Maaco Collision Repair & Auto Painting

Came in for an estimate for a paint job. Chose the $ 500 paint job option… quickly turned into the bait-​and switch which resulted in a $ 900 paint job. Went elsewhere and got my car painted by an independent guy. AVOID CHAIN STORES! They always screw you!

Wow! We could not believe our eyes when we picked up our 1987 Volvo. It took my breath away… absolutely BEAUTIFUL. Seriously, it is just like new! Mario at Maaco found the same factory paint color from Volvo and the car now looks like it just rolled off the showroom floor. 30 years of paint wear and aging… gone! Better than I expected, by far.

I took my 04 accura TL for a complete paint job last week Monday, and when I picked it up Friday, I was really happy for the great job they did, my car looks brand new and the paint was matched perfectly. I didn’t excpect such an amazing work but thanks to Mario and everyone worked on my car. I love it and it looks awesome.

I came in to get a deep scratch on my drivers door fixed. Mario was super helpful. He worked with my schedule and provided speedy service. There were a few spots/​dents they fixed along with my scratch that I didn’t expect! My car looked like it is new now! Lastly, their prices are very reasonable.

Im now updating my review. I first gave them 4 stars. But now down to one. For the simple fact that my paint on my car is now chipping! It hasnt even been two months yet and its starting to chip! And the spots where it has chipped u can see its a very thin layer of paint. It came with a 5 year warranty which i was told doesnt cover chipping! What a waste of $ 1400 ! I dont recommend this place! Not because the quality of the work but the quailty of the paint!!!

I made a mistake of going to the Gardena Maaco location, they ended up ruining my car and I had to get the headquarter involved. They lead me to this place (Torrance Maaco) and they were much more friendly and professional. They called me right after the job was done (Gardena Maaco, you have to call them in yourself because they forget) and I was able to pick up my car today. It looked fantastic. They had fixed up all of the mistakes that Gardena location made and now I just need to go back in one more time to get the little spot in my rear bumper repainted (have to wait for the body guy). I will update again after the whole car is fixed!

We took our sons cars and had one painted the sane color, due to clear coat coming off and the other car we painted a different color due to the same reason. Mario Ramirez was very attentive and we were very satisfied with the work they did! I would recommend this place to family and friends. I’m so happy we decided to do this and both cars look great!

Took my 2005 Ford Excursion and the truck was painted beautifully. I was worried about the color and the actual minor body-​work but the paint looks thick and rich, the Silver color is gorgeous, it’s primarily grey and semi-​purple tone, very nice!

Had a paint job 3 years ago. paid over 1000 dollars. have waxed every month like they suggested. paint now has pitted. and gone white. utter waste of money. people say. its a failure of the clear coat. these guys are just out to get your money. and should be stopped. paint is a waste of your money. DONT waste your money

Our 2002 Chevy truck needed to be painted, took it to this Maaco on Western and they did an excellent job at such a fair price! We chose the factory platinum. they did an excellent job and finished when they said they would. Mario was a great help and really took pride in the work!!! I would recommend this Maaco without hesitation.

This place does a amazing job on paint! I got a few big scratches that needed to be painted o my front bumper and they fixed it looking like its brand new! Crazy. They do really good job and fast service. Mario helped us out!

I had a work truck painted that was in BAD shape. Needed a fender, bumper and grill replaced AND a tailgate. Mario and George were great. Professional friendly and caring.
I brought them the fender, tailgate and bumper. But I know they went WAAAAY beyond the call of duty to align everything and get that truck straight.
They painted the truck in a timely manner and were just incredibly understanding and helpful.
The paint job was perfect, no overspray, all the black trim was masked off professionally, the finish was as smooth as glass. The truck was clean and tight.
What amazed me was they charged me a fraction of other quotes I’d received and got it done in a third of the time.

