Alexandra Bujor, MD- Modern Women’s Healthcare

I recently moved to the area and needed to find a new women’s healthcare provider. I am so thankful that I was referred to Jessie Wetherbe, the nurse practitioner at Modern Women’s Healthcare. It was clear from my first appointment that I had found a practice that would suit my needs and fulfill my expectations. Scheduling was convenient, the front desk and medical staff are incredibly welcoming and helpful, and Jessie was insightful, thorough and warm. I have been to the office on 3 occasions now and have also had the pleasure of working with Dr. Bujor. In my experience, both Jessie and Dr. Bujor are excellent women’s healthcare providers and I look forward to continuing to work with them and their great team at MWH.

I wish this clinic could be my primary care facility. The front desk staff is very nice and helpful. The doctor and nurse practitioner are very kind, knowledgable, gentle, and helpful. I highly recommend this office! They also offer patient portal for communication, reminders, and medical records. Super helpful to be able to just email the medical staff directly.

Dr B is the best best best! She delivered all 3 of my babies. I gave birth to my 3^rd child a week ago and she literally saved my baby’s life after I had a cord prolapse. I was rushed into the OR for an emergency C section and she took such great care of me. She arrived within minutes of hearing about the emergency. I am eternally grateful to her. She really cares about her patients and I would recommend her to anyone. I’m so thankful she has been my doctor the past 6+ years.

My wife and I are seeing Dr. Bujor for our first pregnancy. We have been very happy with our experience: from the office staff, nurses, and of course the doctor. She is very smart but easy to talk to, and every time we see her she puts our worries at ease. As a doctor myself, I respect her expertise and appreciate her bedside manner. We have also seen her nurse practitioner, Jessie, who is also very competent and caring. I have recommended this office to other friends of ours who are expecting.

I switch to doctor Bujor for my second child and I’m so glad I did! Doctor Bujor is an excellent doctor. She is very kind and caring and takes the time to answer your questions. She also didn’t push for a section the way my last obgyn did. The nurse practitioner is fantastic and so is the woman at the front desk. Yes, it might be difficult to get an initial appointment but that is a good sign and not a reason to leave a bad review.

I had my first visit with the Jessie, the nurse practitioner. She was great! Very thorough and spent a lot of time answering my questions. And ON TIME, which almost never happens at a dr’s office! Plus they have TV in the exam rooms with HGTV!

Dr. Bujor is an EXCELLENT doctor. She delivered my second child in July and it was very smooth with no complications that are commonly seen after delivery– like tearing. She takes her time with you and listens– something many doctors don’t do. I would absolutely recommend her.

I’m a nurse, and I’ve been to some good physicians and some really awful ones. Dr. Bujor is definitely one of the good ones. She is an extremely caring and knowledgeable physician. Yes, sometimes there is a wait to see her, but that’s how it is for an OBgyn that does deliveries and surgeries. But when I’m in front of her, she give me her full attention. I also like that she is open to integrative practices and medicine. Her staff are very sweet and helpful, and also, there are TVs in every exam room, bonus.

Dr Bujor is a good dr but its hard to get an appointment in her office because she is very busy… But the staff Is horrible the girl with the curly hair that works there is very rude to pts and was very rude to me I don’t understand why dr Bujor does not handle the situation in the front I don’t think she even has an idea how rude they are being to her pts I willl be looking for a new dr

Dr Bujor is one of the few doctors who listens and is open minded. She cares and I really appreciate that she responds via email.

Updates on July 1,2015
I had to get another appointment due to same symptoms came back after seeing her a month prior.
I arrived the office @1:50 pm on June 15. When I got there, I noticed the office door was locked during lunch hour. (my appointment was on 2:15). That was fine with me. I can wait.
@2:00, door still locked. Hmmmm… Maybe their lunch is getting a bit longer. I understand.
@2:10, I’m getting nervous since the office always tell patients to «arrive early» and I’m only 5 mins away from my appointment.
Between 2:00 — 2:10, I saw an orderly couple walking into the back office (and they saw me too).
That’s when I realized there’s someone in the office… @2:18, I decided to call them to remind them that their office door was LOCKED!
Finally someone came unlocked the door… But no one seemed to bothered to apologize for the wait. Rude! Someone mentioned «did someone forget to unlock the door?» And that was it. I sat down on a chair and it was 2:20. I would have been less upset if anyone even «pretended» to apologize… No one gives a damn.
I was let into the room and the wait starts again.
Then I hear…” Happy birthday!!!“
Dr. Bujour’ parents (the elderly couple walked by me earlier) and her staffs were throwing her a surprise birthday party!
What a pleasant surprise!!!
Except they forgot that there was a patient left in the room butt naked…
But I still put a smile on and congratulated her a happy birthday.
Final strike was for the duration of receiving my test result. Dr. Bujour told me the results will be back from the lab no later than 2 days, but I got a email from them that my result is now on the patient portal… that’s 9 days after the test. It takes a week for Dr. to go over the test results and post it on the portal while the patient is in pain for the whole week. (this long duration on test results wasn’t the first time)
I’ve had enough.
I’ve always felt like I was forgotten in her office. Maybe because I don’t yell or complain and they think it’s ok.

