The Torrance plastic surgery office of South Bay Plastic Surgeons is conveniently located to serve the cosmetic surgery needs of South Bay areas including Redondo Beach, Long Beach, and Manhattan Beach. I never thought that I’d ever be someone that would want plastic surgery. That is, until I had 2 kids and breastfed both kids for a total of 3 years. I was a B cup before kids, and after I was done breastfeeding my youngest, I was a tiny AA. I could no longer fill out my bras, bathing suit tops, and fitted dresses. I was feeling pretty down about myself when I decided to look into getting a breast augmentation. None of my friends had gotten the procedure done, so I didn’t have any plastic surgeon recommendations. Therefore, I turned to Unilocal and that’s how I found Dr. Newman. From the moment I met him, he and his staff made me feel comfortable. He’s really easy to talk to, and doesn’t rush through the appointment like some doctors tend to do. After a couple consultations with Dr. Newman, I decided on getting a new type of implant called the Ideal Implant. The Ideal Implant is a saline-​filled implant with an outer-​shell structure that has a similar feeling as a silicone implant. Dr. Newman is one of the few plastic surgeons in the nation that has access to these implants. In fact, I was told that I’d be his first patient with the new implants. That fact in itself was a bit nerve wracking, but I trusted him enough that I was willing to be his test guinea pig. The surgery went smoothly, and the recovery was not as bad as I thought it would be. It’s been 3 months since my surgery, and I love my new breasts! I can’t thank Dr. Newman enough for the amazing job he’s done, and for boosting my self confidence. I recommend him 100 percent.

Dr. Newman performed my septo/​rhinoplasty in June 2015. The procedure was half cosmetic and half medically necessary but both portions were a complete success and I could not be happier. Dr. Newman was not only able to improve the aesthetics of my nose but also improved my ability to breathe. I’m thrilled with the outcome and my quality of life has improved exponentially since undergoing surgery.
The whole process from my initial consultation to my final post-​op appointment took about one year and everything from scheduling appointments, insurance and scheduling the surgery was incredibly easy. Dr. Newman and his staff are friendly, efficient and informative in addition to being such a comfort throughout a process I expected to be so uncomfortable.
I absolutely recommend Dr. Newman and his talents for whatever surgical procedure you’re considering; you will not regret it.

Dr. Newman was a true professional. He made me feel confident in his work and at ease the day of surgery. If you are as nervous about going under the knife as I was, then he is without any doubts your doctor. He was so reassuring and made me feel fantastic about my choice. His assistants in the office were a pleasure to work with-​they provided me extensive knowledge about various implants and incision sites. Sizing was the best part and they were extremely interactive and supportive. The entire experience was well worth it to include the month long recovery process (I thought would never end). 2 months later and I feel great, not to mention my gorgeous tatas.

Dr. Newman and the entire office staff at SBPS are amazing! I actually went to see him for a second opinion regarding Breast augmentation surgery, but my spouse and I felt so comfortable when we met with Dr. Newman, we didn’t hesitate to schedule my surgery with him. He spends a lot of time with you, answering all your questions and never makes you feel rushed.
Plus-​I am an RN and his surgical technique is impeccable!

I had silicone breast implants and one of them leaked after about 25 years. My ObGyn of over 30 years who is very well respected in the field highly recommended that I see Dr. Newman to have my implants removed (I chose to only have the implants removed and not replaced). Dr. Newman is extremely professional and is very attentive to my needs, questions, and concerns. He is very patient, respectful, and has excellent bedside manner. He was early to my surgery at ~6AM at TorMed, bright-​eyed and bushy-​tailed! The surgery went well, and I have healed very well with very minimal scarring after only a few months. I could not recommend Dr. Newman any higher. If you have any problem or question with your implants and need to have them removed or replaced, I highly recommend that you go see Dr. Newman. My family members and friends are in the medical field, and I am very impressed with Dr. Newman! I am forever grateful, and wish him the best in his career. At this rate, he will go very far!

Top notch and amazing!!! Dr. Newman performed a complicated «flap» breast reconstruction on me 7÷21÷2015 and I could not be happier with the entire experience. The result is beautiful and he is an absolute doll. Kind, patient, approachable and thorough. His staff is amazing too. So happy my surgeon referred me to him. I am eternally grateful for all he has done for me and hopefully will be able to use him for some elective procedures in the future.

I am 5’1″ and worked my way back down to 101 lbs one year after my pregnancy with proper diet and exercise, but my body simply was not the same. I found Dr. Newman and had a complete mommy makeover in August 2014. I have fully recovered and a year later I can honestly say, the work that Dr. Newman performed was stellar. Dr. Newman was very professional, friendly and easy to talk to. He listened to my many requests and gave me realistic expectations. He never over promised, but he definitely over delivered. I asked for the works and now I feel like I am a better version of myself and literally comfortable in my own skin again. Dr. Newman’s calm demeanor and energetic attitude put me at ease. He has a great eye for detail and is a very skilled surgeon. The staff that assisted me at SBPS were also extremely courteous. I recommended Dr. Newman to my friend and I would recommend him to anyone.

