We’ve now fixed two cars with Louis and had very positive experiences both times. The first time he ended up having to fix a broken axel seal for us. He did such a good job I then let him install some new shocks on my older truck– which he did beating the price of two other shops by a good margin. We will deff be back! Highly recommended.

Great place, the best experience I have had with a repair shop. You can tell Luis is an honest guy. He found a serious problem that the dealer never even noticed, and even with that extra repair saved me well over a grand what the dealer was going to charge. Will definitely come again.

didn’t like the experience i had. i had a car issue and i called and he mentioned the price and how long it will take and based off the Unilocal review i went. i waited an extra day because the mechanic messed up so i had to call off work cause i had no car. he finally calls saying come pick up your car and gave me the breakdown on what he did and stuff. that very night the service engine light appeared again and im like great, so i took it back and the mechanic said oh yeah i saw the sign and it had to deal with something inside the car (a part that was near to the part that was the reason i went there to get fix) and i ask how much will it charge and hes like let me talk to louis about it. it took them almost 2 months to get back to me after me going to them three times, calling them 4 times. i felt like it had to with something he fix but whatever. he called and told me its gonna take couple hundred to fix and for the senors we gotta test them out so another hundred.
the guys prices are legit and fair. seems upfront and straightforward but i was just unhappy how i still have a issue with my car.

Movis auto repair has been my mechanic of choice for almost a year now, and with good reason. They are courteous, quick, and inexpensive. However, what I appreciate most about the service is Luis’ honesty; it’s rare that I find a mechanic who does not try to mislead me about repairs or their cost. This is why I bring my 2003 Ford Focus back there time and again.
Luis is personable, provides helpful insights about car maintenance, and has the work done on time. When complications arise (my car’s kill switch once prevented them from starting it) he called me promptly to figure it out. They do good quality work too, and II’ve yet to bring my car in again for repairs done at Movis.
Movis is accommodating, cheap, and honest, and I’m proud to be a repeat customer. At least, as proud as you can be to bring your car into the shop again XD

Luis and Manny are the best mechanics in the business. I found luis several years ago when I was working in El Segundo. He replaced my brake pads on my BMW. He’s very honest, he’s a no bs kinda guy, and I actually liked working with him so much I drove from San Diego to get my alternator replaced. He won’t rake you over the coals in price, and he pretty much knows what the problem is before he even starts. You can trust these guys with everything. Mahalo for your help guys.

I finally found a mechanic I can trust with my car!!! After many bad experiences with car dealerships and other mechanics I was very weary on coming to movis despite all the great reviews. Luis gained my trust right away when he told me what my car needed and if I was in a financial bind the things that could wait a few months. Great service and hard workers who just enjoy what they do at their job.

Unilocal was right on. Luis is a very honest mechanic. He saved me over $ 200. Most other places would have been happy to take that from me instead. Great attention to detail, very professional. Thank you guys!

Been coming here for my regular oil changes. You are never pushed to do any work, but the guys are more than happy to let you know about problems that might happen down the line.

My family and I have been taking our cars to Movis for a few years now and they are phenomenal! My dad is usually very skeptical about trying new mechanics but Luis has always done a great job in getting our cars up and running pretty fast and now Movis is the only place we to go for our car maintenance. Louis has done oil changes, tire rotations, timing belt replacement etc to my car. He shows you exactly what is wrong with the car and if he feels your car is running fine he will tell you. He is a very honest mechanic (which is very rare to find). I live in the Bay now but when I am in town I always take my car to Movis. As a women I can guarantee you that you will not find another honest, gets the job done right place like Movis Diagnostic & Repair. Their prices have gone up a little (which sucks for me) but they are well worth it!

Luis is honest and friendly, two things that are difficult to find in a mechanic. He won’t waste your time or money.

Only mechanic shop I will take my cars to. Luis is very friendly and this is an honest shop. Never feel overcharged. Yes, it’s a bit of a drive for me, but it’s worth it. It’s important to trust who is working on your cars.

