Torrance Marriott Redondo Beach

I’ve stayed here a few times. This isn’t. Based on one visit.
My room has gross looking splatter on the wall of you move the bed (2 bed room) to align it with headboard.
Check in is at 4p… Room ready at 5:30p.
At the pool ALL day with my kids, enjoying a beer or so as the day goes on. After being at the pool from about 9a, not getting loaded by the way— management comes out about 5p informing us in an arrogant condescending way that we are against policy bringing alcoholic beverages poolside. All alcohol is supposed to be purchased from THEIR bar. Yet you pay $ 200 a night to stay here and at NO point during the booking process (terms and conditions) or check in process at the hotel is this «rule» stated. If there is a rule… Tell us before so we may CHOOSE to stay at your establishment based on it. I told this to the two gangster looking managers then one rudely said «well at least you had a good day till now». Wow!
ALSO there is construction pool side. On a Saturday there is welding, sparks actually going over onto pool side patrons. Grinding. Hammer on metal sounds… And this is ironically WHY I was drinking. To tolerate the construction noise so my kids could PLAY! They came out with popsicles for the kids today— never have before. What about something for the people that actually PAY for the bill or choose where they r staying??? Instead they sugar up the kids REGULARLY and make it harder to parent.
There is a beautiful… Stress reducing… Double tree across the street. I’ve stayed there equal amount of times and next time I get it a room — IT WILL NOT BE A MARRIOTT brand.
It is about their needs and not the needs of the patron.

I don’t usually stay at hotels however when I do I have a certain amount of expectation based on their price and hotel name. For $ 170 this place asks that you pay an extra $ 12 dollars for wifi. Fast food restaurants have free wifi now days give me a break. The most annoying thing was the $ 18 for parking that is not included in the price, which they tried to charge me twice for because I had two vehicles.
As of 06÷11÷16 they have construction by the pool area. The construction crew started their jack hammer at 6:30 in the morning and it kept going for a few hours. Check out was at 11 however the cleaning service came to our door before 9am and without knocking opened our door and walked in.
Some other small things included: not having a mini fridge, places half the price have one. The electricity plugs are in extremely inconvenient places, I had to move the night stand to plug in my phone, the coffee maker was not plugged in and I had to plug it in behind the tv stand. When you walk into the room the place smells old almost moldy. There isn’t a light switch for the whole room, it just lit up the tiny area by the bathroom making it hard to walk to the other side in the dark to turn on the nightstand lamp.
The kids next door to us were smoking marijuana and the smoke was coming into our room.
The receptionist forgot to activate the room card to allow us to get out of the parking structure. When asked a few questions about the charges and services they shot back with a less than friendly glare.
Im not all complains, they did have a Starbucks and an alcohol bar in the lobby which would be nice if you wanted a coffee or a drink to forget about the bad service… Although I don’t expect it, it would be nice for them to throw in an included breakfast bar.
The receipt/​bill they slid under my door said $ 207 dollars (taxes included) at check out they tried to charge me $ 5 more dollars, I had to correct them and show them my receipt.

We stayed here recently while our house was being fumigated. It was over a long weekend. The rooms were very clean but nothing special. We enjoyed the pool because it had an indoor and outdoor pool area. I wish they had an area by the pool where you could get drinks and snacks.
It was an easy walk to the Del Amo Mall for things to do. We ate at Lazy Dog Café. I wish there was a restaurant at the hotel.
The hotel was crowded with a wedding and a party. They also had a lot of airline pilots and attendants staying at the hotel.
I would recommend the hotel but it isn’t anything special.

I truly LOVE this place. The wine bar is so great and there is a great selection of seating out doors with firepits for ambiance. The ball room is great for big events… And the food is good.
I recommend checking this place out.

Great location, across from the mall with several restaurants in the area. Still doing some remodeling in lobby. The room was clean and had a comfy bed, the gym is great plenty of cardio machines along with free weights. Will definitely stay here again.

Hotel is fine, the charges for parking are pretty weird though. I moved completely to the residence in on the other side as services are not that different.

walking distance to the del amo fashion center mall… literally across the street… couple chain restaurants also across the street… large parking structure, but $ 18 daily or $ 21 valet… didn’t want to risk parking at the mall or other lots… no parking attendant and credit card does not work when exiting… was a huge hassle to pay with bills and quarters… next day, wouldn’t take the last dollar, so ended up having to stick in a $ 20 and imagine getting $ 19 in susan b anthony dollar coins… after complaining, told that credit card payments need to be made at the front desk at the hotel before exiting… would have been nice to have a sign… enough about the parking nightmare… the hotel itself is staffed well… didn’t matter who the staff person was, they would pick up cups or trash… anything they noticed off, they would handle it themselves instead of calling someone else… hotel banquet food was actually pretty good… tender beef, tasty fish and chicken wasn’t dry… bacon thick and pastries good… actually have very good staff and service… rooms tidy and comfortable… now, just have a parking attendant at the exit if you are going to charge for parking and that would just make the hotel experience better…

Good location, next to a mall and lots of other amenities.
Bedroom (11^th floor), king bed was soft, 4 – 5 average pillows, popcorn ceilings!, small balcony shared with next room, divided by a partition. (My neighbor smoked out there though you’re not supposed to.)
Lobby: bar, restaurant & Starbucks where you apparently don’t earn stars.
Pool was indoor/​outdoor and looks cool. Small gym.
I think the best part of this is the area, and that its close to a mall & restaurants.
At only $ 114 a night (conference rate), a good deal.

