he was dying and not expected to live through the night. instead, he simply called a hospice nurse who ended up being the one who broke the news to my mom inadvertently. as you can imagine, this is inappropriate, unprofessional, and most of all, completely devoid of compassion.
i have many other examples of the same in his 2.5 day stay. we were relieved to be transferred out of there, even if it was to hospice.
if you care about your family member, this is not the place to be, b/​c no one at this hospital will care.

I only had one small snafu at the beginning of my visit. When I came in, no one in the ER asked what my symptoms were just took my name and asked me to have a seat. I knew that I was in a bad position (at the end of the day, it turned out I was had sepsis and at this time I was bordering on septic shock, didn’t know that at the time though). I am not normally an indignant person, but I managed to get a bit forceful with the nurse, and about a minute later when the triage nurse took my vitals, I was rushed back into the ER. So, that being said. My ONLY bad experience was they didn’t stop to ask what was wrong with me. After that… I have only good things to say.
The ER nurse and doctors were friendly, thorough and gave me very fast service. I was only in the ER for a few hours before they admitted me up to a different unit for treatment. Could this have been due to the severity of my condition? Maybe, but because of how quickly they moved I’m here to write this review for you.
My nurses and doctors in that division were delightful, happy to help and took great care of me. In the end, I was able to leave after only a few days and to date I’m feeling much much better. If I had to be in a hospital again, I would go here. Though I’m not looking to do so again soon!!!

This is a wonderful hospital full of experienced doctors, nurses and staff. My father in law was here during his last days in the ICU and I will never forget the amazing people who took care of him.

I went to the voice center to see an ENT. In addition to charging for the doctor visit and the procedure (a larygoscopy), the hospital bills $ 1200 per hour for the use of their equipment. That’s right, $ 1200 per hour! Some of the time on the equipment was spent making small talk. My total bill for this ended up being $ 2569 ($ 352 for the doctor’s visit, $ 470 for the laryngoscopy, $ 1800 for the facility usage) for a procedure that has cost around $ 400 at other facilities. On top of this, I even called ahead of time to ask how much I was going to be billed and the administrator I spoke with said it would be approximately $ 1200 in total charges. So I was shocked when it ended up being more than twice that amount. So I would avoid GMBC for outpatient services unless you enjoy being gauged.

I worked at GBMC for a number of years and was very impressed by the hospital and staff.
I was being trained at Johns hopkins Hospital when I learned of an opening there and when I graduated, took a position at GBMC.
There was a great deal of in-​service training that I had to do at GBMC and was always impressed, after having spent a great deal of time at Johns Hopkins, by the hospital and medical staff — and by their high standards. I think that every person there had it impressed on them that we were always to insure that we delivered the highest level of patient care possible, that all other considerations were secondary. That has always stayed with me.
I was always very busy, worked hard, and often had long hours. The nature of patient health care there was that I left when the work was done, not when my shift was over. That made for some long days, but it was also very rewarding. I met a lot of good people there as patients, and it was always very satisfying when they were able to leave.

The WORST hospital experience EVER!!! Because of the lack of knowledge of Dr. Barwick in the Emergency Room, I am stuck to pay for a medical bill because of incorrect coding on their behalf. Please go to any other emergency room if you are able to. I would not want anyone in my position.

I worked for GBMC for almost one year. In my opinion, it was not a good place to work. Management was awful, and most don’t care about you. I went so far as trying to contact the President but, I was never answered. I had a few complaints that I addressed with my managers manager. I was told well maybe GBMC isn’t the right place for you. She was totally right. The pay is pretty good but, I happily took a pay cut for a better environment. There are PLENTY of people there that are WONDEFUL. I highly recommend GBMC hunt manor. The surgery departemnt is outstanding and the ER was great as well. As a patient I would recommend going. As an employee I would not. The turnover rate in my position was outrageous!

I had my daughter at this hospital many years ago so I was pleasantly surprised when she was in labor with her son and delivering at GBMC. Wow, what improvements they have made. The private labor room was spacious and well equipped. The nurses and staff were always available and quick to answer when we hit that button.
After the delivery, my daughter’s room, although very small, was clean and comfortable. Hardwood floors throughout and a great nurses’ station. She had a menu waiting for her and she got to order her meals when she wanted and had lots of choices. The hospital always has people coming in and out and that;s to be expected but the nursery did keep the baby so she could get some sleep. They also came very quickly when she needed more formula and diapers. I love their security system with the infants. No worries when the baby was not in the room with her. They do not allow children to visit which I think is a good idea. Only siblings are allowed. Four people are given passes and need to leave their license at the sign in desk. You need to have the card to get back to where the mothers are.
On the last day of her stay there was a group of moms to be coming through on a tour. I hope that they have the same nice experience that we have. It is so special to bring a new life into this crazy world so it was nice that the first few days of my grandson’s life were so welcoming.

Meet with Dr Chowdrey in the Oncology department. I have never meet a more personable doctor that put my mom at so much ease. She was wonderful and we are so happy we went to GBMC for my mom’s cancer treatments.

Been here a few times with other people, but the staff has always been friendly. The hospital is kind of confusing to navigate, but there are plenty of people to help you find whatever building you’re looking for. Years ago, my partner in crime stabbed a katana through the middle of his hand at like, 4 am (he was trying to fix the handle by balancing the open blade on the palm of his hand. He is kind of an idiot.). He was rushed to the E.R. and was out with sticthes in his hand (and lots of bandages around it). Two weeks later he got them taken out within an hour.
Another time I took my dad up to see a doctor about his hand (which he eventually had operated on) and everyone who was working there was über polite and respectful. Totally a great hospital, and on the off chance I would need to go to an E. R, I would probably come here.
