Compared to other buffets near by, the seafood and other dishes are great value for the prices they charge. If you don’t have crazy high expectations, you can enjoy the variety and quality of food you receive for the price you pay. I sometimes crave to taste a variety of foods so this is perfect for those times!

Doesn’t only have only seafood. Pretty wide. Food quality could be better. I would come back again though.

This place did not impress me at all. First, it was too oily I wanted to throw up. I had to take a sip of soda after taking the first bite. Second, there’s no flavor in any of the food. well, except for the beef broccoli. I mean, who can fuck up beef broccoli anyway? Third, there’s no third. I was so afraid to get a second playing of food. I wanted to get out of there and get a burger instead. Just a waste of money.

Looks better than before. Better arrangement of the food section and the tables. Pretty much the same food choices as Grand China Buffet, but instead of soft-serve ice cream, they have actual ice cream that you scoop out yourself. I like the stuffed crab shells. Boiled and peel shrimp and cocktail sauce is a winner. The sushi was not great. The service was very fast and efficient. But pay attention to your check! We told them that we are both seniors, which they acknowledged, and it was Friday at 11:45 am. But when the check came, it was for $ 36! I looked carefully, and saw that we had been charged for the Saturday/Sunday meal. They acted surprised and changed it(new price: $ 21, big difference!), but if I hadn’t been alert, I might have paid it.

This buffet is much nicer looking they the old China buffet. Service was great, food is pretty good and you kind of get what you pay for with the affordable price. 3.5 Stars

Shiny and newly renovated replaces tired old and not so clean former. New owners and layout bring great food and selection for it’s price point. Including better sushi and real ice cream was a bonus. Big thank yous for speedy plate clearing and drink refills by kind and courteous staff. Plenty of room to take on larger groups. A much needed improvement over former has been made and is a much appreciated welcome to a much better buffet dining experience.

The old Grand China Buffet has been replaced by Mikuni Buffet. The interior has been revamped and looks brighter, cleaner and larger. They’ve got various sections for the food. There is a Sushi section, a Grill section, a Soup Section, a Asian cuisine section and a Dessert section. I’ve always found that all Asian buffets are the same as far as food offerings. Here at Mikuni Buffet that was pretty much the case. They’ve got the fried rice, the chow mien, orange chicken etc. They did have sweet sticky rice which I haven’t seen elsewhere. Tastewise everything was just ok. I found the chow mein to be very bland. Some of their chicken dishes were a little bit on the salty side. I did like however the chicken with mushrooms because it had really big pieces of tender chicken. I also liked that they had real ice cream in there dessert section! They had big buckets of ice cream in a freezer(thrifty style)! They had chocolate, strawberry and two types of vanilla! This was a nice offering compared to the typical self serve frozen yogurt you normally would find at buffets. Mikuni Seafood Buffet is alright. Another buffet in the sea of Asian buffets.

Came here for a family gathering on Christmas Eve. They have your typical selections(Chinese food, salad stuff, seafood like crab legs, baked mussels, sushi and Mongolian BBQ) and desert. Service is good compared to other buffets. Seniors(over 60) get a 10% discount. They did charge $ 4 for a 3 year old kid who didn’t even really eat. Please check your receipts because they charge you hidden gratuity(for large groups) and it’s under«surcharge.» 2 stars for the lack of choices and the taste/quality of the food.

Meh… a couple high lights, a couple low points. All in all edible and decent. Sushi tasted fresh but the sushi rice tasted old cuz I got tough rice sometimes. Good service, Good prices, Decent food… probably a great place for a big party.

Just ok. They are quick to take off dirty plates off your table but don’t offer or take initiative to refill drinks. So had to flag down servers for refills on water. Doesn’t seem to clean =/

Perfect place to bring a lot of hungry people. For me, I came here after a baptism. They had a renovation and was formally known as Grand Chinese Buffet. I feel the food is about the same but they have an area to make stir fried noodles with your toppings just like Genghis Khan. Didn’t try it but it looked okay. They have a lot of Chinese main course items such as orange chicken, beef and brocolli, honey shrimp, fried rice. The fried rice was a but sad though, hard and bland. Seafood: crab legs-a little dry but decent, muscle and clam bakes(mayo covered and broiled), fried soft shell crab. Fried goodies: sesame red bean balls, donuts, cheese wontons, egg rolls. Sushi: california rolls, vegetable rolls, spicy tuna rolls, tuna and salmon sushi. Then they also have seaweed, daikon radish, ginger sides. They had some soups… and I didn’t have a chance to look at the desserts. Service was good in cleaning but refills make sure you ask. It’s decent, perfect to bring large groups.

