Good selection and pleasant staff. Sourcing to suit you and your thirsts. Always a blast to visit. Not your average run down beverage mart.

This is quite possibly the two best places for buying beer in the area. Most hard to find beers/ales are well stocked here at great prices! Even most sold out beers are here with ample left for the thirsty buyer. I cannot tell you how many times I have searched for a specific beer with no luck only to walk in here and see several cases of it. At this point, I only buy beer here or Uncle Tom’s in Brunswick… I have never been disappointed with Bootlegger’s and always return to this place when I am in town. it is worth the drive if you are in Augusta or Portland… best selection anywhere!

Little liquor store with a decent wine selection. The service is always great. They also have wine tastings and other activities, though I’ve never gone

One of the many great things about the state of Maine is the wonderful beverage and redemption stores that we have here. Usually I don’t call out other reviewers, but I disagree whole-heartedly with what the person from Connecticut said. Most beers in Maine are probably NOT purchased at c-stores or grocers. We’re a state filled with an amazing local craft beer and wine scene(and that’s evident with both the Maine Beer Trail [which has 25 stops] and the Maine Wine Trail [with 20 stops]). And our distilling community is growing faster than ever, too. When you’ve got such an outstanding community of alcohol producers, great stores with knowledgeable staff and a diverse selection of those products are also necessary. And Bootleggers — an independently owned liquor store — is absolutely one of those places. The first time I visited Bootleggers I was working as an alcohol spokes model. I was incredibly impressed with the stores cleanliness(which can be difficult when you’re working with alcohol sometimes), the wide variety of clientele it drew, and the incredible selection of both beer and wine(making me wish I was shopping instead of giving out samples!). The staff was accommodating and helpful throughout my time working there, and I remember thinking how awesome of a place it was. It wasn’t surprising to me that there were folks from Lewiston, Augusta, and Portland shopping there! The other great thing about Bootleggers is that they are seriously involved in engaging the community in an open dialogue about adult beverages(which is the best way to market, right?). They have complimentary beer tastings on Fridays(2 to 6pm) and complimentary wine tastings on Saturdays(2 to 6pm) — check their website for what products are being tasted when. Usually folks from Bootleggers and representatives from the companies being sampled are on-hand to give away schwag, pour samples, and educate folks about the product. If you’re into that sort of thing(and I am both personally and [formerly] professionally), it’s a really good time. Whatever you’re looking for, a nice bottle of wine for under $ 10,(an American adjunct lager like) Miller Lite, or(something local and delicious like) Peak’s Organic, Bootleggers is sure to have it. And if they don’t — just ask! They’re more than willing to work with you to either order it themselves or send you in the direction of where you can get it. That’s customer service right there!

It is a modest sized store with a selection of beer that keeps me coming back. I am all for micro brews not only from Maine but mainly :). I also love a great international beer, which they have a good selection of as well. There is a wall of chilled beverages as well for ease if you are heading right to gathering and need that cold beverage ready to serve. They have a decent section of wine, although, I have never purchased any wine from this store. Customer service has been consistently friendly. Keep your eyes out for the deals near the door. Mix and Match — gems can be found with a little bit of patience. On your way in or out, be on the look out for the chalk board that will show the specials and upcoming events. Tastings are tasty.

Most beers in Maine are bought at grocery or convenience stores. This translates into a lot of Miller Lite. A store devoted to beer and wine is a relatively rare thing. Bootleggers does not disappoint. Any beer store with a large selection of cold Belgian beer is outstanding in any locale. The prices are great. I just picked up a cold bottle of Three Philosophers for 6 bucks and it wasn’t even a special.

Great selection of beers, including Belgian. It’s not a world class beer store, but definitely a great find in Topsham, and my guess is there’s not as good a store between Portland and Augusta.
