It’s very cozy in this coffee shop, all the chairs and couches(indoors and outdoors) are begging for you to sit on them and hang out with your friends or study. I also just heard the barista tell another customer that they have live music every Thursday night. The staff here is also extremely friendly and very jovial! I wish I was a resident of Torrance, otherwise I’d definitely be a regular here!

The heart of this coffeeshop is finally the owner, Ms. Jenny Coen is now the new proud owner of Old Torrance Coffee & Tea. Same great amazing coffee, with the finest espresso, hand crafted beverages and service you will never find except here. If you have visited here in the past, I highly recommend you come back so you can sip a fine beverage and sit in a comfy chair where it feels like home. :) Congrats to the new owner of this fine gem!

Hey Everybody !!! New Owners!!! Grand Opening Celebration this Sat. Feb. 6th2 to 6pm. Mayor cutting ribbing around 2pm. Jenny and her sister Joanna took ownership this past Monday. This is the best coffee and tea shop with the most friendliest hometown atmosphere. AND they love animals!!! Most mornings I sit with my dog eating breakfast, drinking coffee, talking with the locals, and watching the dog owners come by with their pets. They all stop by to say hello to Jenny who seems to know everyone with her friendly joking. Jenny is so nice, she brings out my order to the outdoor patio and even creates parts of my food so I can give some of my breakfast to my dog. She recommends the drinks and food that is best for me as I have food allergies. Thursday nights are best as there is live music with the Open Mike where you can enjoy and support the local artists from beginners to season performers. The coffee and tea shop has created a very supportive place for artists to try out their talents with lots of constructive advice and wisdom from the professionals who come to perform too. Mike is there singing his original songs beforehand and is a great kind of blues /rock performer. See you all at the Grand Opening this Saturday!!!

Love this little spot! You can tell this is a community favorite. Came here randomly after an audition and got a macchiato. They do it traditionally here. So smooth. Staff was top notch too. Totally made me feel welcomed.

It was cold and we wanted coffee. Or tea. Whichever. I consulted Unilocal and found this charming little spot in an area of Torrance that was quite unfamiliar. Such a cute little place! The guy behind the counter was super friendly and helpful and answered every weird and possibly dumb question we had. My raspberry mocha was delicious(I’m not a coffee drinker). Definitely will stop back in next time I’m in Torrance!!!

Service wasn’t up to par. They had one guy behind the counter and he was working down a line of 5 people. Cappuccino wasn’t bad. There is an outdoor seating area as well as in door, although the inside is cramped. lots of street parking. Located in old town Torrance. Haven’t tried the food yet. They do have a diverse menu, I may return and update review. Time will tell.

I had originally rated this coffee shop 5-stars, but upon visiting the shop several more times, I realized that the owner creates an unpleasant air whenever she is there. You can cut the tension with a knife. The environment is great, the coffee is great, and I am sure that the owner is a nice person. But the owner needs to chill out a little bit.

Cute little place to get coffee. Not the best place to study since they only have two tables inside and an area in the middle where laptops aren’t allowed. I get it though, the owner wants it to be a place where people can come and read books or magazines, engage in casual conversation. It’s a great idea, just didn’t work in my favor that Sunday. Overall, friendly staff, good coffee, and some pastries that remind of my favorites from wilsons farmers market.

Regading Sarah H’s Review Apparently, she is one of those people who only recognize rude behavior when she feels she is on the«receiving» end of it. For future reference, ITISALWAYSRUDETOBRINGANOTHERRESTAURANT’S FOOD(MARKEDORUNMARKED) INTOANOTHEREATINGESTABLISHMENTTOENJOY! Just because she’s gotten away with that behavior in the past, does not mean it is appropriate. If she truly believes that anyone would think that she was not going to eat it there, that she was just going to leave it on the table, she is sadly mistaken. By the way, the Coffeehouse has only been operating for 5 years, so I wouldn’t lean too heavily on that«lifelong customer» business.

Came to Old Torrance Coffee & Tea on a Saturday afternoon. The parking was tight, with mostly street or curbside parking available around the area. However, what really stuck out to me was the fact that the area was pretty quiet for being in Torrance. I ordered the Spanish coffee and I have to say that it was prepared really well. You can really taste the flavor and the spice gives it such a kick! Also, the interior is small but very homely. Couches and arm chairs are in the middle of the space, with small tables hugging the walls. Overall: Nice cozy coffee spot to get away from the hustle and bustle of Torrance. Great quality coffee too!

