Metzgers is a printing, mailing, fulfillment, and marketing firm serving corporations, educational institutions, healthcare organizations, and ad agencies across the Midwest.

Metzgers has been evolving and growing for more than three decades, in response to customer needs. Over the years, the company has architected and built to become a première marketing solutions-​provider, with the infrastructure to support printing, mailing, fulfillment and a host of other related services. Several more leading-​edge solutions are in development.

Located in Toledo, Ohio, Metzgers began in 1976 as a typesetter, then added pre-​press, offset printing, digital printing, mailing, data management, warehouse and fulfillment, and cross media (online/​offline) capabilities. Our most recent addition is wide-​format digital printing services for large-​scale print projects including indoor and outdoor signage and displays.

History

Established in 1976.

Founded by Norb Metzger in 1976, Metzgers began as a typesetting firm that also provided darkroom services. In 1985, Metzgers added a color copy center for businesses and consumers, and in 1991 the company added a digital color printing capability.

In recent years, Metzgers pioneered the integration of online and offline services with Web-​based customer storefronts that have automated click-​to-​order production and fulfillment. In addition, the company provides clients with the latest in direct marketing tools, including cross-​media campaigns with personal URLs (PURLs), microsites, e-​grams, QR codes and other emerging digital marketing technologies.

The next chapter in the history of Metzgers is being written right now. We don’t know the specifics… yet. But we do know that it will be driven by innovation and a focus on customer needs.

Starting as a delivery driver — and working in the pre-​press darkroom — Joe worked his way up through management to take over direction of the family-​owned company in 1996. Since then — and working with his brother Tom — he has engineered unprecedented growth, with Metzgers becoming a rising member of printing’s Top 400 beginning in 2008. An industry visionary, Joe was inducted into the Printing Industries of America Hall of Fame in 2010.

A Toledo native, Joe attended the University of Toledo. He is married and has four children.