I actually don’t mind Dr. Bujour.
However, I am not that mind-​blown by her to keep seeing her when there are issues that tag along with her practice.
1. It’s almost impossible to get an appointment. I personally think it’s not just Dr. Bujour office issue though. Seems like every doctor I’ve talked to in South Bay Area, have same issues. I didn’t know there were so many sick people in Southbay.
2. My last papshmear, I waited in the empty room butt-​naked for exactly 45 minutes. Literally 45 mins. Starring at the empty wall for 45mins. And that is not even accounting the usual wait time in the waiting area outside. No, I was not late for my appointment either.
It took dr. Bujour less than 15 mins for the Pap test (including Q&A time)
It was disappointing since the whole 15mins, I felt rushed.
3. My biggest issues
I called in for an appointments (I guess I already knew that I won’t be able to get any based on my experience with them for last 7−8yrs). One for UTI last year and this time for an infection.
Not only I couldn’t get an appointment but also couldn’t even speak to the Doctor or nurse both times.
Torrance memorial urgent care took care of my UTI in 15mins. Thank God
For infection…
I knew it was not a life threatening so I went to Walgreens and bought Monistat 3.
However, I still had the symptoms after 3 days. But I gave a couple of more days since sometimes it takes time for the medicine to kick in. Then I called the office since the directions on the Monistat says that I need to consult or see doctors if symptoms still exist.
This young lady told me there was no open appointment to see Dr. Bujour til June. June was two and an half months away.
So I explained my situation hoping I would get to talk to someone with more medical knowledge. I guess she didn’t even want to hand the phone to a nurse.
She told me to use monistat 7 and that’s what the practice recommend to patients.
When I told her I already tried 3 and didn’t work, she CUT ME OFF and told me to use monistat 7. EW!
I am calling them first thing in the morning on Monday since my two courses of Monistat didn’t work for me.
I even called the nurse line through my insurance and she was surprised that the office won’t even let me consultant the doctor or nurse. yet a receptionist decided to cure me with the almighty Monistat
4. Dr. Bujour recommend a hormone test and I didn’t hear the result for a months.
Funny thing is this should’ve only took a wk at most.
After a months, I decided to give them a call and ask for the result.
I Did not get to talk to anyone so I just left a voicemail. No biggie.
The following day, I get an automated machine lady calling saying my test result is on their web portal. Ha.
They forgot to update the result on their ineffective web portal for two freakin months!!! No call, no follow up on the result from the office for two months until I called them to remind them of their job

I visited them for the first time today. I didn’t see Dr. Bjuor, which was fine. Her NP was very nice, funny, and did an excellent job. I was just going for my yearly exam and I plan on staying with them for as long as possible.

Recommended by UCLA and my wife saw this doctor twice. Did the website to request the 2^nd appointment but never heard from staff for a few weeks so called because my wife had a lump in a very personal area and some functional in-​balance, and I want her to be healthy and normal! Lump disappeared by the 2^nd appointment and doctor says it disappeared so no worries. The doc told my wife within five minutes that she’s normal (ummm…you told us already from the 1^st appointment) and told my wife she needs to fatten up (she’s 5’2″ 105 lbs and her «skinnier» friends and sisters are normal). We already knew hormone levels were normal on the first visit and the doc still hasn’t resolved my wife’s original problem! Just prescribe more pills and «wait and see» (seen too much prescription in place of REAL medical care in the US Army by the US doc when my buddy has a spinal problem discovered by a German military doc later on after he collapsed in the warzone village). She then left. Wow. (and my wife is not rude, she’s passive and quiet).
Epic disappointment by recommendation (my wife is more disappointed by this quasi-​special doc). Other reviewers may have had better experience but we never experienced the service others received. Better go back to the original doctor who was much better in Gardena for my wife. Sorry. Can’t wait for the bill for the quicky five minute appointment to get more pills.

I haven’t had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Bujor yet so this review is for her nurse practitioner, Jenna. She is AMAZING. I’ve visited many different OB-GYN’s and this one will be my place for life. It’s so important to have a nice nurse especially when in uncomfortable table positions! They are very caring, helpful and always responsive. Give them a shot!