Every time I come here Luis does such a good job on my car, always checks to see if everything is okay and good to go! Been coming here for awhile now and will always be the place to come to get my car done! Oil change, air filter, etc! And good price =)

Luis is the BEST! I have been going to Movis for my Infiniti fx35, 1969 VW Bug, and a Ford F350 for 3 years now and he has always done a great job at a reasonable price. My friend thought I was crazy when we pulled in with the Infiniti yesturday and I just left the keys with one of his employees and said «have Luis take a look, there’s some kind of oil leak» and we walked home (around the corner). Who would do that? ME, Luis is so honest, friendly, and trustworthy. A couple of times he even dropped my car off at my house and put the key in the mailbox (inside the house) and I show up a week later to pay him (we are friends like that). He even offers to pick me up and bring me back to get my car.
Since I am around the corner, Luis takes test drives down my street and always stops to say hello.
I refer everyone to Movis Diagnostic and Repair and will have my cars repaired there each and every time. I know your reading this Luis, but I mean it. Thank you for everything!!!

I went there for oil check. My car needs brake peddle replacement. The owner gave me his price and told me to shop around. Not many people do that. I am coming back to him for sure.

I would reccomend this auto repair shop to anyone in need of some work on their vehicle. Luis is extremely helpful and I felt like I could trust him right away. Also his prices always seem more than fair. Best orices I have ever come across thats for sure. He definilty doesn’t try and push anything on you. He will tell you what is wrong with your car and let you know on the things you can wait on. Definitly give Movis a try!

The owner seems honest enough. He changed my oil for a straight up $ 30 dollars. Told me what was wrong with my car as I have had some lights on for awhile thanks to an error. Did not try to up-​sell me any services, which is good because I absolutely hate anyone who tries to up-​sell me.
Will go back when I need an oil change again.

We have a 2002 Expo (Ford) which chose to start when it wanted too. We (Wife and I) suspected that the issue was the fuel pump or the anti theft system. So after a month of dealing with not being able to drive the truck my wife found Movis on

Luis was willing to listen to an amateur diagnosis the issue (even though we could have been way off the target). I left the car and in about two hours Luis gave us a call and confirmed that the issue was indeed the fuel pump. We approved the work and Luis confirmed that the truck would be ready at 4pm (mind you we brought the truck in at 1030am the same day). We were not expecting for the truck to be ready until the next day or two days.
Thank You Luis, for all of your help. Like I said Luis I will be being in my G35 coupe to handle the rattling issue. Also thanks for the suggestions for Sushi in the Torrance area.

My whole family goes to Luis for a few simple reasons. (family of 8)
1. We trust he is giving us a good price along with the best interest for our cars not for him to make the most money.
2. Very friendly family man that will try to be flexible with your schedule and his even if he is extremely busy.
3. Does a nice quick job to get your car back to you as fast as he can along with quality job done on your car (did a brake
Job in about two hours)
4.always will listen and give honest opinion of your car without charging a diagnostic fee!

I had put off checking out my creaky, occasionally overheating 2001 Ford Focus hatchback until the day I needed to drive my friend and myself to Mammoth Lakes from Santa Ana and back. Working and going to school full time got in the way, and y’know, getting an oil change was never at the top of my priority list until that moment. Needless to say I was getting a little panic-​y the closer it came to having to leave to pick up my friend and head north and my usual car service place couldn’t fit me into their schedule last minute. Visions of my poor little car steaming and breaking down as I climbed up to Mammoth kept flashing through my mind…
But then after some quick searching I called Movis, explained my dire situation and low and behold, Luis, the gentleman I talked to on the phone, was able to move around some cars and said he could get me in within the next 20 minutes. They seriously deserve 5 stars just for that.
I did my best to zoom over to their location but not surprisingly got lost. I ended up getting there after about 35 minutes, fully expecting my open slot to have disappeared. On the contrary, Luis («look for the best looking guy there» he said when I called for directions and I said I was almost there) greeted me with great enthusiasm and took my car in right away.
Time passed quickly with Luis making friendly conversation and keeping me engaged and informed with what was going on with my car. He took me over into the shop underneath my car and showed me where my coolant thingamabob… thing…was cracked which needed to be repaired eventually. Also he did some quick troubleshooting and online research to check why my car overheated sporadically when I was in traffic. Since I was in a time crunch he explained that I could come back later to get everything fixed, reassured me that I’d make it up the mountain just fine with some cooling strategies if I saw my car overheating again, and charged me significantly less than what I had paid for just a plain ‘olé oil change at another station. If I could give 6 stars I would.
I’ll be going back soon to get those other issues addressed but I had promised myself that if I made it back from Mammoth without any hiccups I’d write a glowing review despite the fact that I hadn’t written any before. So… I had and I am. =) Check this place out, they provide great service for a great price.
