Great bakery! It’s a nice place to chill and have coffee with friends. The pastries are cheap and really good! But don’t fill up your tray too much, you’d be surprised with how much you’re paying when you get to the counter. It gets me every time! Lol! The egg custard cups and blended iced mocha are a must try.

Go to place to get tea drinks and bakeries. The bakery selections are much smaller than the location near my other home. But I don’t eat bakeries so I don’t care, only sister likes to get some bread and cakes from time to time, they are always fresh and delicious.
The tea drinks are pretty good to me, strong and full of flavors. My favorites are frozen cappuccino, peach green tea or any flavored green tea, with boba occasionally. Services are on point most of the time, the best thing is that it is never crowded at this location, we get our drinks very fast most of the time, and I LIKE that!

Great bakery. All the goodies are fresh and tasty. They offer many varieties of sweet and savory. I also enjoy their iced green tea latte with boba.
The service can be slow to check out and they don’t have enough tables if you want to sit down during a lunch break. However, the deliciousness of the treats makes up for the slowness at times.

This is my favorite place to take a coffee break!

This Taiwanese bakery has many selection
of yummy pastries. This place has more
different types of pastries which most of
them are larger and reasonably priced than Japanese bakeries!(fyi, I’m a Japanese)
So far I tried their «Marble Taro», «Mocha» «Premium Milk» breads and autumn special bread which I can’t remember its name at the moment. They were all tasty along with their signature coffee and iced coffee. Their coffees have heavenly rich flavor which always make me feel happy!
Only thing I don’t like is sometimes they
take a long time making iced coffee during
rush hours.

Love 85° Bakery. This location is smaller than others (not the large selections I’m use to) but still carry my favorite premium milk bread and coconut twist, so I’ll be coming back, especially since this location is closest to my house.

I recommend the Hokkaido cheese tart, egg custard tart, milk bread and iced sea salt coffee (they even offer a reduced sugar option).
Service can be slow but there is a lot of turnover on the pastries at this location, so they are usually still warm and fresh.

This rating is based mostly on the service, which definitely needs improvement at this location. Perhaps it was the holiday rush, more workers taking vacation around the holidays, or some combination of the two, but service was very slow and left customers confused. I saw first time customers searching for where to order because the front was backed up with customers. Only one to two registers out of five were being staffed despite the lines. They ran out of boba, which contributed to the wait and confusion as they had to call customers to ask if they wanted to wait for the boba or take a substitute. I waited about 20 minutes to get the one drink that I ordered.
I ordered the sea salt Jasmine green tea. Interesting concept, but I probably wouldn’t order it again. They add what I believe to be matcha powder to the cover, so when you shake the drink it mixes in. I’m not a fan of matcha, which is why I order jasmine tea, so I wasn’t a fan of this surprise (although I’m sure other people enjoy it).
I enjoyed the pastries I bought. I would go here again but probably just for the pastries. Especially given the wait, I would rather get boba elsewhere, where the quality and service are better.

Love this place! Their boba is always on point for me. I tried the mango green tea with boba and the classic boba and they were both tasty!
There’s always a line here and parking is almost always full so you know this place is legit.
They also have tons of baked goods here which I suggest trying out.

Love 85 Degrees… I used to go all the way to the one in Irvine but that one gets packed. Line is always out the door and if you’re waiting for a loaf of their brioche bread, well good luck to ya, because you’re just another salivating Asian among a mob of salivating Asians ’bout to snatch some bread off the trays before the bakers even set them down like it’s the apocalypse.

This one on Carson St. is never too crowded and there are always plenty of loaves of brioche bread. I can’t say they’re as good because it seems like they just sit out until people buy them, and aren’t baked fresh like every 20 minutes like they are in Irvine. BUT GOOD ENOUGH.
85 Degrees is one of my favorite bakeries because the bread is always so soft, so flavorful, and pull-​apart good. I love that you can find nice cakes here if you’re sick of the typical whipped cream yellow cakes from grocery stores; if you’re feeling like a nice cheesecake or fruit tart or coffee chiffon cake instead.
TIP: try to eat your breads/​brioche loaf the SAME DAY you buy them. They get soggy so easily because they are all so moist and borderline oily. If you eat them the next morning, they’re just not the same.
I highly recommend the Iced Peach Green Tea. The iced teas at 85 Degrees are always robust and actually taste like tea. The peach flavor is almost more of a nectar than an artificial syrup. Anyway, the combination is delicious.

