Ellis Endodontics

I was referred out by my General Dentist (GD) to a root canal specialist. I found Ellis Endo through my dental insurance. I went to their office on March 8^th for a consultation. I must admit I was very nervous because my GD was not able to get my lower molar numb for the root canal. I had a terrible experience I felt the entire thing. My GD stopped working on the tooth and placed a temporary filling on that tooth. During the consultation I was greeted by Lelia she made me feel so comfortable and took care of the billing. Dr. Nakata came in and did an evaluation of the tooth and explained everything to me. He mentioned he had some tricks to attempt to get me numb. I came in today with a preconceived notion that I’ll be here all day getting poked with needles. Dr. Nakata and his assistant were awesome within less than 15 mins I was completely numb. I did not feel the needle or even a pinch!!! Dr. Nakata was fast but very thorough! He made sure I was comfortable and that I stayed numb throughout! At the very end he took an X-​ray and oh my goodness it was the perfect root canal cleaned and filled to the very end of the root! Dr. Nakata prescribed me some pain medication. No need to get that prescription it’s been several hours since the numbness wore off and I have yet to feel any pain or tenderness. I’m back to my normal eating habits except anything hard! I’m currently at yogurtland enjoying this big cup of frozen yogurt without any sensitivity or throbbing pain it’s been months! I sincerely thank you very very very much Dr. Nakata and The Ellis Endo staff for everything today!!!

Very experienced doctors and helpful staff. They are willing to go out of their way to make sure you fully understand what needs to be done. Highly recommend.

Staff was rude. Not impressed with the office staff at all and will not be recommending anyone to get work done here.

Dr. Nakata has amazing bedside manners, I was in tears at 11 at night on a Saturday out of state even, he was able to get antibiotics to me within the hour. He is very good at explaining things and his whole staff is such a pleasure to work with, not one stuck up soul in this outfit. Beautiful office to go with such a beautiful staff=)

I was one of those people who had horror stories of painful root canals. I’ve had more than 2 in the past. Those experiences were so horrible that I avoided going to the dentist for over 11 years. Thus leading me to my many dental problems today. I walked in and was greeted by the friendly front desk. The whole office looks like a fancy Vegas hotel. Dr. Nakata and his assistant, Agnes, worked on my root canal. I was so tense and nervous but they made sure that I was in ZERO pain before starting. I would seriously recommend them to anyone and everyone. I’m the biggest baby when it comes to dental work. Giving birth, shots, tattoos, eye surgery, stitches, all those I can handle. But, dental work is my kryptonite. I didn’t even feel the anesthesia needle and from past experience, that’s the part I hate the most. The staff here are so caring and gentle. I am so happy I came here instead of another place I was refereed to. No one wants to go to any type of medical dealing with your teeth, however, I needed dental help in a hurry and it dawned on my that if I use Unilocal!to find good food, maybe Unilocalers! could lead me to a reputable dentist. OMG! They can! The facility and the staff are absolutely accommodating. I especially enjoyed the paperless office (thumbs up). I will most definitely come back here for my future dental needs. What they couldn’t help me with, they referred me out to another dentist. It was a good referral. Thank you for all your help, expertise and really knowing you profession. I am definitely recommending this office to everyone I know.

Their clinic is very nice, very clean, comfortable & even relaxing with convenient parking. Leah, the nice lady in front & Pam, the wonderful dental assistant, were all very warm, friendly & extremely helpful. Moreover, the dentist who took care of me was Dr. Sharon Kyomen — Dr. Sharon Kyomen has seen & taken care of me several times. One instance I that Impressed me was when I was referred to her for a root canal procedure. After doing some tests & a thorough examination, she explained to me that there was really no need for me to go through a root canal procedure at that time. It occurred to me that she could have just gone ahead, did it & get paid. But that was not the case because with the tiimes that I had seen Dr Kyomen, I feel that she is kind hearted, caring and gentle. She talks to her patients & explains what is going on & what she needs to do to take care of the problem. More importantly, Dr. Kyomen is great with what she does and really takes care of her patients with great care. Thank you Dr. Sharon Kyomen.

Dr. Tanaka and his staff made sure I received the best treatment during my root canal. They were caring and extremely professional.

I needed an emergency root canal and they got me right in. Office is clean and staff is friendly. Dr. Nakata explained everything clearly and completely. I will highly recommend Ellis to my friends and family.