WARNING! I will begin with this in hopes future visitors will not rate this establishment poorly because they failed to appreciate it for what it’s worth. This is not your ‘get-in, get-out’ type of coffee shop. There is often 1, maybe 2, people working and each drink and sandwich is made from scratch with love. If you come here in a hurry you mind as well turn around and walk out. This coffee shop is intended to slow you down and relax… take a deep breath and sip, not chug, your coffee down. I love this place! You know, there aren’t too many neighborhood coffee shops around anymore and since I live nearby, I try to show my communal support. Quite expensive… I can ignore this since its not your typical Starbucks/Coffee Bean run of the mill. By that, I mean, I can order a Green Tea Matcha smoothie with actual Banana, Berries, and, what keeps me coming back, Hemp Milk. If you are feeling like changing things up… try this. It also tastes good with Almond Milk but Hemp is my preferred ‘milk’ alternative ingredient. When I frequent Starbucks my only options are Lactose Milk-Induced Cramps of Death and Hormonal-y Fattening Soy Milk. Not to mention, you will have a variety of Hot/Cold drinks to choose from, light lunch sandwiches, and decadent pastries to feast your eyes on… if only for a moment, before you give in to the temptation and take one for yourself. The coffee shop is warm and inviting, dim, and comfortable with a ‘Friends’ vibe(the over sized couch is what does it). This is where you go to be alone. You may sit outside and take in the calm scenery, or, if its a Thursday, listen to some really good music as the day winds down.
Ordered the pumpkin cheese cake. Looked good until the bottom crust was carrot cake(with raisins ick) so threw it away. Wasn’t worth the calories

First time coming here, trying super hard to figure out something bad to say or to be cynical about but… I can’t. Here’s some points about it: — Small coffee shop with couches and some outside seating. Very comfortable but then again small. — The guy manning the store knew his craft. He makes good suggestions, and seemed to take personal care in what was being served(see re food below). — I ordered an iced chai latte w soy milk, friend I went with ordered a green matcha with berries and hemp milk smoothie and, oh snap. Seriously give it a shot. I kept having to have another taste of her smoothie lol. Chai was good too though. — Food ordered were the half pastrami/Swiss sandwich and the tuna sandwich(friends). Both were excellent. They came w assorted fruits/veggies, and one was a small cut out of a piece of Apple w I think cinnamon on it. I was impressed on the personal touches. It went further than«grab one of each side item and toss it on the plate.» — Don’t expect super fast service if there’s a lot of people there. There were only a handful when I went but it’s usually only manned by 1 maybe 2 people(so I’m told) and they do take their time w your orders so keep it in mind. So I’m impressed though first time there, I’m sure I will be back again and update as I go but solid first impression.

Love love love this place! Was looking to kill some time around Old Torrance as my car is currently at the mechanics. Walked around the area and decided to come here since it had free wifi. Definitely impressed. When I came in, the worker greeted me extremely peppy and friendly and the environment of the shop is to die for. Small but very homey and comfortable. Ordered an iced Toasted Nuts and a sandwich and she brought it out to me after I chose the comfy leather recliner. They have a lot of books and I can definitely see myself here again to study or just chat with friends. I do like how they would like to keep the couch area free from people using their wifi and have only chatting and coffee sipping there, very nice. The latte is the best mix of a roasted coffee drink. I’m in love. My sandwich came with fruit and I was definitely. Impressed with the flavor, the ham is not(or doesn’t taste like) store lunch meat at all! A+ in my book.

DRINK: I got a cold Pirates Chai which is actually a Chai Tea Latte with matcha. But I don’t think I’ll be shelling out $ 5.75 any time soon. They only had one size and it was 20 ounces and in general it was a little watered down for me. I was scanning the menu and most of their drink items were about $ 5 or more. SEATING: The place overall is a bit small. There are about 5 — two seater tables along the wall. Two long couches with a coffee table in between. And 1– one seater couch in the corner. PARKING: A lot of street parking but when I was driving through it was pretty filled. They have some residential parking it’s about maybe a 3 – 5 minute walk to the coffeeshop. STUDYING: Depending on which day you go, it can get crowded or there will be the coffee shop music playing outside. Although it was great, it might not be good for some people who are studying. There are PLENTY of outlets along side the wall. They have a strip going down the side of the wall so there is an outlet every 3 feet. COFFEESHOPMUSIC: Apparently every Thursday they stay open a little later for weekly events. However, I was there around 3 – 5 and they were playing coffee shop music outside. It was a hot day, and a lot of people were sitting around and just enjoying the music.
