This place was decent. I asked for a variation on a mixed drink once and they gave me a hard time but the food was pretty good. The drinks are just ok. Needs more alcohol.

Came in for late bite to eat. The waiter Jared was amazing. Definitely made the experience great. He recommended the lemon garlic chicken breast and was delicious. I will be back for the great food and great service.

We were seated quickly. The place appears neat and clean… our server was nice. Although when I glanced around at the others they were frowning and appeared pretty unhappy. They had a small cocktail menu that was boring and unimpressive. i wanted a beer though anyway… unfortunately their beer selection was even poorer. Budweiser, Stella Artois, and other boring American beers. That’s it! So I had water. We ordered the Tempura salmon roll(appetizer/$ 8) which was good. And I ordered the Blackened Mahi Mahi($ 16)…it was good. But I was not impressed. The vegetables it came with looked as if it were originally frozen. The rice it came with had little chopped sausage in it. i don’t feel like the meal was a very good combination. Lets just say this place is ORDINARY. you’ll eat a decent yet mediocre meal. So don’t go here on any special occasion. I don’t think I will ever go back actually. Also, before we left we stopped by the bathroom and did not even use it because of some strange smell that emanated from the area the closer you walked to it. It was really strange and a complete turn off we did not even use the restroom there. We just wanted to get far away from the place at that point.

Went here just to kick it since all the other restaurants in the area like lucilles were all full with a 2 hour wait time on a Saturday night. Ordered the 6 and 8 ounce steak with garlic mashed potatoes, spinach, mac & cheese. Mediocre food. Had it with a mudslide & long island. Decent. Waitress was nice, she tried hard to earn her wages so thumbs up. Nothing extraordinary here just another restaurant in the south bay.

I’ve been there 3 times total and I enjoyed my meal each time. My last visit in December ’15 was most memorable by far! I’m a cocktail fan though I didn’t want to buy pricey and fancy cocktail that night. So I choosed«Strawberry Banana Breeze» which was stimulating enough without alcohol! Then«Parmesan Tuscan style Chicken & Shrimp pasta» really satisfied my palate with crispy parmesan cheese on the chicken, and marinara sauce with medium size shrimp and 2 large pieces of garlic bread! I gave four stars as the dessert I got«Hot Apple Blueberry Walnut Cobbler with Vanilla Ice Cream» instead of «Crème Brulee”(it was too late to order close to 10pm) was bit too sweet for me. I suspect their«Crème Brulee» might have been better.

I go here because my parents like to go here and to be honest before the food was very average overall. Over time I figured out what I liked(Korean Tacos) and that was my go to, then they removed it and revamped the menu. I played it safe with an order of fish and chips and was more than pleasantly surprised. I actually thought they were excellent. My wife ordered the chimichuri garden burger and also enjoyed that quite a bit. I would say after the revamped menu, this place is an easy 4 stars. For the past 4 – 8 times I’ve been here this place was hovering around 2 – 3 stars, so I can’t bump it up so fast. I’m sure I will get the call to come here again and if it was as impressive as the last time, I will not hesitate to give then 5 stars! This place is getting better!

I have dined here several times. The food isn’t exceptional, but it is palatable and several items are tasty. I recommend the parmesan crusted green beans. They are quite good. This restaurant is not without faults though. 1) The waitstaff is lazy. I have never met a group of individuals so indifferent and reluctant to serve food and take plates away. Once, our waitress practically refused to take way empty soft drink glasses. It was clear, she was simply leaving them for the busboys to clear after we left. Lady, leave your problems and laziness at the door… and serve me my parmesan green beans with a smile. 2) The ambiance is irrational. A safari décor with prominent African decorations that serves primarily Asian cuisine. That makes sense. Secondly, the walls are plastered with LCD televisions playing ESPN. WHY?! This is a restaurant, not a sports bar. Maybe the televisions are supposed to distract us from the fact that the food is mediocre… or maybe the clientele appreciates free cable.

This place is conveniently located minutes from me and I frequently eat here whenever I’m passing through and want a good sit down, so I figure I should review it. This is a great place for groups. At least at this location. It’s never too busy and they never have a problem getting our order right and at a timely manner. I’ve had several lunch meetings and birthday dinners here and it has never been a problem. The service is excellent, staff is friendly, and the place is clean. The atmosphere is nice too, a jungle theme if you will. The bar area is fun to sit at and grab appetizers from as well. The food is excellent for the value. I’ve had several things on the menu and never have I been disappointed. Their drinks are wonderful too, but I think that always depends on the bartender and not so much the venue.

I like elephant bar, both this one in Torrance and the one in Santa Barbara. I’ve dined there many times in the past decade. They do fusion food and try very hard, and change menu several times. I’d recommend lettuce chick wrap and fried salmon rolls as starters, and jambalaya(switch rice to pasta, that will amaze you). These are all time favorites. They used to carry sampler plate but I’m not sure if it’s still there.

Came here for happy hour with my girls around 9pm. Wasn’t crowded at all, and easily found a seat in the bar area. They have a good happy hour deals, with food and drinks. You can get one of their signature cocktails for $ 5. Originally $ 7. And you can always request a dessert menu, which I did! And was so happy with my decision to get the coffee fudge ice cream cake. Totally have a sweet tooth! Service was so-so. 3 stars total for average

I’m not normally a chain restaurant kind of person, but this was pretty good. Came here for the first time a few hours ago. Walked in a few minutes before 9 pm. Got the petite sirloin and sauteed spinach. The steak was seasoned really well, slightly buttery but not heavy at all. Cooked perfectly(medium) and topped with little fried onion strings. I liked it. The spinach was tasty. My lady friend got grilled lemon garlic chicken breast with sauteed vegetables and brown rice. She liked it. All of that was $ 27. Service was good. That’s basically what I’m looking for. If I worked nearby I would probably come here after work. The restaurant/bar was clean and well decorated. Menu was large and seemed to have good variety.

