Solid sushi. Good atmosphere. Good prices. They had ½ off of a couple rolls, so I doubled up on those. Spicy tiger roll was very good. Not sure what the crab salad is that people have been talking about in ither reviews, but I didn’t get one.

Sori Sushi is a simple, but decent, sushi bar in a strip mall. It lacks atmosphere, but everyone was friendly and the food was good. I went at 8 pm on a Tuesday night and the dining room was over half full and all the parties seemed like happy regulars. I was in town for business, dining by myself & trying Sori for the first time… when I asked the server which rolls are the most popular or «can’t miss», she simply said everything was good and left it at that. I’m used to much fancier sushi restaurants & incredibly helpful staff, but this isn’t that kind of place. The waitress did a good job, the food was simple & good… not much more to say.

I have been to Sori many times now and i have never been disappointed! The sushi is delicious! Their rolls are creative and tasty and the nigiri is some of the freshest tasting i have had in Toledo. The staff has always been wonderful as well! I recommend the Kani Su as a great appetizer. Also, i have ordered to-go a number of times and they are quick and it tastes just as good when i get home.

Good sushi, great prices. Excellent service, although yes, the owner walking about can be a little odd sometimes. Kooky, even, but I think she’s just trying to be attentive. I love the décor, service was fast and so was our order. They have very fresh nigiri, go for it. Too many rolls with fake crab in them; yes, this is the midwest, but most of us in sushi restaurants know real crab from fake, thankyouverymuch. Overall a great experience; I will definitely be back!

Have always liked Sori Sushi. We ordered 5 rolls. It tasted great and today Sori complimented my shoes. Complain about the prices, but it certainly doesn’t cost as much as Nagoya. The portions are just fine and a Bud Light is only $ 2.50. Also the wait has been long in the past but today was very short.

This is as close to the real thing as you get. It’s design is authentic. It is not dark or drab like some of the other places I have tried. I also love the freshness of the food. The staff is always friendly and Kenny always has a smile for me.

The sushi is pretty good, the portions are indeed small. The thing about this place is that I never feel particularly welcome here. I feel like an intruder trying to give someone money. The service is cold. Time to try some place else I guess. On a passive note the food consistently tastes good.

Small Sushi and Japanese inspired restaurant that is family run by husband and wife. The food from the beef maki to the various sushi combos and rolls is excellent. I will say that sometimes when they are busy service can be lacking but I am willing to continue frequenting this place because the food is great and the owners are pleasant and make for a great experience each time.

I snuck in here about a month ago(near Halloween) and went incognito so Sori wouldn’t call the police(read my main review first). I wore my Halloween costume and she didn’t suspect a thing! So I wanted to see if the service or food had changed at all in the almost 3 years since I had last visited. Sori sushi has the SMALLEST portions out of any sushi place in Toledo, like seriously, read the other reviews too. Sushi rolls and nigri are SMALL. The few rolls I tried were also very bland, plain, and just not good. Seems like nothing has changed. So if you want SMALLPORTIONS of bland sushi, and terrible service, come here!

Sori Sushi is always tasty, fresh and just delicious. Clean, great tasting sushi. I think it’s the best I have ever had. I love the White Tuna, and the Salmon skin. The Spicy Handmade tuna roll is amazing.

Very disappointing. I decided to give this a try despite the number of sub-par reviews I read. I went for lunch with a coworker and we each ordered 2 sushi rolls. It was not busy and the rolls came out over a half an hour after we ordered(not great when people are on their lunch hour). The spicy tuna was the smallest roll I’ve ever seen, poorly rolled, had tough seaweed and didn’t have a good flavor. The other roll I tried, the Crunchy Munch, based on the reviews that I read, again did not have much flavor, despite it saying it had spicy crab. My coworker was similarly disappointed, adding a lot of wasabi and ginger to her two rolls to give them some kick. The service was mediocre at best, the waitress only had 4 tables and it took over 5 minutes just for her to bring us our menus. Took another 10+ minutes for us to receive our bills and cash out once we asked for them. Definitely will not be back, there are many better sushi places in Toledo.

Worst sushi and service! My husband and I decided to go for lunch yesterday since it was near the mall and we had some shopping to do. We ordered from the lunch menu, and the order wasn’t complicated at all. I got the sushi combo and he got a bento box. We waited around for nearly an hour before our food was brought to the table, and while his looked lovely, my sushi was visually unappealing, just set out on a plain round plate. I’ve had supermarket sushi that looked and tasted much better than this. My fish was not fresh, and the slices were skimpy to boot. And while the food in the Bento box looked appealing, the tempura was heavy and greasy. When we finally finished we had to wait around for another 20 minutes for the bill. Overall, it was a waste of time and money. We definitely won’t be back, ever!

Watch out guys! 1st Visit– I pressed a pick up order for $ 65 over the phone. I was told it would be ready within 30 min, okay… I arrived after 45 min and the restaurant was totally empty– No customer, no waitress. I stood in front of the counter for 5 min and the Boss Lady came out from the kitchen. She didn’t say Hi but gave me a cold stare instead… I said, «I come to pick up my phone order», she handed me the check. I thought the food was ready, but I spent another 30 min waiting in front of the bar. I was like, «Really? You didn’t get my food ready on time and you made me wait by asking for payment before you make the food? How do you define phone pick up order really?» I wasn’t given anything, not even a glass of water when I was«waiting» within that 30 mins. I felt I was disrespected! She didn’t even smile from the beginning till the end and acted like I owe her a million dollar! 2nd Visit– My friends said they wanted to go there for sushi and I jumped in the car without knowing we were actually heading to this place. We served by a very good waiter this time. We were happy for his service, but the food was really really unacceptable. The Calamari portion was ridiculously small. Took me 10 min to chew it and swallow the bite. Felt like eating chewing gums. Do yourself a favor– Don’t spend your money to get yourself abused! If you go to Kyoto Ka, you will be treated with respect, tasty good and very likely, a lovely evening!

