Established in 1979.

In 1979, we began Chris’ Moving Men, Inc. on the West side of Los Angeles. Back then, our advertising consisted of posting flyers on bulletin boards at local supermarkets. Today, in the 21st century, we’ve taken our efforts to the internet.

With nearly 30 years of experience under our belt, Chris’ Moving Men, Inc. fills a unique niche in the moving and storage industry of Southern California. I have moved 4 times in the last 3 years. From the first move, I have discovered one thing-​do not even bother with the rest-​just go to the best and the best is Chris’ Moving Men. They are prompt, clean, organized and skillful-​everything you need when moving. Because moving is so stressful, why add to the levels? I have tried the others, and what I happened? Broken down trucks, scratched furniture, old, smelly men who can barely lift anything and do what they can to drag out the time so the money is more than the «lowball» quote.

I recently had to move three large piece of furniture out of a storage facility. Chris’ Moving Men did a FANTASTIC job! They sent Kiki and Adan to do the job. They were very fast moving the furniture quickly without damaging anything. These were antique pieces and I was very happy they knew how to move them efficiently.
Also, the lady I booked the move with was very nice and she knew her shit. There was no «I’m not sure, let me ask the boss, I’ll have to call you back». She set everything up answered all my questions. Everything was great! The day before the move Chris, himself, called to verify everything. I will definitely use them again and I highly recommend them.
Oh, and the price was great! They were the most reasonable for this move of any of the quotes I received.

We recently had our first moving experience. We didn’t know what to do or who to call. We got tons of flyers in the mail. We chose Chris’s. After speaking to Chris on the phone regarding the moving service, I was already impressed with the attitude and the prices. On moving day, the truck arrived exactly on time. First shock. Then the three guys got out of the truck and introduce themselves and were the sweetest things ever. They proceeded to go through the contract with me slowly and carefully. At that point they went through our entire house asking me what we should take and what we werent taking. They never had a problem with anything I wanted to take. Those were three of the hardest working guys I had ever seen. They never stopped. Once the truck was packed they came and got us and said we’re ready to go to the new house. Once we got to the new place, they unpack the truck as efficiently as they had packed it. Again they were so good to me that I will use them again and recommend them highly to anyone who needs movers. If you were looking for a moving company, these are the guys you want. Bill, Ron, and Lenny where are dudes… Thank you Chris for giving us the greatest moving experience ever!
Well we made another larger move and again Chris’s Moving Men were beyond amazing. Could not have asked for better service. We had Bill, Ron, Steve and Loretta this time. Had asked all my friends to use them if they need to move!
I misplaced my phone and Loretta helped me find it. Even lost my keys and knew they’d help, but found them myself…

Pure gems. I’ve moved more than anyone I know and these are the BEST movers I’ve ever had. I highly, highly recommend them. They go the extra mile with no complaint (stairs, unwrapping, unboxing etc.), and have great personalities. Kiki is the best. Just good people all around and really good at what they do.

You can’t do any better than these guys. They are an army of professionals and really nice guys. You trust what they do and how they do it. This is our 4th time using them and this time, they were moving 2 households at the same time to the Bay Area into two different units. We went up to the Bay Area and found 2 places to live over Thanksgiving and immediately came home and thought we would just ask Chris if he did long distance. If not, we were going to do it ourselves, but he did and we were sold. It was complicated with two locations with belongings for both locations and a storage unit as well. They loaded quick and easy and helped us dispose of property we were going to have to come back and deal with as we were selling this house. This was all at the beginning of December and the rains were coming. We had two 26 foot trucks and plenty of guys. One guy moved us 3 times already. He knew about the safe and all the DVD movies and the heavy pottery equipment we had. The guys were so courteous and polite, I was taken aback. I gave them a generous tip at each location on the pick up on different days and then when they drove up to Alameda and unloaded two trucks at 3 different locations and kept it all in order, I was amazed but not surprised. These guys are first rate. Nothing broke and everything was in tack. They finished up all this by 1:00 and turned around and drove back to LA. We were so grateful to Chris and his men for all the hard work and dedication to making the move so calm and peaceful. The stress of relocating is tremendous but these guys did everything right. We hope we did right by them in our tips because they were absolute life savers. Please rent from them. You won’t regret it. Thanks you.

This company did a great job moving me from Southern to Northern California. They took care with all of my furniture and nothing was broken or damaged at all. They had no problem with my heavy marble-​topped dresser, which had to go down stairs and then up again at the destination. Their quote was accurate and I was not charged more than the original quote. They had to disassemble and re-​assemble several items, and did not charge extra for that. The movers on my job were Bill and Lenny, another man whose name I apologize for not remembering, and Laurette. They all did a great job and I would recommend them to anyone.

What a wonderful company and team of movers we had. I must say the experience was seamless, professionally carried out and extraordinary in how they handled the move;all went well with the complicated move schedule, driveway incline etc. Never a difficult moment, even when something appeared to be lost, they responded well and made everything right. The moving crew just left my new house — Bill, Alberto, Ben, & Matt — and they were the best! They arrived on time and finished early, saving me $ 200! From the start they responded to my request for an estimate promptly, Frank came out and gave the apartment a thorough review and gave me an estimate that was a ceiling: these guys worked so well they beat the estimate! I had the pleasure of talking to Chris on the phone — I scheduled one date but the close of escrow was delayed and he really helped me think through Plan B. I was able to do the move on Sat. August 1st, which must be one of the busiest days to move. If I have to move again, which is the last thing I want to do right now, I will definitely call these guys and ask for the same crew. Professional, friendly, helpful, patient. And even funny. Thanks so much guys!