Amenities nice.
accommodations average… outdated & absolutely no sound barriers. Ie you hear everything that happens on the floor. Every person coming in/​leaving, talking in groups, etc.
And beds hard as a rock. Odd… I’ve never stayed at a Marriott with such horrible beds.
Pillows nice& soft… just the bed atrocious. Stayed on 11^th floor, nice view at night… with little 5 inch balcony.
Nice mall across street.

Just ok. The hotel itself is dated. Fortunately it’s next to a mall with gorgeous, recently renovated mall, that features dining and shopping options for the whole family. I spent much of my time outside the hotel, thankfully. The room was pretty disappointing– definitely not what I’d expect from a Marriott: Popcorn ceilings, analog cable channels (read: expect static on every other channel), somewhat clean toilet and shower (rust and water stains), and an overall dark and dank feel to it. Looking forward to the renovation. Easy check-​in and surrounding amenities give this place the extra star.

I’m a long time Marriott rewards member, and I’ve been to some great property’s over the decades, but this is not one of them. I’m in town for a wedding and wanted to get a suite in case we need some extra space. They put us in room 1619, which is a time capsule from the late 1980’s or early 1990’s. Seriously, popcorn ceilings, stained carpet, stained furniture, stained walls, a motel 6 bathroom, and a phone line running across the floor. For the price I paid per night, I could have gotten an ocean view room at the Portofino in King Harbor just 5 min away. Unfortunately, it’s more important to be here with the family, but probably the last time I’ll stay at this property. The only upside is its location and amenities on the property. The staff seems nice, although despite check in being 4 pm, we had to wait 45 min because the room was not ready; probably needed extra time to run the phone line across the floor.

The hotel is located in a good location in Torrance– just next to the gigantic mall and near the main road.
Atmosphere: clean, peaceful, welcoming.
Amenities: the gym is small, but they cram a lot in there– a mix of 10 cardio machines, a few strength training machines, and a rack of free weights. It was busy at 7am, though I didn’t have to wait for cardio equipment, but not enough room to use the free weights comfortably. There is a Starbucks on the first floor. It takes the Starbucks card, but you don’t earn stars. The outdoor and lobby seating areas are very nice and comfortable. The bar service was friendly.
The king bed room: pretty average. The pillows are all feather, and the bed was very soft. The room is clean with a decent closet and dresser.

My gosh, I can’t believe Marriott advertises this property as a «newly renovated» one. I stayed here late last year on the executive level and was disappointed with the room. Also, their customer service is lacking… but I’ll get to that later.
The room I stayed in was on one of the top levels. I made the reservation through my dad who is a Gold Elite member. It was such a bummer to walk in and smell old cigarette smoke, see popcorn ceilings, and a bathroom from the 90s. Their Elite lounge didn’t offer anything special.

I would discourage staying here. The value isn’t worth it, especially if this is how their senior managers send emails to customers.

Was ok but for the price the room was older… And the furniture get some trace of cigarette burn and scratch. So not to bad, could be better for the price

Reserved 4 rooms on their official website, only get 3 rooms at check in. Won’t stay a marriot ever again.

I stayed at the Torrance Marriott Redondo Beach for the first time last weekend while attending a dance competition. The staff at checkin were friendly and the hotel rooms were clean and comfortable. Our room on the sixteenth floor even had a balcony with enough room for us all to go sit outdoors and enjoy the cool evening breeze.
The location is convenient, across from the Del Amo Center and several very nice restaurants and only two miles from the beach. In the lobby area there is a Starbucks with quick, efficient, legendary service. You can even use your phone app to bay, though the barista said only if your card starts with certain numbers and she has to enter them manually. Apparently my card met the necessary standards and I had a warm refreshing beverage in no time.
In spite of the fact that this hotel is surrounded by city on all sides, there are two outdoor areas where you can sit and chill. On Sunday morning I headed out to the Zen Lounge which has entrances next to Starbucks and across from the ballrooms. There are comfy chairs, rattan couches, shaded cabana areas, umbrellas for shade, even a fireplace, and intimate groupings of seating everywhere. The area provided a tranquil spot to peacefully sip my morning latte and regroup for the day.
Across the lobby, with an entrance near the restaurant, was Serenity Gardens. While far from lush, it lets you surround yourself with greenery and the tall hedges eight feet or more high shield you from the sounds of the city. There is wicker furniture to lounge in in the sun or tables and chairs where you can sit at in the shade. I spent about 15 minutes out here in the afternoon enjoying the stillness.
I drove here, but I did notice a rental car counter located inside the hotel, so if you’re flying in I’m sure you could pick up a rental car here as Los Angeles is definitely a city you need a car to get around and see.
I spend a lot of time in hotel rooms at dance competitions were we all keep quite a different schedule than the average tourist. We will dance till anywhere from 5:00 or later. In other hotels I’ve had an issue with the housekeeping staff knocking on doors (sometimes in spite of the do not disturb sign) and questioning us in the hallways as to whether we’re ready to have them make up our rooms. The housekeeping staff here at the Marriott was delightfully not intrusive. A fact my roommates and I appreciated greatly.
The event used up most if not all of the ballrooms and I found the staff working this area to be very friendly and helpful. Kudos all around to all the employees it was my pleasure to interact with here.
I look forward to our return next year.

