I had to bring my car back for for a issue that I caused. They literally took 10 minutes and fixed the problem. Again to those who complain about AQ, try to find a shop with better service. Adan and his staff are amazing!

These guys wanted to charge me $ 75 to put up a rear sway bar. It’s literally 4 screws. Just because I don’t have the time or tools to do it doesn’t mean I’m an idiot. Good lord.

Okay after Adan fixed all the problems the other shop I had my car worked on. I took it to the dyno to get tuned. While tuning there was a boost leak, we went from 14 psi to 12 psi. And at 12 psi we made 425 hp. The last shop and tuner I had work done on. They tuned it at 20 psi I was making 450hp. Again Adan is the man to go see if you want quality work done on your car.

Read the reviews and felt confident this was the shop for my Subaru STI. Wow was I wrong. Worst customer service literally on the planet. I can’t understand how they have any positive reviews. One word grunts or answers is all you will get… like pulling teeth. I planned to spend at least $ 5−7K on the build, but I felt like I needed to beg them to have them work on my car. No thanks. My car is going to a professional shop, Yimisport.

Adan is a excellent Subaru mechanic and you won’t find a more reasonable price for the quality of his work anywhere, trust me I called around several subaru specialty shops and got many price quotes. I took my subie in for a steering rack rebuild and repair as well as routine stuff like struts and plugs. I highly recommend these guys for all your subaru needs performance and non performance alike!!!

Well, my cat has been to AQ three times now and I will not let another mechanic touch my STI. I have a 2015 STI and all my upgrades have been done by AQ!!! We have done Cobb intake and access port, Mishimoto Radiator, Perrin tubes and shroud, ETS top mounted inter-​cooler, 1300CC injectors, Fuel pump, Perrin equal length headers, Perrin up pipe, Blouch Dominator 2.5 turbo, 3 port boost control, Perrin oil-​air seperator, Omni 4 bar MAP, Invidia Catless down pipe, Invidia Q-​300 exhaust, Eibach racing springs and Sway Bar and I think that is it. It is a family owned business and they are very honest and do outstanding work. If you own a Subaru, DO NOT GO ANYWHERE ELSE!!! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!

Adan (Adam) is probably the best Subaru mechanic with the best prices in socal. I called everyone from semi valley to orange county. I even considered people on Craigslist. At the end of the day, if you want the job done right and at a proper shop with warranties, this is the place to go. I came here twice, first for an engine code that 2 previous mechanics couldn’t fix (p0171). Adan looked at the car for 5 mins and told me what was wrong and fixed it. I spent like 2 months trying to diagnose it myself. The second time, my timing belt broke in temecula and had it towed to AQ on a Sunday at 8pm. Guess who was there… Adan. He looked at my car and told me that my engine would be OK… it turned out to be one of the pulleys. Took 2 days to fix because I didn’t have an appt but for the quality and price, I was willing to wait a week if need be. The Subaru stealership wanted 2.5x what AQ charged me. I’m so glad I found Adan. Trust me and take your Subaru to him. He gives you a breakdown of everything price and labor wise. No one will or can bear his prices. Do your research and you will see.

Recently took my car 2003 Subaru WRX to AQ Motorsports for some work. Adan is an honest and professional mechanic to get your work done on your Subaru. Been taking my car to him since his days at Harman Motive.

I’ve always heard good things about AQ Motorsports a shop that specialized in Subarus so decided to give them a call. Adan, who is the owner of the shop was very helpful. They usually take appointments only but he was able to squeeze me in his busy schedule. He was able to get me a new radiator & swap it in with the quickness. All for a reasonable price. I got quotes for future work I need done & the prices are way cheaper than the dealership. Definitely going back if I ever need work done to the subie.

I’ve been taking my cars to AQ for years and have always been 100% satisfied. It’s a relief to come to a place like this when there are so many shops out there that will try to scam you, or screw things up. Adan is the only mechanic I fully trust to work on my suby. He knows the car inside and out and can always diagnose the problem and provide a complete solution, for a very fair price. If you want an honest, trustworthy, knowledgable, and fair place to take your high performance car to, AQ is it.

awesome place for subys. i needed my OEM dp installed for the smog check, and i didnt have an appointment. they got me in right away anyway, and swapped it out for me. did a great job and great price. thanks !!!