Came here around 6pm on a Wednesday hoping to grab a few drinks a some appetizers to share with co-workers. The place wasn’t too packed and especially in the bar area, there was plenty of room for us and no wait at all. Pros: — Happy hour Mon-Fri 3−6pm and 9pm-Close. They offer a variety of drink and food deals, which I think are worth it, especially if you are trying to just grab a few drinks with friends or catch a game because they have a lot of tvs in their bar area. — A wide variety of good drinks that are reasonably priced! Cons: — The food in general was not that memorable or good at all. Perhaps it was what we had ordered, but we had ordered at least 5 things on the menu and all of them were a let down.

Nothing special happened here but it was my birthday so I was brought here. All I wished for was another drink after a drink. We sat at the bar with a good view of the TV to watch the NBA playoffs. The bartender was very polite and professional, and we got what the boyfriend chose to have for me, the Olu Passion Mai Tai and Jungle Colada for himself. The ETOH taste was undetectable for both drinks but we have enjoyed the sinful and worst dessert, ice cream mud pie. There were only few people so the ambience was not stressful. It was a super relaxed night therefore I like to give them my 4 stars.

If you know me, than you know I don’t do chain restaurants. With the exception of the Cheesecake Factory, I usually pass on chains, but in Torrance, where the physicians are busy and want to run across the street for lunch, Elephant Bar is an oblivious choice. This one is located right across the street from Little Company of Mary. Its a perfect working lunch spot for the convenience and speed of service. The food is good, the wait staff is always on point, and its cheap. I usually get a cup of soup and salad and it makes a perfect little lunch. They have a really delicious seared tuna sashimi appetizer that I usually order as well. Since I come here for work meetings, I haven’t tried any of the cocktails, however, they have an extensive bar menu. Not every meeting warrants a trip to dine in Palos Verdes. Sometimes, you just need quick and easy. In terms of chain restaurants, this one really is A-OK.

It was a real challenge to give out that second star, and I did so only on the merit of the servers. We made a reservation because it was Valentine’s Day, and we needed a local meeting point prior to getting downtown(early dinner due to activities). Seated pretty close to our reservation time. Friendly and attentive servers were the overall highlight. Appetizer was mostly tasteless chicken lettuce wraps that came out with some disgustingly brown lettuce. Not yummy. Entrees were my Citrus and Avo salad with chicken. Totally bland, devoid of any meal-like qualities, just a heap of soggy crap on a plate. The lady ordered a Thai-high chicken salad that was greasy, the chicken was all grizzly little bits soaked in some sticky sauce and he lettuce was brown. Not edible. Our friends ordered a burger and a wrap… my buddy couldn’t finish the burger because he said it tasted«off»…his gf seemed to like the simple wrap and fries. We ate something better later in the night, because this was a total waste of a meal and an hour. Blah…meh…not likely to return.

I came here with a group of friends for dinner, since they can accommodate large parties and offer a variety of foods. I used to not be a fan of this place, but they’ve definitely made some changes to their menu and service was good, so I’m glad I gave them another chance! We joined the Elephant Bar Rewards Program by downloading the app so that we could get a free appetizer! Service: We had a reservation and were seated quickly. Appetizers and entrees came out pretty quickly, considering we had a large party. Our server was friendly and accommodating. She even split the checks for us to make paying easier. Food: — Quick-Fried Soy-Ginger Calamari — Calamari strips with Asian dipping and cocktail sauces. Served with marinated vegetables(carrots and cucumbers), crisp rice noodles, and toasted sesame seeds. The calamari itself tasted a little artificial, but it was good nonetheless. I enjoyed the tartness of the marinated vegetable accompaniment. — Hong Kong Mahi Mahi — NEWDISH! Mahi mahi served with white or brown rice and vegetables in a Korean BBQ sauce. Vegetables include bok choy, broccoli, and red and yellow bell peppers. I really liked the flavor of the sauce – thin, yet coated the fish and vegetables nicely. I would definitely get this entrée again!

Sub par food in my opinion, but awesome Happy Hour. I’ve never seen a restaurant that has more people at the bar than dining area. Elephant Bar is a chain restaurant that serves Asian/American fusion food with an African Safari décor O_o. The last time we came here for dinner, which was years go was a disaster. Their appetizer platter lacked flavor and my grilled chicken breast was raw and pink in the middle. Good thing I cut it in the middle before I ate it. I wasn’t a Unilocaler then so I dont have a full review on my experience. However, their deals on Happy Hour is fantastic. They have food and drinks combos that are super cheap. And frankly, you’re not gonna mind if you’re eating so so food after a few drinks lol. Also, their service is always good so I appreciate that. But you be the judge. Maybe I’m just being crazy because I have some family members that really like this place lol.

Elephant Bar is your average chain eatery… like Friday’s. In that respect, I give 3 stars. However, what sets them apart for me is the nightly Happy Hour and the lunch specials. Happy Hour starts at 9pm nightly and is actually pretty cool. The prices are great and the drinks are good. My faves are the margaritas and coconut shrimp. Lunch specials are available 7 days a week, from 11am-4pm. The specials are regular dishes from their menu but in a smaller portion. But honestly, the portion size is very generous! My absolute favorite dish here is the Jambalaya with white rice. When visiting, ask to be seated in James’ section. He was an excellent server.