I recently tried to book a move for one of my offices. The girl who answered the phone was helpful and friendly. She books the move and says they can accommodate our dates, insurance and moving requirements. Chris calls later to say they can’t do what was agreed by his staff. Do yourself a favor find another mover before this happens to you a week later!

Chris’s Moving Men are the Best, I would never use anybody else. Chris is so easy to deal with and very accommodating. I was lucky enough to have Steve, Ron and Dan moving me out, and they were fast and careful at the same time. I had my belongings in their storage for 3 days, and then had Ron and Dan again moving me to my new place. They were wonderful! Gabrielle was then my 3rd man, and he truly was an Angel, carefully unloading everything in the condo while Ron was at the truck, and Dan was the Runner. How they work together is magic! They were respectful of me and my belongings, fast, efficient, clean, punctual, polite, and made the whole process fun. Can’t say enough good things about this company.

We used Chris’ Moving Men for a very complicated move, involving a local move to storage and an interstate move. We found the team to be efficient, experienced, and polite. Chris was also on top of every detail associated with our long distance move. This was important because there were special requirements involved, in that we were moving into a condo complex, which required specific insurance arrangements and particular moving-​in guidelines. The interstate movers (Stevens) got a very late start on the move-​in date, but this was not within Chris’ control. In any case, the interstate movers worked incredibly hard to get the job done in one day – and they succeeded. We would highly recommend Chris’ Moving Men.

We used Chris and his men last year to move a condo to a house. Five guys showed up and they did the move quickly and efficiently. Not only that, but they were all extremely polite and said goodbye and thank you at the end of the day. We actually had them come back a few weeks later to switch out the fridge, washer and dryer between our two properties. I highly recommend these guys, thank you! P. S. they also came in way under budget so we gave them a pretty good tip to compensate :)

We used Chris’ Moving Men for a 95 mile move from Torrance to Fallbrook. Since it was a local move the charges were hourly based rather than weight based. The estimate was written with a not to exceed number that was very reasonable. Because of escrow hold ups we had to delay the move by 5 days. No worries. They showed up on time and packed up the entire house in 2 hours. Then we were off to our 10×20 storage unit and they had that packed up in 90 minutes. The next day they arrived at the house in Fallbrook a few minutes early. Unpacking was smooth and took about 3 hours. All of the workers were courteous and efficient. I highly recommend the company and would use them again without hesitation.

Beware! When you need Chris’ Moving Men most they will not be there for you.
I am 90+ days into a local LA move-​in of items long-​term stored by Chris’ Moving Men in their facilities, and I have $ 11+K in damages and missing property. I have multiple boxes (Approx. 15 from what I can discern) of property from my inventory list missing.
Chris, himself, has been 110% unresponsive to our situation. 45±days after move-​in he finally handed the claim over to his insurance company. Now, I am 90-​days in, and the Insurer has now handed it over to a Carrier, whatever that means. The Insurer right off the bat was angry with Chris’ non-​chalance about the matter.
I have paid Chris’ Moving Men thousands of dollars in storage costs the past 2 years, and so far have been left holding the bag on not only damages, but also property that — Poof! — literally has disappeared.
Chris gave his personal approval to replace 2 missing items immediately — our Miele vacuum and Brabantia ironing board. I am now 60+ days out from submitting these receipts, and he still hasn’t reimbursed me.
I’d used CMM for 2 additional moves before (1 move-​out, 1 move-​in), plus a few miscellaneous shuttling of things from LA to Palm Springs. Never again.

Found these guys in Unilocal.They have good reviews and are local so I booked them for my office’s move. I wanted them to come in the afternoon but they told me 9:30 is the latest they can come. So we agreed upon a 9:30 time. We got up early and had everything ready by 9:20. 9:40 rolled around I got a phone call telling me that they will be about 20 – 30 minutes late. No apology whatsoever. When I asked why he told me that he just got in the office and will have to get the truck ready. So I am sitting here waiting and it is now 10 am. Not only am I waiting but the people at my new office are waiting and my assistant is waiting. I paying my employees to wait for this company when we could have arranged for a later time.
They showed up 40 minutes late and finished my move in 4 hours. cheap and efficient. I’m on the fence.

This is the second time I used them. They were rude and didn’t bring a truck big enough for my house. I had to leave things behind at my home (plants, etc). They took my dresser before I was ready and all of my jewelry got tangled. They packed things I told them not to bring and they still brought it. Also, when I called and spoke to the owner to complain and ask at the very least for a discount, they refused. Finally, they agreed to send a truck back the next day at no charge to finish the job. Of course I had to tip those guys too but they were super sweet and helped me clean up the garage. Maybe just bad luck, but won’t take chance again.

There is a reason I’ve used Chris’ Moving Men three times, and have recommended them to at least 4 others. They are the best in the business. Every time. The important thing to know is that they always completely pad & «shrink wrap» all pieces of furniture. The pieces arrive unscathed, and your walls remain undamaged. I’ve never had anything break — right down to china.
Kiki’s team had four guys, because we moved into a multi-​level townhouse. Without complaints, and with complete determination, they got a heavy, large, sofabed up to the top floor guest room, around a fairly narrow stairway that turns. It was amazing.
Chris gives an estimate after he or his representative come out for an in-​person evaluation. It’s based on how much time he thinks his crew will take (and the number of men on the crew). Their prices are competitive. The final cost matched that estimate in all three of my moves, no matter how long it ended up taking (in two out of the three moves it took a little longer than planned).
Also important to note: from the first phone call right down to the pickup of boxes after the move, the service is superb.
This is why I always recommend Chris’ Moving Men.
