Specialties

We specialize in true French-​American Bistro fare. Mostly organic meats and produce come served in a relaxed and hip atmosphere. Our fries, truffle fries and sweet potato fries are the talk of the town, along with our 8 oz. organic burger. Highlights of the menu include fresh fish that is is delivered whole and filleted in house. Organic Scottish Salmon with Forbidden black rice, PEI mussels with a saffron-​dijon broth are some of the highlights. Kobe style beef is often on the chalkboard as well. We offer a daily vegetarian soup along with our French onion soup au gratin. We also offer a kid’s menu so yes, we’re good for kids! Live Jazz on from some of the top players in L.A. on weekends. History

Established in 2007.

The Canyon Bistro is a direct result of my desire to create a great eatery in Topanga for those folks looking for a high quality restaurant without having to leave the canyon. As owner of nearby Café Mimosa, I would hear from customers so often that they wished there were more choices for lunch and dinner in the canyon. Thus the Canyon Bistro was born.

Built from scratch with all new equipment, we offer true French-​American bistro food. As a lifelong musician I traveled and lived in France many years ago and always wanted to bring some of that flavor and feeling back here to L.A. We also offer a nice wine, champagne and beer list that includes some great and boutique style French wines. Viva la Bistro! Larry Cohn, owner.

As a life long musician, I was fortunate to spend a great deal of time touring in France some 20 years ago. I was immersed in the culture, both for the food and the arts and loved it. I built The Canyon Bistro as my way of offering a menu that has those elements of French Cuisine that I love so much. At the same time, there are my American favorites as well, with the best organic burger around. We play jazz on the patio during the summer and that fulfills my other passion. Join us 7 days a week for lunch, brunch and dinner.