Dr. Michael Newman is a true talent to his profession. He is an artist. He is attentive, caring and has a great bedside manner.
I decided to write this review because I have spoken to many breast cancer patient and I felt horrible hearing about their bad experiences. I don’t wish any bad experience with reconstruction on anyone. It’s bad enough trying to get through the cancer treatment.
I had immediate breast reconstruction after a bilateral mastectomy from Breast Cancer at the age of 33. Dr. Newman was sympathetic to my needs. I never felt rushed. He educated me on my options and never pushed for anything. He gave pros and cons. He explained everything in detail and elaborated when I needed additional explanation. It has been 7 years and my breast look and feel great. The final outcome and the entire process exceeded my expectations. I took for granted how confidant I felt after everything was over and done with. I took for granted my great experience. The only regrets I have is not writing this review before.
Dr. Newman is a plastic surgeon in his own right. He’s the best of the best.

Dr. Newman is the 3rd surgeon I have seen to take care of a lipoma — which really isn’t that big of a deal. Because of its size, I have to have it done in a surgical setting and that is what has been preventing me from having it done. I have had two consults with a plastic surgeon, one at UCLA and the other in West LA. I saw Dr. Newman at the request of a friend who said he is a very gentle and compassionate doctor. I am completely fearful and have major anxiety for anything to do with the hospital. Everyone, from the time you walk in, is very friendly and helpful. I saw Dr. Newman, who squeezed me into an appt. He took his time and never made me feel like I was squeezed into the appt. After we talked about options for removal, he asked if I had any other questions or concerns, which I did and he thoughtfully and carefully answered all my questions. By the end of the appt, I wasn’t fearful and I felt confident and booked my surgery date. I have been attempting to have this removed for over a year now so I am really happy to move forward with the removal because it is causing a lot of discomfort due to its location. To me, what set Dr. Newman apart from the other surgeons was his bedside manner. He is very gentle and I felt like he completely understood my fear without me having to say anything about it. He looks at you when you are talking, he doesn’t interrupt or start shaking his head while you are talking — he was very polite and kind and has a very calm energy.

I had a lumpectomy in 2013 and Dr. Newman was so professional, polite and patient that it made an uncomfortable experience more manageable. I am in the medical profession and my anxiety and anger with having to go through this in the prime of my life… was made easier by having a physician who takes the time to listen and have a very ‘calming and non-​authoritarian’ approach. The unknowns of surgery are scary and the process of finding the right surgeon is even scarier. When I decided I wanted a breast augmentation, I knew 2 things: I wanted the best surgeon out there and I didn’t want to waste time or money going to multiple consultations to find one. I did the majority of my research online and that’s how I found Dr. Newman.
From my consultation to my post op appointments, every visit has been a pleasure and one that I greatly look forward to. Dr. Newman’s office staff are polite, friendly and outgoing. Dr. Newman is an artist and a perfectionist — the very best at what he does. I had a breast augmentation and a lift on one side. My breasts were different sizes and one drooped more than the other. Dr. Newman took my unsightly breasts and completely transformed them. My results are incredible and I couldn’t be happier.
To anyone looking for a plastic surgeon: I wish I could find the right words to give you the comfort you need to place your body in Dr. Newman’s hands. During my consultation, I knew he was the right surgeon for me and I believe his caring personality and calming presence will give you the same feeling.

Last year I tested positive for the Brca 1 gene, which gives me a 85% chance of getting breast cancer. My mom passed away of breast cancer at a young age so I chose to have a bilateral mastectomy, sparing the nipples with reconstruction. I chose Dr. Newman because he is not only experienced in this area, but he is cutting edge and a leader in his field. I have gone through three very complicated surgeries with Dr. Newman and I extreamly happy with the results. My breast look better now then they ever did before. It has been a long, emotional and scary journey and Dr. Newman has been very supportive, easy to talk to, knowledgable, thorough, and patient, answering all my questions (multiple time.) I truly feel Dr. Newman is an artist and extremely skilled at what he does. I feel blessed to have had him as my doctor and I highly recommend him.

I am a 61 year old who has been told that I could easily pass for a 40 something. After years of yo-​yo dieting, I finally reached my healthy weight but I was left with sagging skin on my stomach and saggy breast.
After doing my research, I saw 8 doctors; Dr. Newman was one of the finalists. What I really liked about Dr. Newman was his laid back personality. He was very patient and answered all of my questions and concerned. I had two doctors to pick from and what swayed me to Dr. Newman were the reviews on Unilocal.I like that Dr. Newman was the doctor that other professionals referred their patients to.
The surgery was a success and I was back to work in two weeks. I am five weeks out from surgery not only am I satisfied, but my boyfriend gives Dr. Newman two thumbs up.
I love it when I can walk around in a sundress without any support. One of the best compliments I have had so far, was from a gentlemen who said «Honey, you are putting these young girls to shame.» That is what Dr. Newman did for me; he gave me a 30 something body and I cannot wait to get back into the gym to get my «six pack» for bikini season.
