I have finally found the perfect nail salon/​spa!
Star Nails is a gem in Toluca Lake. The owner Olivia is a stickler for perfection and she is perfection! I love how detailed
she does my «gel fill «. This gel /​manicure fill lasts up to 3 weeke/​20 days!!! What manicure does? Star Nails does!
Olivia shapes expertly and does not finish until your nails are perfect! She is innovative in design and detail, her execution is perfect, finesse!
Mimi does a great pedicure, ingrown nails are not a problem! She gives a «mean» shoulder massage too.
This nail salon is a wonderful place and is a must if you are particularly detailed and like perfect nails!
This place is a well oiled machine but feels like you are at a Spa!

They do an excellent job here! Very precise and thorough! I came in late the other night before closing and they were kind enough to stay open. I felt absolutely pampered and not at all rushed. I also love the music! Not your typical elevator music in the background. They ALWAYS do an amazing job here!

Love love love star nails! We had a giant group come in for our prom and Olivia and her staff were super accommodating to us all, making sure we were comfortable and helped and even giving us complimentary water bottles. I love Olivia’s work on my acrylics, she’s always fast and her attention to detail is astounding. Thanks Star Nails!!!

Olivia does great work. The atmosphere of this place is very relaxing (try to go around 2pm if you can — not crowded at all).
However — a few reasons why I will most likely not go back:
— they don’t post the prices (as mentioned by other reviewers) in the store or on the website which never makes me feel super comfortable
— I called to get a quote for a fill in + gel polish on top + pedicure and was told $ 60 — great!
— After everything was complete, she tells me it’s $ 74 because 1 of my acrylic nails fell off and that’s $ 5 (??) and they scrubbed the bottom of my feet.
I get my nails done every few weeks and spend quite a bit of money. For me, trust is a big thing at a nail salon — and I’ll keep coming back ($$$) if that’s established. Giving me a quote $ 14 LESS than what I actually paid (not including tip) and adding on everything after the fact — AND being told that each acrylic nail is worth $ 5? No thanks.
My nails do look great. Olivia did a great job — but I will keep looking for a go to place in LA.

I’ve gotten my nails done at Star Nails for a little over a year now. I’m a runner, so my feet are always a nightmare but they do INCREDIBLE work and make my feet look dainty and perfect again (and with no pain)! I always have Olivia do my fill & gel; she’s done my acrylics for a year. My nails underneath are STRONG and LONG and her fills last up to a MONTH! Great color selection… Great customer service. So clean. Love all these ladies! Best nail salon ever!

Best nails ever! I never stop getting compliments! See Olivia. Mimi did the pedicure. Special light dries polish quickly. For nails, I’m usually done in an hour. Pretty, clean salon. Parking in some back lot. You have to ask them about that.

This is my second time I have been here but its been a while… now I remember why. Though convenient, I left in pain. I got a $ 30 spa pedicure… a deluxe. I figured why not treat myself. Well the nice lady doung the pedicure was distracted… she kept getting up, took a call and let me back up… the water was ice cold which I had her fix. (Got to luke warm which went cold immediately) Anyway, while working on the cuticle she nicked me. At first she thought I didn’t notice since I didn’t flinch. Then it started to sting and bleed. She got up again for some blue stuff and a cotton ball. It stung so bad I couldn’t even put my toe in water. She continued and even painted that toe… which was atill bleeding. I really couldn’t get out fast enough. I still tipped as if it was a good service but I am in need of a bandaid.
Think I will try someplace else next time. Sigh…

I am in serious need of a mani/​pedi for tomorrow in this area and chose this salon since they are open on Sunday and seem to have good photos on Unilocal from customers, so I called and made an appt.
Afterward, I began to read a review about how pricing seems to fluctuate from time to time so I decided to check out prices on their website. But prices are NOT listed anywhere! I called the salon to ask where on the site are their prices and the lady said, «tell me what you want and I’ll tell you price.» O. O Well that’s not a red flag –_​– I asked about gel mani and reg pedi. After she quoted me I asked, what about additional services like: callus removal or mani/​pedi packages? She then began to give me all these quotes O. o that quite frankly I (or any customer) would prefer to view a price list.
I asked again, is there anywhere I can view a price list on the website? She gave me the web link, I informed that I’m aware of the link but prices are not listed. She acted surprised, then asked her manager who said not listed. It makes me very weary about any business that does not list their service rates for customers to view prior to their visit.
Hopefully, my first appointment will be more promising :-/

I’ve been extremely hesitant to get a full set or even a gel manicure, but with all of the formal events that I have in my calendar, I think it’s necessary to look presentable… well my nails that is.
So, I searched for something close to home and work and found this gem! Olivia is great in understanding and knowing what suits your nails best. She was quick, seamless and a perfectionist.
The gripe that I do have and perhaps this is pure ignorance, is that I was assuming that with a full set you get a manicure too? I didn’t get that full pampered treatment. Is that expected or a need to ask?
Either way, I had a great experience and will be coming back!

I just moved here from Manhattan Beach and was worried about finding a great place to get my nails done. I am very picky and have to say I am extremely happy with Star Nails. I got a gel mani and pedi and they did a great job. Pricing is reasonable and salon is clean and very cute. I called and got an appointment instantly. Highly recommended!

Love this place, they are so clean & detail oriented. The little things they do comes a long way like turning on your massage chair when it turns off or offering water etc. great music playing and it 1 min from my house ! So glad I found them ! Btw last time i got gel here, it lasted over 2 weeks !

I ADORE YOU STAR NAILS. They deserve more than 5 stars.
But seriously though I have been to so many nail salons in and around LA and they do not compare to the kindness and professionalism of Star Nails. I’ve been going there on and off for 3 years and no matter how long it’s been, as soon as I walk in I am greeted like an old friend. Olivia and all the lovely employees always remember you. They make you feel important and valued.
I do not even worry about having a specific person do my nails because every single person I’ve had has done a phenomenal job. I’ve truly never had a disappointing or bad experience here. It’s an establishment full of wonderful professionals who value your business. Can’t rave enough about this place.

It’s about that time to upgrade to 5 stars!
Everytime I come in, it’s always incredibly clean, the staff is nice, and they do a great job! They remember your name and I don’t have a regular person for my mani/​gel pedi, because they are all great! I also still get my eyebrows and underarm wax and Olivia (the owner) is the ish… she’s fast and I never feel pain.
I’ll keep coming back as long as they’ll have me!

I love this place. I work in TV and film and Olivia is the only one that can do my acrylic nails and make them look like natural nails. The salon is always clean and they keep their polishes organized so you can always find exactly what you’re looking for. Their pedicures are also the absolute best. and I’m ticklish.
So here’s the thing. if anyone has ever complained about this salon then they obviously had something not go exactly as they wanted, and they didn’t speak up. Olivia always makes things right. Always.
Bring cash if able to. Remember nail salons are small businesses with huge overheads typically. be kind and remember since they really can’t take tips on credit cards.

Alright Star Nails, I hate to do this to you especially since the last review was so good.
A few days after I visited the last time my nails became very dry and flaky… they started peeling and eventually my long, beautiful, strong nails were no more. I’m not sure what caused it, but I certainly don’t want to return to find out. The staff is friendly enough, but it’s just not worth it to me to return. It took about a month and a half to get my nails and skin both on my hands and feet somewhat back to normal :-(