This place use to be China Buffet. And it should have kept its name as China Buffet since most of the employees are Chinese. One thing about restaurants: if people of the culture where the cuisine is from is not majority of the customers, then the food isn’t authentic or good. This place, like China Buffet, did not have many Asians(employees excluded). The food was the same as China Buffet so don’t know why they have a Japanese name. It wasn’t better or worst than before. The selection was fewer than before though. It appeared to be cleaner than the old place. The old place was disgustingly dirty. Surprisingly the crab legs were not bad. Service was subpar. It was good in the beginning but throughout of time there it got less good. They did not clear our dirty plates until it piled high. Most of the workers just stood there taking to each or no where to be found.

Food is decent for what you pay! Not top notch quality, but it’s only $ 10ALLYOUCANEAT at lunch time. The sushi was pretty good and their Chinese section was good too. The people complaining about quality should go to a higher end sushi joint — you’ll definitely be paying more though! It’s a trade off!

Average about sums it up. Stopped by here for lunch the other day and there is a large variety of items to choose from but there is nothing that stands out and gets you really excited. Sushi selection is about average for an all you can eat buffet, California Roll, Cucumber Roll, Shrimp etc. a couple types of soup, salads, fish, traditional Chinese dishes. Fried Squid was overdone and rubbery, most of the other items were a little on the bland side, a nice place that can please a lot of people easily.

After seeing it opened, my family went to try it out over the weekend. We went soon after it opened, so there were not many people seated yet. We were greeted and seated right away. The décor looked a lot nicer and cleaner than the previous grand china buffet. I wish the servers spoke a little better English though since she couldn’t understand when we asked if soft drinks are part of ACYE or it is additional. We had one Chinese speaker in our group, so she ended up asking them in Chinese and she understood. The food selection was not bad. They had sushi/sashimi section, mongolian bbq section, carving meat section, chinese foods section, salad bar, seafood section, and dessert section. Food was not bad at least the ones that I’ve tried. Dessert section has a pretty good variety though and it has ice cream section where you need to scoop your own. The flavors weren’t really labeled though. Overall, I like this new buffet compare to the previous Grand China Buffet in many ways and my family enjoyed their experience, too. We would probably come back here. However, their service can be improved. Atmosphere: 3 stars Food: 3 stars Service: 2 stars Overall Experience: 2.5 Stars

Where to start? We’ve now been back some 3 times and in fairness this review isn’t about the food, service, cleanliness, its about our bill! Were seniors and as is the practice of this business to give a modest 10% discount to seniors. This is always nice and of course most welcome! When our bill first came I noticed it had 2 adult dinners which I mentioned to the hostess who apologized and took care & corrected it right off. However when she came back with the corrected bill the sales tax now states 9.75%? The first bill had it at the correct tax of 9%. When I inquired about this I was told it was rung up under the BOSS, instead of our actual server! Well what does that mean or have to do with the issue? Quite frankly whether you know its wrong or you don’t its on your watch completely and that’s no excuse for this type of deceptive business practice! At this point the manager, perhaps owner came over and I explained it once again at which point he left for 4 – 5 minutes came back with a completely different receipt, unlike the first two and said its been corrected, sorry but it was imputed wrong and continued to ring us up! All right so it was imputed wrong and you say your sorry and its a different receipt and on and on but how do «we’ your customers know your going to correct the problem? Oh & btw, this is most likely some proprietary restaurant software that has the current applicable tax for the city & zip code your business is in. Shame shame shame. What do you think the tax board will have to say about this and the proof?