I had waited 3 months! Till the discomfort got the best of me. I saw my regular dentist and was a lil upset he told me to go to Dr. Nakata due to possibly needing a root canal. Dr. Nakata is a very knowledgeable expert at what he does. I’ve had other root canals & didn’t have the same experience from the minute I walked in. Ellis Endodontics has the best dental assistants they know how to treat patients with care &waste no time! The front desk personnel are very warm & welcoming that in itself is hard to find sometimes. The office is super clean and up to date! I cant even comment on wait time because there was none;D absolutely happy!

So, I go into a new Dentist on a Tuesday morning because I had a throbbing toothache. The Dentist says, you need a Root Canal, (awesome) Go see Ellis Endodontics right now. I drive over, meet Dr. Nakata, he pokes around my teeth, and says, Yep, you need a Root Canal. I sign the paperwork, and 2hrs later, walk out with a novacaine grin. His office followed up with me, unsolicited, 3 or 4 times to make sure I was OK. I would not recommend a Root Canal to anyone, (the procedure was painless but the aftermath was unbearable,) but if you have to have one, go see Dr. Nakata at Ellis Endodontics.
He was great.

I’ve had 2 root canals done here by Dr. Nakata and I have absolutely ZERO complaints or pain as a result!!! I’ve heard so many stories of people who have had pain during and after root canals…
The first time I stepped into the office, I immediately felt relaxed… it’s so nice and peaceful in the office… and NO paperwork!!! Everything is done electronically… I don’t know the name of the girl at the front (she’s the one with glasses) but she is so very nice and friendly… Dr. Nakata’s assistant Angie is the BEST!!! (I really hope that’s her name lol… she’s Filipina) and Leia (who handled the billing for me) is great also… the entire office is the best!
Dr. Nakata is very thorough and explains everything before and as well as during the procedure… He always makes sure you are comfortable and not experiencing any pain at all…
If I ever need any more work done (crossing my fingers I don’t! lol), I will definitely come back here…

While a root canal is not something to look forward, Dr. Sharon Kyomen is absolutely the best in her field and makes every effort to minimize pain or discomfort. The medical office is state-​of-​the-​art and the office staff terrific. Her professional skills are outstanding and is very thorough plus she takes the time to explain the procedure both in advance and as she is working. I value Dr. Kyomen as a «10» on a scale of 1 to 10!

usually people fear going to these types of appoinments… but after wakening up with HORRIFIC pain from a tooth/​nerve gone dead, my appointment couldnt come soon eneough. The staff is AMAZING, very understanding and very accomodating. I was seen that same day. Unfortunetly, my teeth are something I have always struggled with, but it is so wonderful to know that offices like these exist. I have seen both Dr. Nakata and Dr. Kyomen, both (the least to say) are in my opinion some of the best! Felt little or no discomfort. i hope I dont have any issues with my teeth anytime soon, but if I do I feel happy i have them to count on! THANKS GUYS, no more pain! Carmen S.

My regular dentist sent me to Dr. Nakata for a root canal treatment. It was too far back in my mouth — Dr. Nakata specializes in Endodontics.
In a word AWESOME! Professional, fast, REALLY REALLY great dentist. No pain or issues after the treatment either.

Had my very first root canal done a couple of years ago by Dr. Kyomen. She is quite pleasant and personable (and attractive as well). Her hygienist, Doris, explained things in great detail and was also very nice.
Can’t really tell you if the cost was reasonable because I don’t know what other endodontists charge. Seemed kind of expensive (over $ 900 for one tooth), but the procedure for a root canal is fairly labor intensive (almost 2 hours). I was surprised how her fingers were able to hold up from all of that scrubbing.
Most importantly, there was absolutely no pain. I’ve always heard horror stories about how bad root canals were, but I’ve had cavities filled that were more painful than what I went through this morning (I grew up going to a dentist that never used Novacaine, but that’s another story). I had the foresight to bring along some ibuprofen to take right after the procedure, so I’d be ready for when the anesthetic wore off. The most uncomfortable part of the procedure was learning how to swallow with my mouth propped open, but I guess that’s a situation that’s common with all root canals.
One negative that I’ll mention is that I noticed a pair of radio headphones on a hook mounted on the wall, but they weren’t offered to me. Didn’t really matter, because I had brought my own MP3 player, which I used to help to pass the time.
