We specialize in non-​surgical treatment of spine, joint, tendon and nerve pain. Dr. Frye is an MD and is expert in diagnostic musculoskeletal ultrasound and ultrasound guided injections including platelet rich plasma or PRP, Prolotherapy and cortisone injections.

Our team includes 2 chiropractors and 3 physical therapists that specialize in musculoskeletal problems. We treat neck and back pain and associated headaches, shoulder pain and injuries including ultrasound evaluation of the rotator cuff, hip, knee, elbow ankle and foot problems. Our therapy is designed to find the underlying problems driving your pain and help you help yourself to a state of improved wellness and function

History

Established in 2000.

in 2000 Doug Frye MD joined Mark Penn DC and formed the first multispecialty clinic for nonsurgical treatment of spine and joint pain.

Exercise physiologist performed rehabilitation and in 2010 we opened a physical therapy department that has expanded to 3 physical therapists and 2 physical therapy assistants along with our original exercise therapist Seth Harrison CSCS who also manages the practice.

James Keen DC also joined the practice in 2010. We now have a treatment team of 9 along with a support staff of 5.

Patients may see one or several of our treatment team depending on needs. Our team approach to problems giving you the best chance at getting well.

The practice was the first in Kansas to be certified in diagnostic musculoskeletal ultrasound by the American Institute of Ultrasound Medicine and Dr. Frye was among the first physicians in the nation certified as a MSK sonographer by the ARDMS. Prolotherapy was added in 2007 and Platelet Rich Plasma or PRP treatment in 2010.

The Center for Manual Medicine is co-​owned by Dr. Frye, Dr. Penn, Dr. Keen and Matt Elniff PT and managed by Seth Harrison.

Dr Frye has over 30 years of experience and has been in Topeka for 25 years. He is board certified in occupational medicine.

Dr. Penn, a Topeka native, has been in practice here since 1982 and has been voted best chiropractor in Topeka multiple times including 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014.

Dr. Keen is a graduate of Cleveland Chiropractice College in Kansas City and originally worked in the practice as an exercise therapist.

Matt Elniff PT has completed a postgraduate fellowship in musculoskeletal therapy and has worked in the Topeka area for over 10 years.

Seth Harrison has been with the practice since inception and now is the clinic manager besides providing outstanding exercise therapy.