It is really difficult to find new and trustworthy mechanics that I feel comfortable enough to let them work on my Subaru. For the last 10 years I have left all maintenance and upgrades on my vehicle to a close friend of mine but recently he has changed career paths and is no longer an option for me. Having been to many Subaru Car Meets around the Southern California area and doing research on the Subaru forums I came to the conclusion that Adan at AQ Motorsports was the most reliable mechanic that I would trust with my car.
My Subaru WRX STI was running with a stock clutch with 85,000 miles on the odometer which would have been fine but with my recent upgrades bringing power levels to 400+WHP the clutch really needed to be replaced. Since it was my first time doing business with Adan I contacted him via telephone and asked him a few questions as far as pricing and timeframe I was looking at for the clutch job. Adan was very informative and his pricing was really competitive compared to all the other Subaru car shops within a 40 mile radius.
I decided to drop by and make an appointment for my clutch job and ended up dropping my car off the same day since he had an opening the day after. The next day Adan contacted me later in the afternoon letting me know the clutch job was taking a little longer than usual with the extensive amount of aftermarket parts I had installed over the years. What was supposed to be a 3.5 hour job, turned into a 5+ hour job. He informed me that when he was doing the clutch job he saw a small leak in the lower radiator and that I might need a new radiator. A couple weeks before I brought the car in to Adan I had already noticed the leak but for the life of me I could not find where it was so eventually I gave up looking for it since it just seemed to disappear.
Luckily Adan was able to save my Koyo Radiator by re-​welding the puncture pressure testing the unit, and placing silicone in the spot that was rubbing which caused the leak. Keep in mind he could have easily made his life easier and just said you need a radiator and make me cough up another $ 400 plus labor to fix the problem. Being a standup and honest mechanic he did not do that and really went out of his way to save me money, time, and a huge headache.
All in all Adan at AQ is my new go to mechanic. He has won my trust and business and I will be taking my Subaru to him from now on. If you are looking for a professional Subaru race shop you can trust with your car and money, look no further Adan is your man. Give Adan a call and he can help you over the phone.

Even though this is a performance orientated shop, I always bring my BMW here for routine service. They are knowledgeable, give you plenty of options with the parts (OEM or aftermarket), and don’t oversell you with things you don’t need like other places. Prices for service are also lower than other BMW/​import car shops. Give them a try.

I drive about 90 mi to get here, so that should say something.
They have done a lot of work, from oil changes to a full engine and transmission rebuild. They do quality work at a very fair price. They honest and in the rare event that they do make a mistake, you won’t even have to ask them to make it right.

Originally I went to Subaru of Long Beach to get a 60k tune up done. After my 1^st time there i decided to never go back, they quoted me $ 950 for a windshield i got replaced in Carson for $ 150, absolute crooks. So i needed a new mechanic.
That being said, Adan at AQ is a true professional. He is knowledgeable, passionate, and truly cares about quality and cost effective work. I have gone here a couple of times for some minor repairs. Then again when my turbo on my stock WRX broke.
He preforms the work quickly and even delivers projects below his verbal estimates. I strongly urge anybody who needs work, for serious mods or basic repairs, for their WRX to visit this man. Above all else he is a cool guy. Don’t feel intimidated like HL did, if you are not a car expert he will not overcharge you nor treat you like a moron.
Its pleasant to know there are still honest mechanics out there who love their work.

AQ Motorsports — no introduction needed. Car enthusiasts from all around know about AQ (formerly Harmon). Adan has done a great job righting the wrongs that Harmon was known for.
I took my Subaru here for a turbo swap + supporting mods and Adan took care of me personally. I called on a Monday for a job that would take about a day to complete and Adan was able to get me in on Friday. We made arrangements so that I could drop my car off Thursday night after work. When I arrived, Adan informed me that his lead mechanic would not make it to work on Friday. Initially, I thought that meant that my car would not be done until Saturday, but since I was off from work I didn’t mind. Adan also contacted Church Automotive to set up an appointment for a tune immediately following the installation.
The surprise came when Adan actually called me around noon the very next day (Friday) to inform me that my car was done and everything was installed without issue. The first word out of my mouth was «wow!» Adan informed that since his lead mechanic would not be at the shop on Friday, he decided to stay late the previous night to begin working on it just so that it would be ready for the appointment at Church Automotive. That alone should tell you what kind of shop Adan runs. In addition, Adan personally drove my car to Church Automotive for the tune and drove it back to AQ for me to pick up. Talk about a one-​stop shop. Not to mention that the price he quoted me was hundreds below what other local Subaru-​only shops quoted.
Needless to say, I am very impressed with Adan and AQ and will be using them going forward for future installs and maintenance.

