Dr. Friedlander is a board-certified general surgeon with fellowship training in laparoscopic surgery and can do nearly all abdominal and intestinal surgeries (including removal of the spleen or adrenal gland) with tiny incisions and a telescope. She also has extensive experience and expertise in breast cancer surgery, thyroid and parathyroid surgery, and hernia surgery.
History
Established in 2000.
After serving as Clinical Instructor of Surgery at USC, Dr. Friedlander joined the Association of South Bay Surgeons to focus on her interest in minimally invasive surgery. She uses her fellowship training in laparoscopic surgery to perform a variety of abdominal operations with tiny incisions and a telescope, including small intestine and colon resection and removal of organs including the gallbladder, appendix, spleen, and adrenal gland.
Dr. Friedlander has a special interest in breast cancer and endocrine (thyroid and parathyroid) surgery and makes every effort to give each patient personalized care.
Throughout her career she has published scientific studies in well-known medical journals and presented research projects at national medical conferences. She is a member of the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons and the American Society of Breast Surgeons, a diplomat of the American Board of Surgery, and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