I just got my car. OMG it’s BEAUTIFUL. I highly recommend this Maaco shop. They do awesome work. They have 3 options to choose from. I recommend getting the 3^rd option it’s a little more expensive but IT’S WORTH IT! The dents, scratches and I had major roof damage from the sun they are All gone. My 2004 Toyota Corolla looks like it came off of a dealership showroom. The price is RIGHT, the work is AMAZING and their customer service is OUTSTANDING! Lee and Mario Thank you so much. My 2005 Scion tC was in bad need of some paint work. Where I park it, the sun always hits it on one side, so while the right side looked good, the left was aging like a 20 yr old vehicle. I discussed options with Mario and after settling on one we thought would do it, I handed my keys over and crossed my fingers. I wasn’t sure how good this was going to get, but when I was called to come pick it up, Mario drove it out and I thought he replaced it with a new car. The paint literally looks showroom new. I even had a few small dings which they popped out and a couple paint chips on the good side that are no longer there. All in all, I couldn’t be more delighted. Absolutely awesome work. Thanks Mario!

My husband called and spoke to Lee who was helpful and friendly. Had Mario help him get a very decent quote to get a Harley motorcycle part painted. The piece was an Iron 883 headlight fairing that needed to be painted matte black to match the bike. Guys were knowledgable about the paint and finished the job in 24 hours. Only comment, is we wish we could have gotten a pickup call when it was ready, otherwise, we are very satisfied.

I have to say I was surprised. I was a bit of a skeptic but when I took my wife’s car to get painted and a few other things I had a great job done. Mario was super. Mario really walked me through the process and explained every thing in detail. I do recommend at least this location that really showed me quality work.

Normally I’m not one that goes out and writes reviews on Unilocal; however, I felt strongly enough about my recent experience with Maaco that I decided to add a post.
Like many of you exploring where to have your car painted, I did a bit of research and visited a few local Torrance/​Lomita body shops. Let me give you a little background — my car is a 2001 Toyota Highlander. Yes, it’s older but it has been well maintained and continues to drive well despite the age and high mileage. Our Highlander suffered from the normal nicks, door dings, one dent and a pretty severe case of peeling/​bubbling clear coat. Both bumpers had some pretty bad scratches as well. Basically the car ran great but looked pretty bad. The peeling clear coat was over the entire roof, part of the hood, and along the window sills. Overall the paint was pretty tired and faded.
So began my search of where to take my car to have it painted. I started off with a few independent body shops who were more than willing to perform the work, but as you might imagine the cost was pretty substantial –hovering around $ 3,000-$ 5,000. I’m confident the work would have been very good to outstanding, but the price was an issue. I expected this, but I still wanted to check a few out and ended up receiving some valuable feedback along the way. One owner, suggested I check out Maaco given the age of the car and my intended budget. He mentioned Maaco’s Premium paint option is actually very good and worth looking into.
So I decided to stop by Maaco and talked to Mario. He took a look at the car and then began to explain the available paint options (Basic, Preferred, Premium). He showed me some examples of cars that had been painted with each option and highlighted the differences. Since I plan to keep this car for at least a few more years and based on the independent body shop recommendation, I decided on the Premium option and handed the keys over to Mario.
A week later my car was ready to be picked up. I had my own set of expectations and knew the car would show a big improvement over how it appeared when I brought it in. I have to say that I was extremely surprised with how it turned out. Mario’s team did a fantastic job on the car. All the scratches, dings, dents and the horrific peeling clear coat were gone. Instead the car looked like new again! What a difference. The shine was amazing, the body work was outstanding — honestly, they exceeded my expectations.

I would like to start by saying my over all experience with Maaco was great! I got the stage 2 taking my 1972 Mustang convertible from gold to a beautiful bright red! My car looks great. Jason is definitely the go to guy there he did a great job of keeping me updated on the process of my car and even texting me pics of the progress… overall I would recommend them to anyone trying to go for a new look on their ride or even being their cars paint back to life!
