History
Established in 2012.
Ashcreek Ranch Academy was established in 2012. It sits on 125 acres in scenic Southern Utah. Tammy Behrmann and Darren Prince (brother/sister) grew up on a small ranch here in Southern Utah and saw firsthand the benefits of ranch work. We created ARA with that upbringing in mind. Our past experience helped us to understand the need of a clinically sophisticated RTC that offers a very nurturing environment. We consulted with Jared Balmer to create our therapeutic program and Mike Randall to create our equine program. Jared is one of the nation’s most well respected clinicians and program creators. Mike’s company, Advantage Experiential Services, has been utilizing natural horsemanship techniques to help struggling youth in therapeutic programs and private practice for eleven years. Every aspect of our program was designed with the needs of young men in mind. We feel very blessed to have the support of so many wonderful professionals and great parents to start this program.

Tammy B.
Business Owner
Tammy was raised on a small farm in Southern Utah. Her father was a school teacher and coach, her mother was a dance teacher. She believes they taught her a love for family, the value of hard work, commitment and an appreciation of the arts. After graduating from the local high school she received her Associate of Science degree from Dixie College and then went to do my undergraduate work at Southern Utah University and BYU in Business Administration and Marketing. She began working in her first Adolescent RTC in 1989 while working her way through college. She worked in about every department learning all aspects of Residential care. Eventually she was promoted and spent five years as their Admissions Director. In 1996 she moved to Arizona where she was integral team member in founding and opening her first successful Therapeutic Boarding School. Then in 1998 she realized her own dream by founding a nationally recognized Girls Therapeutic Boarding School. She helped found ARA in 2012
