My fascination with aviation began at age five while riding in an open-​cockpit Boeing PT-​17 Stearman. At one point the pilot let me take the controls, and that was it, I was hooked. I knew in that moment, that whatever else happened, one day I would become a pilot!

I was living outside Boston in 1989 when I ventured to the local airport, and took my first official lesson. Over the next few years I attained my private, instrument, commercial, multi-​engine commercial, flight instructor, advanced ground instructor, and eventually, seaplane ratings. A quarter century later, I can’t imagine a life without aviation in it. My office has the most amazing view, and I’m eternally grateful for it.

I’ve recommended over 100 applicants for a pilot’s certificate, with a 98% pass rate on their first attempt. I can also boast a perfect safety record with no incidents or accidents in over 9,000 flight hours.

That said, this institution isn’t about arrogance, it’s about confidence, safety, and FUN!