I stopped in this morning after arranging to meet with Peter @ AQ after talking with him on the phone the night before.
I went in for a comprehensive consultation after compiling my list of parts and list of goals after many hours of research on the many helpful FAQs and threads on NASIOC.
I told Peter that I was looking for a spirited daily driver, one that would NEVER see the racetrack, NEVER see a dragstrip (don’t want to grenade my 5MT), or do any dumb stop light clutch-​dump races on public streets (for mostly the same reason as the dragstrip).
I gave Peter a budget and a range of «whp» numbers that I wanted to meet and he was outstanding in his advice and help. I asked him many specific questions and more than a few dumb ones and he was polite and courteous and talked me through the whole process.
So far I have to say AQ Motorsports, and to that extension Peter, is an outstanding shop like I’ve been hearing for years even in their Harman Motive days, and he helped me understand what I was looking for much better by the time I left than when I came in. By being honest and also offering to pay cash (a plus to ANY business), I got everything I wanted, got rid of some things I thought were cool but was advised as superfluous, and added somethings that I needed and also wanted and fell completely at the budget I was looking for with all labor and parts estimated. This is saying a lot, because from my experience with anything that costs a lot and is complex, the rule of thumb is planning for overrunning costs and not your «desired» budget, vs the «realistically what I can afford» budget vs «SNAFU» budget. I definitely fell comfortable on «desired» budget and I drove home with a big fat smile. Heck, I’m shocked that there wasn’t a single hint of upselling during my visit, and I was practically begging for it
I will update this when I have everything installed in about 3 – 4 weeks, because there are certain custom parts that have a decent lead time, especially the Process West TMIC that I ordered through them.
To anyone reading this, I highly recommend checking out AQ Motorsports. It’s even worth a visit to check out a lot of the cool parts they have access to but isn’t listed on their website.

I moved into the area from Santa Cruz. Had no problem back home finding a good shop to tune my car. Now in SoCal its a different story. It seems like every shop has some shady stuff going on and a bunch of people hanging out in the install bays. 9 out of 10 times the service sucks with most shops. Or they don’t deliver on whea is promised.
I was pleased to find Harman Motive in Torrance. The people were very cool to work with and have trained techs working on the cars. I had my WRX timing belt /​water pump serviced and a Cobb Accessport installed. They had same day service and returned my car in great shape.
If your looking for a service or tuning check these guys out.

AQ motorsports is a great company, full of car fans who genuinely care. I had my car there to have some parts made off of it and they took wonderful care of it, almost as good as i do lol. No monkey business and parts that are absolutely stunning. The staff is polite and knowledgeable, people that i would be honored to hang out with. There car knowledge is first rate and i wouldnt hesitate to have them work on any of my cars. 2 huge thumbs up for people who care and do quality work. trust your car to them and their parts and you cant go wrong.

20 150 305 UPDATE: The old review below was when the shop was called «Harman.» Now that Adan is running a renamed joint called «AQ», this place is far better.
After I just recently picked up a Subaru, I’ve been surprised at how close and thorough of a specialty «support network» so close to me at work. I mean, there’s one shop that’s literally within walking distance, and another, Harman Motive, is a very short bus ride away.
Harman seems like a diehard enthusiast shop. It seems they only work on overly specialized and unique cars akin to what Ken Block drives what with the image they portray on their website and in their facilities. But they do work on everyman’s Subie as well.
Do not be intimidated by them. That’s meant to be a double-​entendre, as in: 1) yes, they’re warm, fuzzy, and nice people, and mostly won’t really talk down on you, and 2) do thorough research beforehand and familiarize yourself with what’s absolutely necessary for your putt-​putt-​er.
And thus we come to why H L is giving them the indecisive rating. They were stellar at performing a specialized (but not difficult) transmission installation for me. Unfortunately, they weren’t exactly correct when I asked them about a service interval for something else. Fact is, they were quite assertive about their stance on it.
But since I was partially intimidated by their showcase and all the posters of performance idols posted on their walls, I began second-​guessed myself and hyperventilating and nearly lost all self-​confidence about my knowledge in cars until I went back and corroborated my knowledge with multiple, seasoned colleagues that what Harman had recommended was completely different from what is widely known by others and what is stated in the service manual.
So now I’m at odds. Great service, but do your due diligence. And this goes with any mechanic. You might be surprised that, as evil as the dealers are, sometimes they end up being right.
