I rarely feel the need to post reviews but my experience here truly warrants a heartfelt review. The folks at toledo auto care are genuine, warm, caring, transparent, and honest. They keep you updated, informed, and make it very clear they are working for YOU, their customer. After going through a lot of trouble with my car, we developed a game plan to get all problems resolved, and today my son and I walked out of there with our arms full of snacks, drinks, toledo auto care swag. This is my permanent car care location.

They kept me updated on the status of repairs while I waited in the waiting area. They have free wifi and coffee, tea, drinks for customers. They had my car repaired in half the the estimated time. Best customer service I’ve received in an auto shop. Highly recommend.

Went in for an electrical problem with a rear window. They fixed the window for a reasonable price, but they also ran the complimentary «health check». Little did I know my car had a number of problems that required almost $ 3,500 to fix, including a radiator replacement, rack and pinion replacement, a new rear axle seal, two new tires, and other minor things. I was so shocked that I did not know what to do.
I ended up taking it to my regular mechanic and I asked him specifically to check for these issues. Several hours later he called me and told me that after exhaustively looking at all these my car had none of these problems. If anything, maybe there was a very small leak of transmission fluid but he did not thin it needed immediate action. Definitely not a radiator leak, not problems in the axle, and no need to replace the tires. Also they did not even charge me for the diagnostics. I’ll let you be the judge…

Clearly, I do not review much in Unilocal but I do feel like I owe the men and women at Toledo auto center a little gratitude.
I dropped my car off on a Sunday and dropped my keys in their designated drop box. I left a little info on the envelope and I was on my way. The next morning I received a call telling me exactly what the problem was and how much it was going to cost to repair.
It was pretty steep so I figured I would head over there after work. Once I got there I was greeted with a handshake and a smile.
I was told about the broken part (burnt fuse panel) and exactly where the money I was paying would go. It was an easy fix but an expensive part. That’s what I get for driving a Cadillac :/​
The car was ready within minutes and the team there had no problem splitting my bill onto 2 separate cards. I received coupons, warranty info (1 year!) and chocolate!
The only bad thing I would say about this place is that there aren’t any in MI. I am moving back to southeast Michigan at the end of this summer and I will certainly miss the peace of mind.
I believe most will be surprised to hear that I will definitely be back at this shop as long as my AAA milage covers it.

Outstanding auto repair shop with great customer service. Staff here is honest, friendly, knowledgeable, thorough, and patient. Got my car serviced here twice and planning to go back again. The staff always informs me of recommended repairs but never pressures me into a decision. Service is also quick and efficient. Waiting area is clean and comfortable. I have been very impressed with this business and would definitely recommend them. Truly a breath of fresh air among auto repair/​maintenance shops.

I had a very minor issue with my vehicle. My regular mechanic was booked solid and I just couldn’t figure it out on my own. I took my car in to Toledo Auto Car and they solved the problem in a few minutes. They wouldn’t even charge me (I think they finally accepted some cash just so I would leave).
Kudos to Ryan and the team there. I will definitely return — hopefully not soon, of course, but I think my experience has informed me about the kind of treatment I could expect in the future.

I visited Toledo Auto Care to figure out what this awful noise coming from my car could be. I was treated very professionally; their staff is friendly and intelligent. They aren’t the cheapest mechanic in town, but the work they do deserves more than the bare minimum. You’re paying for a certified mechanic who has been working on cars for years to make your car function to the best of their ability. The same can’t be said for other, shadier mechanics in Toledo. The courtesy car was convenient, and allowed me to get to work on time while still getting my car repaired. I will recommend Toledo Auto Care to my friends, and any Unilocal-​ites who read this review.

Personally, I can’t judge the quality of mechanic skills. I assume all garages will get the job done; the noticeable difference is the «oh, we’ve noticed these other things» talk and the customer service.
The guy was very helpful through that talk, giving me advice on what things should be best taken care of immediately and what things could wait a bit. I’ve been pushed hard at other places for expensive flushings.
In terms of customer service, I was very happy with the phone calls, free towing, free shuttles, and student discount.

My brakes were grinding, and pulsing when I used them. I decided to bring them here, and perhaps watch a movie while the van was worked on. I called, and they recommended that I have the van in by 7:30 AM. I thought I might have to find a way home but they have a driver who takes you home, and picks you up when the work is done.
The inspection of the brakes indicated that the brake pads had 75% of material left on the front brakes, and 50% on the rear. I had not had the van in for service since I bought it in July 2007. When they called with that information I asked them to do an oil change and cooling system flush, and to find out what was making the «check engine» light stay on. They later called with the information that it was the EGR valve.
The oil change cost $ 19.95 plus $ 14.95 for 5 qt of 5W20, and $ 4.99 for the oil filter. The cooling system flush was $ 38.13 for labor and $ 19.95 to replace 5qts of coolant.
The EGR valve replacement was the most expensive. $ 216.99 for the EGR Valve (70 – 6172) and $ 116.71 for the labor. It also cost $ 17.00 to replace the air filter. A total of $ 500.55 ($ 31.65 sales tax and $ 20.19 for a Env/​Sup. Charge). Considering I had no service in three years (except my brother changing oil) I got off lucky, I think
The brakes still made the same sound. They called me a few days later to ask how I liked their service. I told them I was taking the van to another dealer to have the brakes checked yet again. They requested I brink it back. The manager believed from what I said that it was the rotors. I took it back, asked to removed the labor for the brake inspection (since they did not find problem), and he said the labor was for inspecting the brakes, and that a rotor problem would be found only with a road test. A road test was conducted but for the EGR valve. I decided to let them try again.
They called again about 2PM that the car was ready. I asked them to send the «courtesy car» (which was out). They called again a half-​hour later that he was coming. I took a friend along (both times no problem for the driver), paid my bill, and tried the car. No sounds from the brakes and they worked smoothly. The cost was $ 79.93 for machining the rotors within factory specifications. Everyone feels much safer in my car now.