At first glance, Mikuni seems like an improvement over its predecessor Grand China Buffet, but in the end, it’s still a 3-star Chinese/seafood buffet that will make you wonder why you came when the«value» you get for an AYCE is offset by the guilt you feel for eating so much in search of elusive gustatory satisfaction. Hint: You won’t find it here. Crab legs, crawfish, oysters, sea snails and scallops are the higher-ticket items you should mine if you’re in it to make money. The sushi bar has very mediocre sushi. I didn’t try the Mongolian noodle line, but it was popular and the fixin’s looked good. The normal Chinese buffet fare was decent to good. I always enjoy me some fried chicken wings and chicken sticks(literally, chicken meat on a stick, but don’t call it a kabob here) and they did not disappoint. The service was attentive enough, and the seating looked upgraded from other places, but check back in a year to see how it all holds up. I recommend this for large parties of people that need to get full on a budget. If this is a meal for two, do yourself a favor and just spend a little more money on less food you won’t regret stuffing yourself with.

Because of all the haters and negativity, I almost missed the opportunity to try this restaurant. I’m glad I decided to ignore it all and see for myself. After stepping through the door, at first glance alone, I’m impressed with the new renovation. The colors and open space are very inviting. The new floor plan leaves more space between the tables. The food displays are definitely spacious and modern. The food is NOTSPICY at all! I think some people may have over-exaggerated a bit! I found a few of the dishes were a bit inconsistent with seasoning. For example, the«Salt and Peeper Shrimp». Some were perfectly seasoned, and some were a bit too seasoned. I don’t think being inconsistent with seasoning, should give the entire restaurant a bad review! Another dish similar, was the fried squid. Same story… moving on! The sushi selection wasn’t bad. I actually liked it so much that I would go back just for that. The fish is fresh and they don’t display too much because they keep making the sushi fresh and putting them out. Every few minutes, I noticed they’d refill the it. I liked the«Tofu Salad», «Seaweed Salad», «Edamame», and«Sashimi». Wasabi and pickled ginger is available. They offer a Mongolian Grill. If you’ve been to Del Amo Mall and ordered noodles from Gengiskhan, you’ll like this. Infact, with the price-jack at Gengiskhan, you’ll come to Mikuni instead! Here, you plate your noodles, veggies, and choice of steak, chicken, or shrimp. They cook it in front of you, and season as they go. So NOTSALTY! I ordered mine with extra garlic and a little spice. It was delicious! Now if you don’t want noodles, it’s up to you. Some people just chose steak and ordered it medium… however you like! A1 steak sauce was available all over the place. There’s a tip jar, but it’s not required. Still nice though(just saying). They have a huge variety of food. Normally I don’t waste the buffet experience on «rice» or «noodles», but even their fried rice was good! A few mentions: Clams, Baked Mussels w/Chinese mayo, Crawfish, Fried Chicken Wings, Eggrolls, Pot Stickers, Ice Cold Peel-yourself Shrimp Cocktail, Baked Salmon, Soop-yourself Ice Cream, Fresh Fruits and alot more! The menu during lunch service is different from the menu during dinner service. Dinner provides Crab Legs and Oysters. $ 10.99 Lunch $ 15.99 Dinner and $ 16.99 Sat & Sun ALLDAY TOGO is $ 6.99/lb(sushi not included) Sushi is around $ 7 for 8 pieces. Also Seniors get a discount The place is clean and the staff is friendly. I’m not going to say the food is perfect, but you need to go in with an open mind. Expect that this is like a typical Chinese food buffet. They offer quite a bit of what you’d normally find but there’s more too. Also, I found the food very fresh. The only negative thing I can, but is pretty minor is the server I got, was horrible at refilling my soda. I kept pushing my cup closer and closer to the edge. My cup almost fell over. The guy clearing my pates, saw it, but chose to pay«Duh» and not refill it. Most places would’ve taken it and asked what the drink is. During my meal, I had to track him down three times. That’s crazy and silly. But because it has nothing to do with the food, I’ll eave it at that. I hope my review was a little helpful and more people give this place a chance. The food is decent and c’mon, for less than $ 20 including a beverage, their food can satisfy a good appetite. Enjoy and try it out! In my opinion, Mikuni is much better than Grand China Buffet!!!

There’s no difference to its previous name/restaurant, Grand China Buffet. The food is almost exactly the same. Beware!!! I saw flies on the assorted sashimi and also saw a worker pick up a tong that was dropped on the floor and place it back on the food. DISGUSTING!!! The Mongolian BBQ chef was on the phone, yelling, while making the food. The food turned out burnt and bland. On the upside, the servers were fast with clearing empty plates and refilling drinks.