This is my favorite sushi spot in Toledo for several reasons. First of all it is a small mom and pop restaurant in a strip of stores. They are never crowded and there is never a wait. I like going for lunch, but the experience is just as good at dinner. Kenny, the co-owner and head sushi chef, along with his crew make some fantastic, simple sushi. The menu isn’t overly complicated with crazy rolls, and their fish selection is pretty basic. This being stated, it is always fresh, well cut, and super tasty. I like the alaskan roll, and my husband swears by the beast. Before you get your sushi they give you a little cup of kani su(crab and cucumber salad), make sure to get a full size one too. Their sesame dressing is killer. Sori, the other co-owner. makes the majority of the décor here. The walls and bar are covered with really cool fish designs made with leaves. The décor is simple, but I am always impressed with her work. Sori usually also serves tables. She can be a little pushy, but don’t mind that. She is actually very friendly and fast.

Probably my favorite sushi spot in Toledo for a few easy reasons. Good sushi, good size portions, reasonable sushi prices, delightful décor, and the intimate casual setting. The sushi is probably some of the best in Toledo. I’ve enjoyed it so much that I’ve ventured into different flavors and types that I typically would be afraid to seek out. When it comes to fish in general, I’m pretty nervous. This place is so good that I never worry about what I choose off the menu. I have to say that for portion vs. price, it’s pretty good compared to the other sushi places in town. I really enjoy the crunchy munch, spicy salmon crunch, and dragon roll. The small free appetizer that comes out is great and ingenious in how the tiny plate underneath acts as your soy sauce platter. I really, really, really like the décor. It’s stylized correctly for the asian fare, and is modern enough that everytime I go I hope I’m at a different table so I can look at a different leaf painting that I believe the owner Sori makes on her own. Very pretty. The wait staff does seem different each time I go in, but I’ve yet to have a problem.

Wow. This place sucks. My husband and I arrived at Sori for a date night but was wary of the«4 star rating» this place has. A server told us there would be a 30 minute wait and we amicably agreed. We sat down at the bar and was not approached for about 15 minutes. Finally a waitress gave us our menus and we decided on a calamari appetizer($ 7.95), and 3 sushi rolls on top of that. We received our appetizer about 20 minutes later and holy shit. For $ 8 you get a cup and a half of the most rubbery, least appetizing calamari you’ve ever tried in your life. Prepare to give your jaw a workout, because you will be chewing for a longgg time. The portion size was ridiculous and so offending. The batter was non-existent and the squid tasted like it was sitting back there for a long time. I was tempted to send it back but refrained from doing so because of what would possibly happen in the kitchen. Another 15 – 20 minutes passed and we received our first roll– Spider. Not terribly fresh, it was OK. Our crunchy roll came afterward, and it wasn’t what I was expected. The sushi was laid flat with the crunchies laid on top. Also not bad, but the ingredients definitely isn’t great and the fish leaves an aftertaste in your mouth. We waited patiently for our 3rd roll when the server came by and started clearing our plates. «Can I bring you the check?» she asked. Ummm, no because we haven’t received all our food. By the time our last roll came(Sori roll) my husband was left without his plate and soy sauce. The server didn’t even bring his stuff back. Nice. Again, Sori roll was 2 stars because of the low quality of the fish and meager quantity. For $ 10 a roll, save your money and put it in your 401K or something. I don’t really understand why this place gets a 4 star rating. Even placed against Toledo standards, this restaurant can’t be more than a 2.5. We waited ridiculously long for someone to even acknowledge us, the quality of the fish and food is low, service is mediocre at best, and the value of the food does not come close to what they charge. I had sushi from KROGERS one day and I can honestly say it tasted better. This place = Rip-off. Not recommended.

We wanted to grab something for dinner that wasn’t fast food and we ended up here. The place seemed more of a hang-out– with-my-friends restaurant rather than a place for a nice date but it was quaint. The staff seemed friendly although the waitress forgot to give us spoons for our dish and straws for our drinks. As for the food, I love sushi so I was happy to be eating there. And the prices ARE cheaper(maybe $ 1 or so less per roll) than other nicer sushi restaurants. BUT I the quality wasn’t as good as other nicer sushi restaurants. Also, you either got soup OR salad with your meal as opposed to both. The water tasted a little metallic and the miso soup was a little lacking. In addition to rolls, I got the hwe dup bap(Korean chirashi) which is usually what I get at Kotobuki. I could definitely see a difference in quality. There wasn’t much of the seafood and the pieces were very small and not as fresh as I’m used to. The dish was mostly the lettuce and there was a little too much sesame oil for my taste. It was definitely not the Korean chirashi I’m used to(then again, I always compare my dishes to Kotobuki so I expect the best). Overall, it wasn’t a bad experience. I still enjoyed the sushi rolls that we got and the Korean chirashi, even though it’s not what I’m used to. But since the prices were only a couple dollars less than Kotobuki($ 16 for their chirashi vs $ 18 at Kotobuki), I’d honestly rather just pay the extra to get bigger, better quality sushi and a more intimate atmosphere.