I thought sleeping on the floor at my sisters house would be doable and then I came to the realization that Im too old to live like a college kid so I looked up the nearest Marriott to her house. Torrance/​Redondo Marriott came up and and I booked a room. My rate was $ 149 a night but for $ 169 it would include a hot breakfast.
As a Marriott Elite Member (if you’re not, you should sign up) I prefer to stay at Marriott properties. I was greeted and assigned my room and like most Marriott properties, the room was clean, spacious and offered all the amenities that I was looking for. The first thing we did was enjoy the indoor/​outdoor pool. The kids had a great time splashing around and running around the giant chess set.
There hotel was quite busy as there was a large wedding going on but the staff was outstanding. I was always greeted by name by the front desk, bell men and valet.
Definitely will be staying here again!

After a terrible experience at the Santa Clara Marriott I was hesitant about going here. I found that first of all the staff was more than willing to help, which was the opposite of what we found at the other hotel. The bellman was super courteous which was so nice after a 7 hour drive. The receptionist was so pleasant and helpful, knew who I was before I even told her as I had called that morning for a early arrival time. They had a room for me and offered any help they could.
The room was super clean and had all we needed at hand. We ordered some room service and it came so quickly I was surprised it was them. Then ONLY thing wrong was the sliding door did not lock. My bad for not letting them know. Other than that it was as good as it gets.

Excellent customer service and exceptionally clean.
Did I mention it was clean? Clean, clean, clean. I couldn’t find a speck of dirt anywhere. Not a a smidge of dust.
I spent A Thurs-​Sun at this location in early July for a family trip.
We are Marriott rewards members, and have yet to stay at a Marriott property that makes us unhappy.
The valet service was outstanding. By our second day, every single valet knew us by name.
We were greeted warmly with a smile and they each waited patiently as we buckled our toddler into her car seat (hey parents, you know that’s no easy task)!
The front desk staff was always great. always a greeting and a smile.
We used the sundries area one evening for some cookies. very small, but stocked with all the necessities and a few snack items.
The Starbucks in the lobby is a full service Starbucks. What a great option!
The wine bar is lovely. and yes, this lobby is LOUD. Tons of seating everywhere, and with weddings and meetings, evenings are incredibly busy.
Serving staff at the wine bar was also fantastic.
Our room was spotless. We checked in very late after a long drive from AZ, and the staff immediately sent someone up to our room to switch out the feather bedding (I failed to mention this at check in that I am allergic). We waited less than 5 min before she was at our door.
The buffet was your typical hotel buffet. Good with a decent selection of food.
This seems to be a hub for international flight crews for LAX, so we noticed some big groups in the lobby area every evening. Didn’t make wait times long at the desk. They seemed to have their own check in system already in place for that.
The outdoor gardens are wonderful-​and the pool area was fine. I held back a star simply because the pool needs a little help. The decking area, and the indoor area look tired The paint on the pool area and building are in need of refreshing.
Staff came around with popsicles for all the kids (how nice)! We’d definitely come back here when in the area.
It’s about a 10 – 12 min ride to Redondo Pier.

Donc, venir dans cet hôtel uniquement si vous n’en trouvez pas d’autres … C’est cher, et les tarifs né sont pas en rapports avec ce que l’on peut attendre d’un grand hôtel…
Personnel attentif, mais rien d’exceptionnel… En fait, ce Marriot est mal gérer concernant aussi les réservations et il y a souvent de l’attente pour l’attribution des chambre… Ce qui est inadmissible !!! :-(

Went for a banquet event. The place is pretty much what you’d expect. It’s a Marriott with a series of meeting and banquet rooms. Boring. Standard. Needs updating. It looks like a banquet room from the 1980’s.
Food was not inspiring. The salad was served with two choices of dressing — a from the bottle ranch or a way too sweet vinaigrette. Pass. Bread basket had some interesting crackers in it, so that was what I started with. Entrée was salmon and chicken. Since I don’t care for either, I asked if there was a vegetarian option. I did get a look at the salmon and chicken and it did not look enticing. My spinach ravioli was quite cold and clearly not fresh.
Dessert was this odd chocolate cake with a gelatinous fruity topping. Coffee was good though, and my request for extra cream was happily met. In fact, service was quite good and special requests were generally granted promptly.
This is a very standard banquet/​wedding venue with average to below average food. The Torrance Marriott could use some serious updating and work in the kitchen, but as it is right now, it’s pretty much the food/​venue you expect and are dreading when you RSVP for an event or wedding at a Marriott.