I like 85 degrees. I especially love their brioche bread. All the other locations that I’ve been to would have the brioche bread readily available but for some reason this place doesn’t. I’ve been there at least on three different occasions where there is no brioche and the staff would tell me to come back another day/​time because they wouldn’t have it for a while. I also noticed other people asking for it too. One mother even told me she came back specifically at the time that she was quoted the day before and still didn’t manage to score any before it ran out. They don’t even make it to the display because as soon as they come out people in line will grab them as the staff walk around handing them out.
Other than this extremely odd situation (why don’t you make more of them if they’re so popular?) everything else is standard.

85C Bakery Café has multiple locations. This one’s located in the Mitsuwa shopping center, facing Carson Boulevard.
I frequent 85C to pick up desserts for my daughter. Today, I picked up a strawberry roll and a Taiwanese pastry. Everything is always fresh.

Close to my research lab so I had to stop by and get on with my all you can eat carb diet.
Unfortunately, a waste of calories. Everything is just a little too sweet and eventually starts tasting the same. Their green tea roll cake with red beans was SOOO painfully dry!
So I mainly went in here to try their sea salt iced coffee that everyone is raving about. WHAT IS THE BIG DEAL? Am i missing something here? :(

This seems to be the spot for Asian sweet breads and cake type items. The strange thing is you don’t see any over weight people eating or shopping here, unless you see me there. You would be like dam that’s a big Asian. Lol!
The treats here are sweet but they don’t overwhelm you with that sugar overload. The best is when they bring out the freshly made breads. You have to get one and eat it while it’s still warm. Yummy!
I don’t have one favorite treat so I can’t recommend a specific one. I like to try something new every time I visit.

If you love pastries and something different than Starbucks, try the Sea Salt Iced coffee. Definitely something great. Wait until Star Buck get a hold of this sea salt. Well… hopefully they would have pay for copyright. The pastries is something you wouldn’t find in most western pastry places, because this place is a Taiwanese place, with a French flare. And you know what that means, that it’s a top notch pastries.
So happy they have two place in Southern Cal. Torrance and Gardena, which it isn’t hard to get to. The employees are also great. Try their pastries and you will not go into another pastry place again. Of course unless, you were in Italy, Paris, Sydney, then make your pick. Been to all those and done that.

BUY1 GET1 HALF OFF on their large drinks (opening to 12pm).
But our cashier never told us about it and I didn’t see any advertisement in the store. I found out on their Instagram and they said it applies to all locations O_​o. We came on a Friday around 11ish am. It was pretty busy.
We headed straight to their bread section. It’s not very big, but we got the my fav CALAMARI STICK $ 1. I tried the HAWAIIAN CHICKEN PIZZA BREAD $ 2.50 and it was delish! I like the sweet and savory taste. For drinks, El Hubby ordered his fav SEA SALT CREAM COFFEE, which he claims is better than Starbucks coffee. I got their HONEYDEW SMOOTHIE with Boba. It was amaaazing! very refreshing and I like the smooth consistency.
Service was okay. They gave us the wrong drinks when our number was called, but they quickly gave us the correct one when we told them.
It’s okay!!!

Meh, just okay. Came in for a bite and a drink, knowing I wasn’t really a fan of other 85 stores. I prefer JJ Bakery over the 85 chain any day.
The selection of pastries is not large and there was no meat ones to my sadness. When I decided I wanted a red bean bun, I went over to the tray area only for it to not have paper liners nor tongs. I decided then I’d get a drink instead of bread.
Walked over to the «Cakes & Drinks Only» register and the 2 workers there just looked at me dumbly with not friendly vibes at all. Both had the face of «I hate my job, you deal with her.» When one finally asked me for my order I got their green milk tea no boba. Now I’ve worked at a boba tea café before so I had high expectations as a green milk tea is one of the most basic drinks you can have on a menu.
Result: over steeped tea, not enough «creamer» giving it a very bland bitter taste. My straw also broke when I tried to punch the straw through the seal top and when I asked for another, the worker actually glared at me. Some good service that was.
I only give 3 stars for the bread being decent and they always bring more out all the time. However, I recommend you go to JJ’s over on Crenshaw/​Sepulveda instead.