Dr. Bujor and her ENTIRE staff are amazing. Dr. Bujor has a great bedside manner, she is caring, diligent, smart, has great energy and really spends time with her patients explaining things and making sure their concerns are alleviated. In this age of technology, I believe it is important for doctors to be evolving with technology. You can tell that Dr. Bujor constantly adds to her knowledge base by her first hand knowledge of current technologies, procedures and medications. The office has a great website to review medical results and send messages. Dr. Bujor’s abilities and awareness make me feel at comfortable and at ease.
I also must compliment her staff. I wish I could list all of their names but I would butcher the spelling! The staff always returns my calls and each one has helped me with finding the most cost effective means to accomplish what I need to medically, such as finding a surgery center or helping get medication with the best pharmacies. Recently, the entire office helped with a billing dispute, which they resolved for me. I cannot say enough good thing about them. Thank you so much ladies!

I scoured Unilocal when I originally found Dr. Bujor, and I’ve been seeing her for the last 4 years while I was living in the LA area. My review is based on regular annual physicals, and not for any issues or for pregnancy. Dr. Bujor is nice, friendly, seems competent, asks a lot of questions, listens and makes the appointment the least awkward that they can be. The office staff is friendly, and they were always good about test results & reminders. I definitely trust Dr. Bujor and I’m sad that I’ll be looking for a new doctor now that I’ve moved.

Ok so technically I haven’t been into this office; however my review is based on their phone customer service. I first came here to read the reviews about Dr. Bujor and everything I saw was wonderful. I called to see if I could make an appointment and to see if my insurance was accepted. I have Blue Shield of California PPO, so it’s pretty good. I told the lady over the phone and she was extremely rude to me and said «oh the doctor doesn’t take that insurance» as if I had some mess up insurance and then this lady just hung up on me like I was a step child. From the reviews, Dr. Bujor seems wonderful, but her representatives is going to bring her way down!

baby’s dady find them August 9 2013 we went for first app. they told us my conseption was June 8 – 14 which it wasn’t possible I get pregnant end of may begining of June. but it wasn’t a Dr bujor it was her blonde assistance that I don’t remember her name .I ask her «are u sure ?“her respond was .‘DEFINATLY» so they coast in my r. shi…I just wanna tell u to Dr. bujor office u guys was way offfffff on my conseption date. you guys put me so much through thx you for your service right…

Dr. Bujor is a great doctor! Very friendly, professional, and understanding. As a young mother herself, she understands my concerns and worries. I didn’t feel as if I was being judged by the questions I asked.
As soon as I found out I was pregnant, my husband and I wanted to find a new doctor that we both were comfortable with. It’s been over 3 years since I’ve been with her and I’m glad I chose her as my doctor. My husband is also happy with Dr. Bujor and her staff. She really took care of us during and after my pregnancy.
Her staff is great and office is very comforting. I always feel welcomed every visit. Even when calling over the phone, they are always friendly and remember who I am.

I wish I could post this on the medical group website, because the fact of the matter is that I never actually got a chance to meet Dr. Bujor, who I hear is absolutely wonderful.
I am almost 6 months pregnant and I was in desperate need for a new ob/​gyn (look at my other reviews). So I called this office and told them I was thinking of switching doctors and I wanted to make in appointment to come in and see about this practice. They asked my due date because they only take a limited number of patients per month (completely understandable). I told them December and they said that December was OK so they let me come in for an appointment (3 weeks later).
I went in and the woman who helped me at the front was very nice. There is a girl with curly hair that sits in the back, but in eye and ear view, however, that must play the wicked step sister. When she asked if I had my medical records, I explained that my former office said if I decide to go with them, they would have to fax them over. She was shocked that I was only there to decide if I wanted to stay. That’s when the curly haired girl chimed in and rudely stated, «You’re scheduled for an OB appointment, not an interview.» I explained that it was an interview and the curly haired one mumbled under her breath and gave me the death look. Since I switched to an interview, they charged me $ 40 to see the nurse practitioner. I’m OK with that, but I wasn’t expecting it since the other doctors I interviewed did not charge.
They take me to an exam room and somewhere in the five minutes that I checked in and the time I had been in the exam room, one of the nurses comes in and says, «Oh, the doctor might be full for December so we don’t even know if we can take you if you wanted to stay.» Funny how in 5 minutes someone else almost 6 months pregnant called and immediately chose to go with this practice. I’m sure it had nothing to do with the fact that they were butt hurt I wanted an interview rather than an exam.
I met with the NP and she was super sweet and reassuring — I actually really loved her. After the interview, as I was leaving, the staff told me that Dr. Bujor was indeed full for for December but maybe she would be willing to take me on because she has a soft spot. The office was willing to take me on when they could have charged my insurance hundreds of dollars for an OB appointment. My how things change. They were suppose to call the next day to let me know, but they never did.
Luckily I found another OB that is absolutely amazing, caring, and sweet.