«Fresh Bread! Fresh Bread!» My ears perk up when I am at 85 degrees and the employees yell this across the room. Yum! When I moved jobs to Torrance, I was super excited to find out there was 85 degrees in Gardena. However, the location in Gardena seems always crowded, too many people, and too long of a line. When I found out that this location was opening, I was even more excited. (So excited that I came here during the grand opening, waited in a 40 minute line to buy $ 20 worth of bread to buy a $ 10 mug).
I think that there is less inventory here and less cries of «fresh bread.» But, I like this location because it is less crowded, less line, and plenty of parking in the lot. My favorite bread is the mocha bread, taro bread, and the garlic bread. I also enjoy getting drinks here. I tried the citrus green tea yesterday, it was too sweet for me. My normal drink is the iced mountain green tea, which is perfect on a hot day.
There is limited outdoor and indoor seating. But, since it’s less crowded, I never had a problem finding a seat.

I LOVE THIS PLACE!!! It’s expensive, but totally worth it for a treat to myself once in a while.

The bakery is divided into the bread/​pastry section, cakes/​tarts section, and drinks section, with seating on both sides. Everything is fresh and delicious.
I highly recommend if you like Asian-​style bakeries. This is my favorite one of them all. (I may be a bit biased, as I’m of Taiwanese descent… but this REALLY IS THAT GOOD!!) ;)

CARBS!!! I LOVE CARBS!!!
The concept is simple.
1. Pick up a tray and tongs.
2. Load your tray up with delicious pastries.
3. Stand in line and pay.
4. Stuff your face!
They have a large assortment of baked goods. To name a few, egg tarts, taro buns, coconut rolls, garlic cheese bread, the list goes on an on. From sweet to savory, they have it all. This location in particular always has everything I want in stock. Everything is so soft and moist and baked right there on property. The girls come out of the kitchen saying «fresh bread!» They also have a display case for things like fresh fruit tarts and panna cotta. If you get thirsty, might I suggest the sea salt coffee or sea salt jasmine tea. Both are life changing and refreshing.
Unfortunately, I live so far away so I have to stock up when I leave. I always walk out spending +$ 30. If you’re in the area and need breakfast or a quick snack, this is definitely your place.

There are probably about 85 reasons I LOVE this bakery!
This was my first time at this location but I think we all have heard or been to one somewhere. They seem to be all over these days which for me is good because I seem to have a new stomping ground at least 3 times a week so I need to consistent stand-​bys when I’m TOO TIRED to think of what I want to eat.
This is one of those places. I’ve been to a few locations and they have ALWAYS been consistent. I was VERY SURPRISED that there was almost NO LINE at this one and it was almost mid-​morning! I can’t say that I wasn’t HAPPY to see NO LINE, but I was prepared to wait if need be but luckily I didn’t have to.
I was able to walk right in and peruse the display case to see what I wanted to get. Then I went to pick up a tray! As usual customers had several items loaded onto their trays. And I even saw several trays of fresh baked items coming for the kitchen. People were pretty much standing in near by the kitchen so they could snag some FRESH BAKED goodies right from the oven before they hit the display cases.
I love being able to self-​serve but as ALWAYS NOT EVERYONE has the same kind of hygiene habits and I did see someone actually touch the UNPROTECTED baked items. They THANKFULLY did purchased what they put their grubby hands on but it is still unsanitary that they didn’t use the thongs that were readily available for them, by the trays, and they had a try… ummm did you NOT see the thogs HANGING there cause I did and there were PLENTY to grab!
They had my fav walnut tart but I skipped it and got the raisin run bread. Should be GREAT for breakfast with some coffee or tea! YUMMY! It was SUPER DUPER fresh and the bread was sweet and soft. LOVE IT!
I also got a jasmine green milk tea but when I paid and looked at my receipt they rang me up for a green milk tea. Annoying but I took it. I didn’t have time to have them change it! Boo boo! I hate when my order is wrong.
Over all they usually get it right or will remake it if it is incorrect. I’m glad this place is near my new stomping grounds.
